McCain is back so McConnell can lose 2 votes maximum. Susan Collins has already voted no. 4 or 5 others (Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Lisa Murkowski etc) have voiced objections in past and have not committed either way.

Its not a vote on the Bill but a vote on the process of putting the Bill onto the floor. Procedural vote.

I'd say there's a pretty big chance it's just another lie. His followers love to hear that "he's working on something" regardless of the fact that very little has actually happened so far.

Also, complaining about the EU being protectionists is a quite laughable, considering that one of his major campaign promises was to take the US in that exact direction.

Not even close. In the past people have been thrown under the bus for wider failures, but always subtle. A word or two about disappointment in a certain outcome, and then said person gets the message and resigns.

After @BusbyMalone put me on the path of listening to some Sam Harris yesterday I found one part where he pointed out the following: back when the Don tweeted that "if China doesn't take care of N. Korea then we will" he essentially threatened war with N. Korea. With any other President that would have been front page news the next day. With this one no one cares... everyone just assumes its BS.

Its no tragedy.
In his condition there's no reason to crawl out of hospital to vote for it unless he believes in it. There is literally nothing Trump or the RNC can threaten him with now.
OTOH, this is a man who opposes torture because he was tortured, and who supports every possible military adventure after being a US pilot in Vietnam. I have no reason to think that he has empathy for people who aren't exactly in his situation, ie, he might have some understanding of cancer patients and torture victims, but none about those who can't afford a visit to the doctor or those whose families are killed with bombs.

He will run out of ways to shock people after a couple of years. That will drive him even crazier.
 
I am sure there are a lot of republicans desperate to get rid as soon as it's politically convenient to do so.

If America starts allowing Trump to blatantly disregard the rule of law, it won't end with Trump.

Let's put it this way: if not for Brexit I'd be sending my application through the UK immigration website right about now (or back in November). Even with Brexit I'm giving it a think.

Chaos looms. They say Bannon wants to destroy the state and it's in the process of happening. The America we've known is in peril.

And even if he had there's no way you'd see the effect yet. He's still able to sell it to the gullible supporters though - his mere presence is enough to give a positive effect, obviously.
