RIP Charlie of course, and yes he stuck his oar in, the least he can do is show compassion and issue a RIP statement, but the NK issue is serious and he's not mentioned it at all. I refrain from commenting on all this bullshit as my wife says it makes me angry so it's usually you pal that has an uncanny knack of putting my thoughts in you're posts. You are hands down my favorite poster in this thread.
I just wanted to tell people why I'm angry. I like the US, lived here for a while now and have a beautiful family. I'm entertained for sure and have packed on about 25 (jolly) pounds while educating myself by reading between the lines. But I am from a Western European country so am very disillusioned and frustrated. We are the epitome of middle class, good jobs and simple pleasures. I thought all this healthcare mess wouldn't affect us as we were kind of insulated by the system. We are now in a situation where the biggest healthcare provider in our county is in the process of cutting ties with the biggest insurance provider in our state over "specialist fees". I know more then most about how these two industries work so this bullshit really pisses me off as it takes away a very important piece of mind all over fake pricing. To top it off my wife has put so much energy in to her agency, who specialize in care coordination for people on Medicaid but is now on a knife edge as the repugs fight over who can be the biggest cnut to the most vulnerable people in society.
I am at a point where the midterms are a make or break for my family. If we see gains for a progressive agenda we will weather the storm. If the party of hate makes gains after all that has happened over the last year and a half then that is it for me. Not to make light of a horrible situation but this will equate to me the need to get my family out of a disaster zone as every push made by this despicable party and disgusting administration fails this country.

This week he even turned a Scouts Jamboree talk in to a political speech about himself, and sickeningly he even used it to once more trash Obama then revelled in the adulation he received from kids, many of which wouldn't really understand what he was going on about anyway. That's one of the lowest things that happened all week but was lost because this week he actually surpassed himself once more and found that the barrel really has no bottom for him to scrape.

He may not have responded to it on Twitter, but the WH did issue an statement and the US conducted military drills with South Korea in response.
Yup, that's not quite the same thing really though. It's almost as if he's afraid to comment because he knows he's clueless and out of his depth OR people prevent him from commenting so he doesn't go and say something that can't be taken back. That's my take on it anyway. As for the military ops with SK, seeing as Trump passed all power to the generals, it's safe to say that he probably wasn't even aware about any of that.
Anyway, it's the weekend, so something very childish that made me laugh, and makes a change from all the depressing stuff.

Bachmann claimed that, since the inauguration,Trump has been “working nonstop, 70 days in a row, [he] hasn’t taken a day off” as part of his effort to make America great again and to take a stand for God.
“He is unashamed in standing up for increasing an awareness of God in the United States,” she said. “He recognizes how important that is and that that is a basis of Western civilization … As a believer in Jesus Christ, I could not be more happy with what I am seeing coming out of the Trump White House. This is beyond my wildest expectations.”
“The president himself is man of prayer and man who loves to receive prayer,” she cooed. “He is a man who, I do believe, understands who the God of the Bible is and he wants to lift up the God of the Bible here in the United States … The Lord is working mightily in our government and I believe it is because God is being reverenced, God is being lifted up. Prayer is not foreign in the White House, it’s not foreign in the Executive Office Building; looking to God, looking through Bible studies, this is not foreign anymore.”
Bachmann said that Trump deserves all the credit because “he is somebody who gets the fact that the God of the Bible is, He is, He exists, He is real … This president is very bold about the need for God in our country.”

I actually had a coworker tell me something like that before the end of last school year, along the lines of "the nation has never prayed so much over an election before".. I turned to her and said "then please never pray for me. Thanks."
