Always thought that Spurs lack quality wide player, but when I saw how aggressive their fullback are, they probably do not need winger that much because their fullback provided much support from out wide, Walker and Rose probably are the fastest fullback in the league and if they can improve their crossing and decision making then it's scary how good they will be in the future

They aren't kids anymore, they need to deliver now, and in their defence they are starting to do it on a more regular basis.

They have become vital components to our team.[/QUOTE]

As for Pogba, would be very happy to visit again in 5 or 6 years, IMHO he doesn't have the footballing intelligence to reach a player of Modric's level, but as I've said repeatedly that isn't a slight on Pogba as there are very few players operating that are capable of reaching such a high level.

It would be as stupid to point out that Modric doesn’t have the physical presence of Pogba and therefore isn’t as good a player. The players are different and they have different strengths. As you say, very few players have a footballing intelligence (not a fan of the term though) to match Luka's, but it certainly doesn’t mean that these players couldn’t or wouldn’t be better than the Croatian.

Fair points, and like you mine is only opinion, not quite sure why it seemed to outrage some.

Can’t speak for others, in my opinion it’s always a bit simplistic to compare to players by ”Which one is the better player?”... There’s so many things to take into consideration; age, potential, position, playing style, strengths, weaknesses, stats, current team, role in current team, current league, injury history etc etc.

Damn I thought both of them are still 23, didn't realize that they are 26!!

Then what you said is right, they need to deliver right away, I initially thought they have some really poor decision making because they are still young and learning, many times I saw them making a great run and just waste the chance because some poor final ball or too long to make a pass

But I still think they are two of the best fullback in the league though

With Lloris joining the long list of players at Spurs who have signed new contracts since the end of last season, it now includes virtually everyone in our best XI ... excellent news!

That really is great news, expect Toby to be the next.

That's great for Spurs. Especially after the timid manner they slunk out of the CL this season.

Each of these current players signing extensions is like a trophy for the fans - they know these guys won't be going anywhere without a sizeable transfer fee being paid to the club.

Levy has done an excellent job signing up
our main players for the long haul.

That's a really shitty way of interpreting a contract extension :wenger:

It's so common for players today to start angling for a move even after half a good season, and in the process team breaks and you start all over again. Spurs had a great 2015/16 season by all accounts and they have managed to tie all of their best performers to a long term contract. Only Alderweireld is left and I'm sure they'll get that sorted soon enough. They should be commended for being pro active with the contracts as they don't put themselves in the predicament Arsenal find themselves currently in regards to Ozil and Sanchez because if the day comes and players force a move they will be able to command a hefty sum and invest it back in the squad. It's an astute way of running a club and not something which should be mocked at.

Agreed, that's what I said in my post... isn't it?

Plus Lamela.

For the most part boring to watch this season. And possibly the dirtiest team in the league?

They are a good team just lacking a particularly exciting player. I think they'll finish above Arsenal (and us) this season.

Dirty cnuts. Nasty team in the league by miles. They don't even play that better. Just trying to kick the opponents off the park.

Please temporary ban our favorite Spurs poster a day or two so we can go to bed in peace.

4-1 looks comfortable but was far from it for Spurs. Actually haven't played particularly well at all in this game, scored a couple of very lucky goals and the opposition received a pretty questionable red card.

Like last season, I don't see spurs staying the course of the season. Only this year, it won't just be 2 teams that finish ahead of them.

How has he been playing this season? From the little I've seen he definitely hasn't been worth "creaming" over.
Spurs as squad have been average overall. They don't look particularly good. They just work their socks off by playing dirty.

Decent team, technically limited but very strong physically. Good for the PL, but found out in Europe. They wont be finishing ahead of City/Liverpool and certainly not ahead of Arsenal.

Spurs have definitely had some favorable treatment from referees this season. Can't really deny that.

Still, despite not looking all that fantastic at any point this season, only one point outside the top 4. Have found a way to stay in the mix despite some key injuries to the likes of Kane and Alderweireld.

Going to be an exciting second half of the season.

For all the praise Spurs receive, they are only 3 points ahead of United and United already beat Spurs. Spurs are physically strong and resolute in defense, which allows them to stay in their matches until opposition breaks.

Jamie Rednapp reckons Delle Alli is one of the best midfielders in the world .... is world football so rubbish right now?!

First time Southampton have conceded 4 at St Marys in the league for 10 years.

Still not firing, but doing enough to hang about at the moment.

Solid player but wouldn't get into any of the midfields of the sides above them or United's.

Sky Sports creaming all over Alli.

A 20 year old who scored double figures in the league in his first ever season as a midfielder and is on track to do the same again?

How often does a player like that come about?

His overall game isn't incredible by any means and he needs a lot of work still on a lot of things.

But the ability to find those spaces in the boxes, the instinct and his goalscoring ability (despite missing some absolute sitters) is not a common attribute.

When you put it like that: if that was one of ours, say Pererria, we'd also be creaming it.

Exactly, he's one of the more exciting English talents but most of his critics are probably annoyed due to his ridiculous overrating and comparison to other players by Spurs fans on here.

Exactly. Alli has contributed 16 goals and 10 assists in 50 premier league matches. And he's 20.

As a comparison, Lampard didn't reach double figures in the league until his 10th season, Gerrard not until his 8th.

I'm not saying that he's the same type of player as those two or he's as good as blah blah. But its hardly surprising that an English sports channel would 'cream themselves' over an English player in an English team in the English league racking up stats not usually seen by players of his age in one of the better teams in the league.

What exactly are they allowed to get excited about?

This is an excellent post.
