Television The Traitors (BBC) | Series 3 now airing. If you watch episodes on the iPlayer that haven't aired on the BBC television, put discussion in spoilers

He literally just did a “no u” again and they all went with it. Jesus Christ. I absolutely despise Sarah the absolute wet wipe. What a pathetic player she is.
It's pretty likely that faithfuls only hope is the traitors tearing themselves apart at this point.
It'll be 3v3 next episode and all 3 probable faithfuls have been painfully easy to manipulate.

Traitors and faithfuls working hard to outdo each other with awful ideas.
Traitors going for a needless 50/50 kill when they could've just killed off Sam, who is very unlikely to be banished. Anna then had the shield.

Faithfuls upon noticing that nobody has died, kinda figured out why but then had both people who could've had the shield under suspicion.
It wouldn't really make sense for Julia to try to kill Anna when she'd know Anna would have the shield. Then for Anna, even if the traitors could try to murder themselves, why would they do it when they could easily take out a faithful and just need to banish another to have 2 vs 2?

As with the Australian one (and the UK one) it will probably come down to whether or not the traitors ruin it for themselves.

Liam is annoyed
I'm annoyed at Liam for continually shutting down any suggestion that Sam (a pretty obvious traitor) might be a traitor throughout the game.

Down to the final 5 and the only traitor they have banished was down to betrayal by another traitor.

it's unbelievable. I want Sam to win it now. I find myself forgiving his arrogance-he has managed to shut them down several times so easily. I don't like him but he deserves to beat these chumps, and I was disappointed that they couldn't commit another murder to really push it home.

Just watched the Australian season final episode. :wenger:
The best ending possible
Faithfuls were absolutely hopeless and Sam was a pretty obvious traitor for so long, yet so was constantly bragging about how amazing he was.
Watching him whine after Camille didn't let him betray her was hilarious.
Did feel a bit bad for Blake as I think he would've gone with share had he not been teamed with someone like Sam there.

I agree 100% with everything you said here.

I was fecking fuming at Sarah again. She’s got to be the worst player in the history of the game worldwide. I think I hate her more than anyone in the world

If she was reliable enough in the banishment room I could’ve seen Blake going with the two faithfuls and getting rid of Sam, but she’s a pathetic useless twat and got swayed by the dumbest logic once again.

However that being said, fecking hilarious ending. Sam’s meltdown at not being allowed to steal was glorious  it was so obvious he’d steal because of his superiority complex and seeing Camille deny him that was so sweet. He thinks he deserves it because he played a good game? Annabel and Luke played good games and that got them killed. Sam got lucky he was surrounded by actual pond life because anyone worth their salt would’ve voted him out way earlier.

His petty reaction to losing like that sums him up and I think there’s a lot of red flags in terms of how he actually is as a person outside of the game.

Every time I see this thread bumped, I’m getting excited thinking there has been some news dropped in regards to the UK 2nd season

Might give the Aussie one a watch as hearing good things about it. Was the US one any good?

I do wonder if there'll be more people 'playing the game' straight away as opposed to naturally being who they are this time round in the UK one.

Might not quite have the magic of the first one where you could see the evolution of each contestant.

Dunno, I think it will be much better as they'll refine the concept a bit. While contestants will have really thought about how they're going to play beforehand.

Fingers crossed it is. It was brilliant last time regardless so the second one is always harder.

I dunno, found the tasks dull and the finale disappointing. The concepts great but needs refinement.

The interesting part of the show for me at least is the deduction side not the crappy gameshow tacked on.

Yeah, they need a monetary incentive to not give the game away because you have been double crossed.

Somehow, John Bercow has ended up on the US version.

Yeah, gimme.

I hope they don't throw in Z grade celebrities like they did in season two of the Oz one cause that ruined it.

For me they will need to really subvert how the format was used in the first series as there will inevitably be fans of the first season that have applied for the second season and they will be bound to pick up on how things were done.

Initial task - No-one is going to fall for the "least expected to win" line this time and people will be on the look out for people to be returning - so I think have an early traitor "exit" but that person stays around to help influence the other traitors. Will lost his way once he was on his own and made a poor choice in who to recruit and how he then behaved towards them.

Breakfast - this needs to be mixed up as the "last person in" was always a faithful last year. - People will undoubtedly pick up on this so they need another morning "cliffhanger" for the viewers, rather than the villagers.

Penalty for voting out a traitor - It was too easy for the traitors to fall on each other and sacrifice one so they could live on - and indeed it they shouldn't be allowed to offer a "parting gift" of another nomination as happened in series one. Sacrificing a traitor needs to come with a heavy financial penalty - such as losing a % of the prize pot or that person still having a claim on the traitor pot at the end of the series. I feel that many traitors will try and follow Will's "betrayal" tactics following season 1 unless they are dissuaded from doing so.

I felt the whole "secret couple" thing in season 1 was a bit of a staged thing to be honest, the actions of Tom once his partner became "on trial" looked a bit pre-rehearsed and staged to create maximum drama. If you are going to have "plants" in a series like this then that's fine but they should be used earlier to create some quick drama when everyone is at the "polite" stage.

I really hope the creative team have some new ideas, otherwise this series will go the way of Big Brother - with big fans of the show or character "types" being kept in, who attract a social media profile rather than for what they bring to the show or their powers of deduction. [Edit] Just now seeing that they are launching an "add-on" show - Traitors Uncloaked - does not fill me with confidence!

I'm a bit worried about this series. I just feel it's going to be a load of try hards. More so after reading this https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-67758541

130,000 people applying (from 3,000 last series) is insane but not surprising considering the popularity.

This bit is good to hear though.

Many of the international versions of the show enlist celebrities to be the players. But in the UK, the cast is once again made up of regular members of the public.

Producers have wisely kept the format broadly the same for the second series. Everything looks and feels just as it did before, only with 22 new faces.

However, a few minor tweaks have been made. One early twist from the first series is junked for the second because producers know contestants will be expecting it.

There is also no armoury this year, where players could win a shield to protect them from murder. Instead, the shields are baked into the physical challenges, known as missions.

Yeah I'm glad they are making some tweaks to the show, just expecting the worse from the players but hopefully I'll be surprised.

Not sure about a spin off show, they are never any good.

I did think it would be a good idea to see contestant reactions to being eliminated and finding out who it was. But not sure I'd be arsed to watch a separate show to see that.

Nice to see they're making a few tweaks and no celebrities is good, we'll probably see a celebrity special at some point anyway.

It felt like there was a lot of friends keeping friends in with the NZ version.

The weird cluedo like segment withe the four potential recruits had me laughing so hard. Horrific cringe.
Just top notch drama!

Paul looked far too giddy after they took their blindfolds off, wonder if anyone noticed.

Wasn't a big fan of how they worked the shields in to the first task. Though it did remind me a bit of the WW games we played with vendors.

Yeah, he may as well jumped on top of the table and started to dry hump the air. Can't wait to find out who the self proclaimed expert readers think are Traitors.

Did you notice all the traitors smiled at once as they took their blindfold off

Zack randomly accusing Paul of being Diane's son, then it turns out that Ross actually is
Brian's meltdown just before the vote was bizarre, I thought most would vote him because of it. Awkward now if Ash does stay with 2 of the other traitors voting her, you can see why they did though because she's obviously going soon either way.
