The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

McCain is a war hero and without doubt a decent human being.

But, I've always hated his propensity to identify a bad idea, speak out against it...but, then go along with it anyways because a Republican president came up with it. He's "The Maverick" - who really isn't a maverick after all.

More importantly Trump making it untenable for Sessions to continue - again, something he's doing for the wrong reasons...but the untended result would be a net positive. Sessions is bad news for civil rights in this country.

it makes my wish on topic whereas yours is just repetitive point scoring. she lost because she was a terrible candidate. get over it.

actually looking more and more that interferance with the electoral process by a foreign power with at least the encouragement of her opponent had some effect.

but lets not let facts get in the way of your world view

Yes...it had some effect. But as someone who voted for Hillary - it's also true, she wasn't a very good candidate. Despite her impressive credentials...there was something missing.

I don't know if she lacked an ability to connect to people (she did after all win more votes)...or, whether her team took too many places for granted and had the wrong strategy, but - her loss is on her.

No way in hell should she have lost to Trump.

she lost to a serial rapist with no experience who has a stupid old dementia brain. if obama was running it wouldnt have been close.

Luckily for McCain he isn't subject to the same healthcare the average American is. And both the senate and congress GOP health bills continue this proud tradition of giving politicians and their staff significantly better healthcare than the rest of the country.

@Eboue Do you think America and the World would be in a better or worse position right now if Hillary was president instead of Trump?

ive answered that question many times over. its rather pointless to rehash this same discussion every week.

Can you point me in the direction of the answer?

HABERMAN: [In Paris], I don’t think I’ve seen you look like you were enjoying yourself that much since the convention, really.

TRUMP: I have had the best reviews on foreign land. So I go to Poland and make a speech. Enemies of mine in the media, enemies of mine are saying it was the greatest speech ever made on foreign soil by a president.

I just don't have words for this. Delusion off the scale.

Throwing Flynn under a few busses...
TRUMP: So think of this. Mike. He illegally leaks, and everyone thinks it is illegal, and by the way, it looks like it’s classified and all that stuff. So he got — not a smart guy — he got tricked into that, because they didn’t even ask him that question. They asked him another question, O.K.?

ffs  He really is a fecking parody. Wasn't the speech in Poland the one where they bussed in Trump-supporters from around the country to satisfy the snowflake? Also, isn't it reported that he won't go to the UK because demonstrations against him are to be expected - how does that fit with "best reviews on foreign land"?

ARABELLA KUSHNER: [enters room] Hi, Grandpa.

TRUMP: My granddaughter Arabella, who speaks — say hello to them in Chinese.

KUSHNER: Ni hao.

[laughter]

TRUMP: This is Ivanka. You know Ivanka.

IVANKA TRUMP: [from doorway] Hi, how are you? See you later, just wanted to come say hi.

TRUMP: She’s great. She speaks fluent Chinese. She’s amazing.

BAKER: That’s very impressive.

TRUMP: She spoke with President Xi [Jinping of China]. Honey? Can you say a few words in Chinese? Say, like, “I love you, Grandpa” —

KUSHNER: Wo ai ni, Grandpa.

BAKER: That’s great.

TRUMP: She’s unbelievable, huh?

[crosstalk]

TRUMP: Good, smart genes.

[laughter]

..........

TRUMP: Peter, that’s all I did, was make those speeches about her. … I don’t think I added anything much different than I had been doing. … I’ve made some very strong speeches about the corrupt emails. The 33,000 emails being deleted and bleached, and all of the things she was doing. I would make those speeches routinely. … There wasn’t much I could say about Hillary Clinton that was worse than what I was already saying.

HABERMAN: [laughs] I’m sorry.

In line with this tweet...

Wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised if this is something that gets discovered. These folks just cannot not put their feet in their mouths.

SCHMIDT: Last thing, if Mueller was looking at your finances and your family finances, unrelated to Russia — is that a red line?

HABERMAN: Would that be a breach of what his actual charge is?

TRUMP: I would say yeah. I would say yes. By the way, I would say, I don’t — I don’t — I mean, it’s possible there’s a condo or something, so, you know, I sell a lot of condo units, and somebody from Russia buys a condo, who knows?

We know full well that nearly every condo for sale in a Trump building gets snapped up by Russians time and time again and 99% of the time it's for money laundering purposes.

Can only hope that all comes out.

And it sounds like Trump has people literally crawling right up his arse at the moment, all over his bank records, tax returns, loan history, everything!

What does Trump do now? He fired Comey, he can't fire Mueller. If he does, that's an admission of guilt and he's fecked. If he doesn't and Mueller carries on his investigation in to everything Trump and his bank records then he's fecked.

Yet still I have deep reservations that anything will come from any of this. But look at it logically and look at the facts and you shouldn't be able to see any other conclusion than serious jail time for many people, and who really knows how far all this will go? Sadly, you are in the realms of the conspiracy theorist when considering how far this all goes and where it will end, and you are in the realms of the conspiracy theorist if you think that nothing will come of it all and no charges will be filed.

What a shitty state to be in, but if you elect a clown you really can't be surprised if he turns everything in to a circus.

If you read his NY Times interview today he is already laying a roadmap to fire Mueller. He suggested if Mueller starts looking into his finances apart from the Russia inquiry that would mean overstepping his bound and he is within his rights to terminate the probe.

Yes, I know, hence my post above pondering his only two choices. Either way he's fecked. Well you would think so anyway.

The two things are not mutually exclusive. She was a terrible candidate which was the only reason it was close enough for the election tampering to even matter.

Guardian said:
Kim Green, 52, agreed that Trump the man – his personal sympathies and his policy priorities – was more important than Trump the Republican.

“Because he’s for the common man,” she said. “And I don’t care what anybody says about how much money he has and everything else. He’s just like everybody else, he’s for us.”

“Or it’s the biggest scam America’s ever fell for,” Rich Green interjected. “One of the two.”

Trump supporters still fixate on Clinton as mood darkens

I think she should listen to that little voice inside her head. It's obviously getting louder.

That's a pretty harsh way to describe her husband.

John McCain doesn't give a feck about poor people with cancer

Am i missing something here? Why would McCain tell a cancer sufferer to move out of Arizona.

Context is important here. Was he telling her to move out of state because he doesn't want to help her or because other states have better medical facilities in dealing with the cancer?
