So Chelsea are going to do the double.
And that's the type of victories they should get used to. It will be another season without a single trophy and embarrassing European campaign. I really rate and appreciate this team, they have some brilliant players, but if Poch stays empty handed for another season or two I'd say it's rather disappointing for the Spurs fans. They're the moral victors tonight.
Another season without silverware
Ridiculous fans. Team having a great season and gave everything in the game, yet abandon them at first sight.
But apparently they can attract talent over us, they'll be fine with that logic, I think. But but they have had the bestest of seasons ahead of everyone.
Moral Wanyamas? They're the moral victors tonight.
I think it's eight now.
When M.Oliver helped CFC beat us in the last round of the FA Cup, that pretty much sealed the double for CFC.
I love you man, you're a good lad.
Spurs getting bitchslapped would normally make them go all Spursy but I think this team is better. It wont derail them from title bid imo
just the run of difficult fixtures while Chelsea are smashing M'boro & Sunderland, then?
agree though, they were a bit 'done over' today - better of the game generally, wonder goal against
Are these simply going to up similar to Newcastle of the mid to late 90's? All in all, I consider the best team of the last two seasons, and well quite comfortably really.....but their lack of killer instinct, especially given they need to make up for their slow starts is worrying, and the meltdown in Europe. Third times a charm? But I don't see them having another year with the Manchester clubs on the outs again, more or less the window has to be closed....but then again, I said that this year, would never have imagined City being so off the pace.
That's still not great for them. Portsmouth sticks out as a disappointing result more than the rest.7 @Klopper76
Spurs FA Cup Semi-Finals
1990-91: won 3:1 against Arsenal (ended up winning the thing)
1992-93: lost 1:0 to Arsenal
1994-95: lost 4:1 to Everton (Elland Road)
1998-99: lost 2:0 to Newcastle a.e.t (Old Trafford)
2000-01: lost 2:1 to Arsenal (Old Trafford)
2009-10: lost 2:0 to Portsmouth a.e.t
2011-12: lost 5:1 to Chelsea
2016-17: lost 4:2 to Chelsea
That was a pretty even match, that thundercnut from Matic did put the gloss on it for the Chavs
Mourinho manages Man Utd mate.Mourinho got it right with Chelsea.......and to be honest, Poch did as well for most of it, but when Hazard came on he didn't react. It's a bloody armada with him, but you have to react to that sort of substitution and he didn't.
Mourinho manages Man Utd mate.
Better yet rename it the "Peanut Butter grasps at straws because he can't celebrate his own club" thread. Can a moderator please please please rename this the 'Spursy thread'?
You can't say that when they've won nothing...
Over the last 2 seasons think how many tournaments they've been in (2 PLs, 2 FA Cups, 2 League Cups, 2 CLs, 2 ELs) and won absolutely nothing.
We've won more trophies over the last 10 months than Spurs have won over the last 10 years.
They're bright, they play with spring and swagger, but ultimately, they're losers.
Well I did, just like I would have said the same about Arsenal at times despite not winning anything. As a counter point, 2nd and 3rd > Winners and bottom half no? But either way that's a side track, you are correct that history won't remember them unless they win at some point, whereas Chelsea and Leicester will both be remembered.
Though obviously we(my generation) still remember Newcastle....so at what point do you actually forgot these exciting teams that don't get over the line?
How can people say with a straight face that Spurs were a better team than Leicester last season? Leicester lost 3 times all season, including numerous results against the 'big teams' when it mattered. They played direct attacking football, many dominant performances and for the most part didn't look like they would be caught.
By any Barometer you try to apply they were the best team last season.
Anyway to not go off track, looks like another season of being the moral victors for Spurs lies ahead. Many moral trophies in North London these days. To be honest I like the work Poch has done, and it is good to see a club growing organically as Spurs have done, but the love in displayed by so many United fans somewhat makes me want them to not do well. Petty, but then so is most things about being a football fan.
