Sure they have but we’ve seen too many leaks from ‘sources’ close to the player that bang on about working hard in training, spending 25 hours a day practicing or asking Ronaldo how big his muscles were at the same age to spot a Rashford leak a mile off

His mate always gets a mention too. What was the one last time? Sources say Rashford works hard in training and players baffled why Lingard doesn’t start more?

Thankfully this is The Sun and all that kind of lark... But, if Rashford is here next season, I can definitely live with that. But if Lingard somehow survives yet another manager, then fml.

The key with these articles is the wording, all that’s been stated re: Lingard is that Ten Hag will speak to him (we’ve already heard he’ll speak to all players) and *if* he gets the reassurances he needs (he won’t) he *might* stay.

All weasley insubstantial nonsense.

Pseudonym’s are fairly common in journalism for quite a few reasons (including protecting sources). At least it’s an obvious one.

Wouldn't that mean giving him a new contract likely for more money that he is getting now, which is too much for what he gives. I actually can't see it. Do think he will want to take a look at Rashford.

I kind of understand this. The guy has spent 95% of the season on the bench/out of the squad. If other teams will make him a first team regular then I’d want assurances of the same from United before signing a new contract too.

He’s not good enough and needs to go though.

He broke into the Utd first team squad in 2015. He's played 230 times for Utd.

How many more chances do you want him to have? He's blatantly not good enough for Utd.

The problem with Lingard is he thinks he is better than what he is, that he should be starting rather than on the bench.

After it's clear he isn't playing regularly anymore, his form has dropped completely. Just like Rashford, compared to 2 years ago, he just does less.

On the contrary I would be very surprised if He can find use for such limited players as even at their best they were only suitable for pure Counter attacking football but hopefully we would be moving away from that next season .

I don't understand why you'd think that. We have years worth of experience to suggest they are not good enough for a team aspiring to win the league, yet you come to the conclusion that a smart and tactically astute man like Ten Hag who demands 100% from all players will look at them and see useful players.

I think it's more a case of some people trying to convince themselves that Ten Hag is a miracle worker and will turn water in to wine, when in all likelihood he'll be no different to Klopp and (to a lesser extent) Pep and require overhauling the team and signing players who fit the system before challenging for any major trophies.
 
Your standard english player bias from journos again that want english players to stay at united.

Just watched Henry Winter on stretford paddock yapping about how Declan Rice and Kane would be the best fit for united - without mentioning any foreign players.

What;s worse is he even mentioned we should sign Rice and make him captain straight away... :lol:
