Television The Traitors (BBC) | Series 3 now airing. If you watch episodes on the iPlayer that haven't aired on the BBC television, put discussion in spoilers

I called the recruitment being Miles. His smile when he walked in at breakfast just looked like it had worry behind it. It’s the first time the viewer hasn’t known who one is so I’m quite chuffed I guessed it right (even if it was from a pool of 4).

Watching episode 1 now and i'm disappointed they show the viewer who the traitors are as I thought we would have to figure it out too.

Just watched episode one.

Charlotte

the army lad and the woman traitor both seem a bit shit. Ginger lad seems strong.

Anthony trying to figure out how to row. FFS

I don't remember this being as over-the-top dramatic last time. The music, Claudia Winkleman saying "oh and another thing I forgot...", the weird guy doing weights topless in his room, the music, the door-knocking scenes, ... It's all quite hammy.

It's very annoying

Nah it was definitely very dramatic. This does feel a bit worse though.

The army lad at least seems like he has a decent head for strategy so far. He didn't immediately go after Diane for throwing his name out immediately after the blindfolds and instead sought to throw her off his scent. He didn't vote in line with his fellow traitors in episode 2, which should give him some plausible deniability. And he raised Johnny as a potential murder on Night 2 after he publicly called out Ross. He's also repeatedly called for them to choose their murders randomly, which is the best way to avoid tactical murders being used against them.

It's just a shame his poker face isn't great.

Sorry if I spoiled anything by stupidly putting my above post in quotes rather than a spoiler originally. D'oh!

We're arranging the thread ban at this moment in time.

How orange is Claudia? I started adjusting my picture settings until I realised it was her.

Not sure how that would work – plus I love seeing the traitors meeting and deciding who to murder next. Also, I don't think you would really have much to go on at all to try and figure it out – the tasks everyone tries their best, so it would only be in the chats they have – and I think it would be impossible to try and piece it together when we inly see snippets of interactions.

Yeah, you can tell for example that the round table bit takes at least an hour. But they edit it down to a 5min segment.

I'm curious why none of them thought about who the Traitors would recruit, don't think anyone even mentioned it.

I'd honestly love a longer edit for people who are less interested in the dull tasks and want to hear more discussions.

Yeah episode 2 was a weird one. Didn’t feel like she stood out much at the round table yet almost everyone voted for her.

It can be a bit cringe. The guy lifting weights, the oul Wan knitting and the girl reading a book all looking at the door dramatically  doesn't make it fake but it does feel less authentic when they have them acting some scenes

Didn't think the logic Diane applied to Anthony being the traitor made sense "He didnt let me move down the line"

Yeah this was dumb. They hadn’t even selected Traitors at that point. People are still falling into the trap of silly accusations but there’s very little to go on that early.

Brian just seemed to absolutely spiral after he got called a sheep  absolutely brutal meltdown for no reason whatsoever. Who did Anthony vote first time round? Does that offer a clue as to who goes?

Such stupid accusations at times. Especially towards Zack. Yes he says stupid things but do they really think a traitor is going to be doing all these little throwaway murder comments? They’re going to make friends and stay under the radar, at least in the first few days.

It’s a great concept and good fun, but good lord it’s terribly produced. So much filler and short cuts between scenes.

The recent Survivor reboot handled the same kind of base premise far better.

I get the feeling that another editing team could take the same volume of footage and put together a far better product.

I was like "if it was me, time to throw Ash under the bus for an alibi". Those two know the game.

I feel like a few of them are voting people they don't like rather than going for actual Traitors.

They think they are on Big Brother

The music does my head in too.

In fairness the best strategy to win the game as a faithful is probably to not openly suspect a traitor unless the others do (like with Ash) and come across as their best friend. I don't think anyone is using this strategy though!

Pile ons are very easy early game with little to go on and Sonja probably didn't help herself too much with the stirring stuff.
Dianne literally suspecting Antony because she doesn't like him.

Kyra complaining that the other team went for the shields straight away after running off and grabbing one the day before when everyone else except the person who helped untie her was still tied up

Completely missed an obvious trick in revealing who had the shields.

The music does my head in too.

It’s waaaay too much. There’s a brilliant show in there.

If you’ve not watched Survivor, give it a watch. The chats and plotting are given more time, and the presenter is only in it for tasks and the five minute voting section. It’s a similar show, but has a lot more time to breathe, with characters plotting discussions getting far more screen time.

I hate reality tv for the most part, if that affects the recommend at all.

Brian having a disaster of a roundtable but at the same time naming probably the top traitor
Should've been very obvious after the first set of votes that Brain was unlikely to be a traitor, guy voted Paul rather than to try to save himself after that.
Paul is a very likeable traitor, so funny with it.
If Ash goes it could be a good look for the traitors tbh.

Agree with this!
They always make the same mistakes. Early guesses for the traitor tend to be focused on anyone who is a bit different, or who they perceive as ‘odd’. They discount the popular people - ‘no way they could be traitors!’ Up until they have eliminated several faithful and someone suggests trying a different approach!

And if she does indeed go, I agree this could be one of the strongest traitor groups I’ve seen. Paul and Miles are both well liked and trusted by almost all, and I actually think Harry is doing well. Think he is coming across as a typical squaddie - I don’t think anyone would have him down as a corporal! So I think he is being smarter than it appears.

The problem Paul's going to get which for some reason he mentioned is that he should be dead soon as he's someone that most consider as faithful. So why would the Traitors keep someone that the majority trusts and thinks is safe alive? He'll stick out in a few days.

I loved the first series of this, plus the US and Aussie versions. I'm going to wait until the show is finished so I can binge it.

Brian  what an eejit.

they’re still going off vibes though like before. Ash seemed the most obvious and yet loads of them randomly decide to go with Brian cause he was being a bit odd.

Feels like a bit of a feck up by the traitors to turn on Ash, though, she's definitely weak but if Brian was guaranteed so many votes they should have stuck with him.

I thought Paul had played a blinder as a traitor up until the point he himself pointed that out. Strange thing to do.

Yeah Harry could go quite far if he keeps up the loveable idiot persona. Just needs to act like he’s finding it all annoying that people are lying to him and other stupid shit and nobody will pick him out for a bit.

I really don't think Paul is as smart as he thinks he is, certainly not as much as Wilf was last year. I think they've gone for backstabbing another traitor so early on isn't required unless your neck was on the line. He also had zero influence in the group when he targeted Jaz. Harry at least seems to gain some traction with going after Zack.

Rooting for Jarrod Bowen aka Bryan Danielson aka Zack.

That’s who he reminds me of!

We’ve got nicknames for a couple. The Welsh bloke is Alex Reid, Tall Paul, Brian is Glass Animals, Ross looks like he has dwarfism from the shoulders up so he’s Dinklage.
