Wasn't Kane bad at the start of previous season aswell? I think he started scoring after MD 6

We were crap today. But taking a point despite being so crap is a good sign. We're traditionally poor in August....and the first international break tends to come at a good time. Need to inject some pace into the squad, ideally with someone other than Zaha.

As for Kane, he's definitely not started well. It's a bit of a worry to be sure, but I tend to weigh 2 20+ goal seasons and a golden boot more than 3 poor games to start the season. More worried about Eriksen than Kane.

I just used the words crap and poor a lot for a short post....

He had a drought but his performances were very good. It was actually that period I became a fan of his.

Correct. He was a bit more match sharp last season though just a bit unfortunate with shots hitting woodwork or going just wide.

Kane only had 62mins of pre season. I think that is part of the reason why he looks so rusty. If you look at the outfield players starting for Spurs today, between them all they had 799mins in pre season. That's simply not good enough and its no wonder they all began so slow this season. They're a few games behind everyone else in terms of match fitness and sharpness.

They also have a not so good squad, Liverpool posses more talent than them while having similar running power.

They're in a tricky situation with not having the luxuries of a big transfer budget but sorely needing some personnel upgrades

Perhaps but you'd still take any of Spurs' back 5 over Liverpool's. In fact Spurs' 2nd choice goalie is better than Liverpool's first. They just need a goal threat from midfield or attack again and they're better than Liverpool.

Based on what? So far we've gained the same points from the same fixtures as last season, but have 2 more points than we had after Game Week 3 last season.

In a combined XI, the majority would certainly be Spurs players.

Kane loves a shit start, but he'll get there eventually.

Spurs look poor so far, they needed a quality signing or two to boost the team after last season, but they went for the depth route that fecked over rodgers before.

Perhaps Spurs have the stronger spine but Liverpool are way ahead when it comes to explosive offensive talent - which is what gives you success in this league.
Yeah valid point. They certainly lack pacey players with the ability to get past a player. A player like Mane would have been very good for Spurs.

Lloris
Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen(just) Rose
Firmino Dier Dembele Coutinho
Sturridge Kane (though not on current form)

8/11 for Spuds. Still 6 even if you were arguing for, say, Lovren over Vertonghen, or anybody else in the league over Kane's recent form.

Liverpool's attack is much better overall though.

Disagree, a solid defence is what almost always wins you the league.

Eriksen/Coutinho is close, too.
In a 4-3-3:
Lloris
Walker Aldeweireld Vertonghen Rose
Dembele Dier Alli
Mane Kane Coutinho/Eriksen

Could be closer to 9/10 of the 11 to Spurs...

Terrible first half performance today and although we played better in the second overall we were very fortunate to get any points. We need to improve and fast - too many players just have not started the season well at all, Kane is not a number 10 and that showed today, Alli was nowhere to be seen, Eriksen was really bloody awful. Wanyama is limited but played well I thought, Rose was superb and Vorm was our MOM.

I think this is the worrying one. Dembele may have been able to makeup for that though. It just felt you were missing someone to carry the ball into areas alli and eriksen were occupying today and able to pass it to them. Not to mention every attack died with Kane today. I hope you're right and poch has it in him to drop him for Janssen.

I think you'll have less problem when dembele is back, but its important you get some proper cover for him.

Everyone looking at Kane's stats is ignoring the fact that I felt he was the only one trying to get things going. When they got a foul he would show urgency to get things moving with long balls, such some didn't get their target but it shows something the rest of the team weren't showing.

We'll beat Spurs comfortably. Or else I am off to find another sport.
Presumably we won't be seeing you on here anymore now, you'll be following another sport. Or are you just full of hot air as I suspect?

Zaha harks back to the dismal signings Spurs used to make for fun. Woeful player. He's one of those (apparently) streaky players (like Bolasie) that doesn't even have the streaks to justify his inclusion.
Well your legendary manager rated him - he bought him !! The fact that Moyes sold him without playing him notwithstanding.

No, actually according to all sane football fans that has ever existed. People that doesn't class Ferguson as legendary is either idiots or too blinded by their hate of United.
Well then why was he questioning my use of the word "legendary"?

Fergie bought so many shit players in his last years. Zaha, Jones, Powell, Bebe, Henrique, Buttner, Overton etc

Him rating Zaha means nothing
