You mean when all the Euro matches kick in (if they come 3rd in their group then it'll be the EL instead of the CL and that's even worse) ? Or when the injuries mount in their squad, which lacks depth according to Poch ? Of course they could finish 4th in their CL group (unlikely) and avoid injuries (no-one ever does - except Chelsea it seems) but then they're wishing on a prayer aren't they ?
You can't just assume they'll get injuries. And being in the EL wouldn't be worse, then they can rest key players.

But they'll be stronger in the second half of the season with Pochettino there

All the Euro matches? We've already played half of our group matches, we've also already had plenty of injuries and the suspension to Dembele.
You will likely have at least another 5 to go (more if you drop into the EL) and then the FAC and LC (oops, well maybe not that one) on top ;)

It all adds up, we played 60 games last season, probably 46-50 max this. You'll likely be in the 54-56 range.

And likewise you can't just assume they will a) rest key players (I know they did last season but this will depend if they are in the title race or just comfortable in the Top 4) and b) stronger with Poch. You are making assumptions too.

I don't think stronger under Poch is an assumption, he's clearly a very good manager.

As for the games we clearly aren't bothered about the LC, Poch has already said it will be a mixture of squad players and youngsters on Tuesday and if we are still in the CL and in a decent league position come January then I would expect the same in the FA Cup.

That's the definition of an assumption, you assume that a very good manager will make a team stronger. That's not a fact, that's an educated guess, an assumption.

Predicting Spurs will get stronger is a bit different to assuming they'll get injuries

Anyway I don't care if you disagree or whatever. That's what I think and that's that

Isn't it a bit of a "people shouldn't throw stones in glass houses" kind of situation to be criticizing Spurs for draws right at this moment?

If these results mean Spurs don't have depth then I guess no one does.

Well, being 1 point off the top of the table after this weekend's round of games isn't so bad. And we're still the only unbeaten team, with the Prem's best defensive record (only half the goals conceded by the team with the next best defensive record).

So all in all, I'll settle for that so far.

Plus Harry Kane is back in training, so hopefully we'll start scoring a few more goals soon.

I can only continue to chuckle at the notion that Pogba would "walk into" the Spurs midfield.

The guy has been the very definition of average so far ... and even that's being generous.

Atletico lost 1-0 today so we are now alongside them as having the best defensive record in any of Europes major leagues.

It will be difficult for us to maintain such a strong defensive record but it's still a strong platform for us to build from.

I would chuckle too .. but then I remember we blew £30m on Sissoko.

In fairness you can take any top 6 team and find not one but multiple players that they've blown similar money on.

Still think we'd be better off playing Sissokho at CM in the 4-1-4-1 though.

Waiting for everyone to come in and hammer Poch the same way they did Mourinho for telling his opponent how he should behave on the touchline. .

I think the big difference is his criticism doesn't also make him a massive hypocrite.

What happened? Switched off when Janssen scored his pen for 2-1.
I totally missed that - what happened?

‘I think it was strange that at the end of the game they started to complain"

‘The full-back Arnold should be sent off in the first-half, I have seen the tackle again on Ben Davies,’

‘So after that, it was strange when their bench started to complain with our bench. It is the referee’s authority to say if it was a penalty or not. It was strange.

‘They complained about a normal game, but maybe yes, they were lucky to finish with eleven on the pitch.'

of course it''s the ref call, but if you're allowed an opinion, Poch, why not Klopp?

Anyway, I'm not slating him, I like Poch, he's generally a classy guy. I just don't want to see him start going down the road of criticising oppo managers after losing a game.

He was livid post game and complained about Klopp and the Liverpool bench as above.

It's not been presented properly, the question he was responding to was about the Pool bench remonstrating with the 4th official in the last minute saying that Wimmer should be sent off. He was actually saying if they wanted Wimmer sent off then we could argue that the Liverpool player could also have been sent off, and we should just leave it to the ref.

It's been quoted to make it look dramatic when it was really a nothing comment.

Fair enough. As I say, I like Poch, and it would seem out of character for him to carry on like that.

He was seething with anger.

Don't be ridiculous, the full conference is less than 5 minutes long and is on YouTube. It's the final question that he is answering and he was completely calm and composed, was complimentary about Liverpool's squad strength etc and said that he was really happy with how our youngsters played.

If you think that's seething you must think you live in a very angry world.

Exactly right.

Anyone can see it here:

The quotes in question are right at the end.

I'm a body language coach and in my opinion he was like Mount Vesuvius prior to an eruption.

You can tell with his accent and the way his eyes move frantically during the discussion.

He really has no right to say how Klopp can act with his staff. He should apologise as soon as possible.

Nice trolling, but truth is you were caught out talking nonsense and are now trying to backtrack as if it was a joke.

Anyway the point remains that as usual it was the media trying to create a drama out of nothing.

I'm being deadly serious. I don't joke with bland Spurs fans.

Really poor performance today, we are not firing offensively at all, Eriksen and Son were particularly poor in offensive areas.

We need to sharpen up and quickly.

Spurs have looked fairly solid in the league but I must admit they haven't been able to make any impression in CL and looked surprisingly flat in most games. Playing all their games at Wembley hasn't helped them and injury to their 30 goals a season striker has further added to their woes.

Big derby coming up for them this Sunday.

Not the best start to their tricky fixture set coming up:

Bayer (H)
Arsenal (A)
WHU (H)
Monaco (A)
Chelsea (A)
Swansea (H)
CSKA (H)
United (A)

Be better if we featured earlier in this list.

They are woeful at the moment but wouldn't be surprised if they've turned it around by the time we face them.

Or maybe we'll catch them at the end of a tough, poor tiring set of fixtures.

If they can beat Monaco away, they are still in good shape, advancing automatically with a home win against a CSKA team they should be able to beat comfortably (in theory at least) at Wembley. But if they lose or draw to Monaco, they are pretty fecked.

Blame Levy. Aside from Kane they lack top of the line talent. Would any of Alli, Lamela, Sissoko, Eriksen or N'Kodou get into any of the other Top 6 teams?

6 games without a win since they beat City, weird season continues. City go 6 without a win, Spurs go 6 without a win, United 1 win in 7 or something. Crazy. Like the others Spurs will find a bit of form again soon. They've looked nothing like the team that demolished us a few weeks ago. Poor month and 4 tough games coming but I wouldn't be surprised to see them beat Arsenal as they haven't really had their bad run yet.
