The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

The Sum of all Fears was good, though they fouled up the movie casting Ben Aflac and changing the antagonist to make it more politically correct. Thanks Obama.

That movie is the one I mention whenever asked which film I hate most.

NEW YORK -- House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley hesitated when asked about his party's core message to voters.

"That message is being worked on," the New York congressman said in an interview this past week. "We're doing everything we can to simplify it, but at the same time provide the meat behind it as well. So that's coming together now."

The admission from the No. 4 House Democrat - that his party lacks a clear, core message even amid Republican disarray - highlights the Democrats' dilemma eight months after President Donald Trump and the GOP dominated last fall's elections, in part, because Democrats lacked a consistent message.

When will they realize that anti-Trump is not exactly a political position for a opposition party? If they are going to flip GOP seats, they need a strong message and a charismatic leader.

Neither Bernie nor Warren can connect with Grassroots voters. Who else is there?

I'd say they need to recruit Joe Biden (though he's bit old) to run for president with Sanders/Warren as VP.

Candidates need to be saying the word 'health care' five times for every time they say the word 'Russia,'" Petkanas said. He added, "I think it's a fundamental mistake to make this election a referendum on impeachment."

Precisely. Trump is doing much to distance himself from "GOP Senators" who fail to pass bills. This is exactly the kind of logic that flies well with his voters. They have an anti-establishment president who is held back by the establishment (forget that the establishment is his own party)!

Rather than coming across as a "hurdle" they need to rebrand themselves as a legit alternative.

FFS, my grandmother posted this nonsense on FB today. I responded to set her straight though it ultimately won't matter.

One debunking link http://www.snopes.com/george-soros-ss-nazi-germany/ but I didn't post it - we know these clowns will immediately dismiss snopes claims.

See Mr Pessimistic, I told ya it wouldn't pass. Or were you just trying reverse psychology to jinx it?

I always plan for the worst and hope for the best mate .

This has to be Romney's revenge. His health care law which was adopted by Obama still stands.
Lee of Utah has no reason to please Trump.

Perhaps Romney will call Trump for a couple of dinners and then give him the finger.

Double entendre aside, that would be hilarious to see.

Someone on CNN just said that this healthcare bill is Trump's Vietnam and it will be impossible for him to get out of. It's actually a pretty decent debate at the moment, some valid points being made that the Republicans never had a plan for healthcare because it's not a problem they want to fix. Even Jeffery Lord said something that made sense when he said that Trump and the Republicans should have had a healthcare plan ready for the day after his inauguration.

Trump is a lazy bastard who only knows how to swindle others. So he left the details of the plan to insane people, called the Repoublican congress.

As a Republican pundit said. "You cannot take back something you have given".

Think about Social Security and Medicare which the Republicans fought tooth and nail. They all love it.

Yup, very true. I wrote a pretty lengthy post a few days ago and deleted it, but basically I was discussing how that it's the perfect time for a third party in the USA because of the differences in the Democratic party. With the Dems being centre right, it leaves space for a party to the left of the Dems, and one with stronger policies than the Green Party. However, in truth you could also separate the Republican party too because there is the centrist republicans and then the far right loons and then the normal right wing Republicans as well. Obviously it won't happen anytime soon and it would be almost impossible to break the hold from the Dems and Republicans, but it is an interesting problem at the moment that the two main parties are growing further and further apart from not only each other, but also from many of their lifelong supporters. That is so obvious with the division over the healthcare plan proposals and the arguments between the Republicans over it.

We all know that the Dems would be considered a right wing party in Europe, possibly centrist but they are certainly not liberal by European standards, and certainly not a left wing party that so many Republicans like to try to insult them by constantly throwing it at them as a slur. There was some absolute douche on Twitter the other day (what's new?) saying that he moved to the USA from a socialist country and that the Dems are more left wing than the oppressive government he grew up in. The replies he got from Republicans was astounding, he was like a hero. But, he was obviously completely full of shit, and I have doubts about everything he said. The point being though, is that so many Americans are completely unaware of what left wing really is, let alone socialism. You would think that a country with such a big military would kind of understand it all a bit more.

I wonder if this is more damaging for Ryan or for Trump...?

They just had the same discussion on CNN, really it should hurt them both, and the rest of the Republicans too. Ryan, McConnell and the rest have had 7 years to come up with an alternative plan to Obamacare yet they have got nothing, so they should be hammered for that. Trump campaigned on repealing and replacing Obamacare. In his own words on numerous occasions he said he would do it the day he was sworn in to office, and that it was "easy" and "simple" He gave up to three or four speeches a day at times, and every single one had the same core promises. To repeal and replace Obamacare. To sort out the tax codes and structures. To build the wall and make Mexico to pay for it. To lock Hillary up.

So much winning.

Tomorrow will be fun

It's such a shame that the phrase "transition period to a patient-centered health care system that give Americans access to quality, affordable care" actually means "screwing over patients in America for the benefit of insurance companies and our political donations".
