The Second RedCafe Sheep Draft

I thought it was permissible till announcement? Why not? There were no reveals or obvious hints for me to take advantage.

Skizzo said there would be no changing of picks. It has been that way so far and if changed at all it would be after the round is over.

As for changing picks. Once you PM me a pick, that's your final choice. It will be too hard to keep track if people PM me multiple answers for one round because they keep changing.

No, made the criteria tougher, so scrapped the nationality rule. I'm too kind :)

And yes, some rounds will be somewhat easier. I just wanted to crush some morale while we get underway :)

There it is @Edgar Allan Pillow

Bad luck, mate. You have to live with your awful, awful, incredibly unlikeable picks for now.

Guys, you should at least wait until @Skizzo confirms that he wants me as an assistant. Who knows, maybe he hates me or doesn't want to share the fun or anything like that. If he agrees, you can add me to the conversations before you submit your next pick.

:wenger:

They are good players, but not ones I like in my draft teams. Had one player once in a previous draft and other never.

In fact I like another pair so much, but if they are blocked, the rest of carded players are sheep calibre straight. So saving them for last pick. Mixed reactions on current round for me!

Just putting this out there:

@Skizzo, there's a distinct possibility managers are being blocked out of games all the way through the last round. With my sheep-picking role in mind, I find myself in a bit of a conundrum: where do I then pick the sheep from?

My suggestions is we pick them from any unblocked players in the games they attempted to get into, starting with the first one. If there aren't enough players to pick sheep, extend to round.

Simple enough if you go by the actual criterion: You can pick two players who got booked or sent off from any match in any World Cup. Which means that you can pick any player who ever got booked or sent off in World Cup history as a sheep. That's how I would take it.

Yeah, that's one way to go about it, but whether you do that or are left scrounging in a bad game directly impacts the last round choices. Personally, I think my method may be more appropriate. In any case, as in the last round, sheep should never be better than the worst picked player. So, back to that Brazilian goalie...

I wish anto & Chester would curb their enthusiasm in sheep picking

But, but... It's a role thing. You sit around here wanting to know if you've pulled it off, I just want to know how many sheep I may need to come up with.

BTW, @Chesterlestreet, it does indeed have to be solely linked to the criteria. Otherwise you could have situations were I have no choice but to pick a sheep who is actually really really good and better than picked players.

Any carded player in a World Cup it is, and definitely worse than any picked player. I wouldn't mind some nominations...

There was this Iranian guy that caught my eye, always seemed to get a yellow. Every game.

People would have to be able to relate to them being sheep so, again, obscurity doesn't help. Sheep are probably going to go along the lines of Cha Du Ri, Antolín Alcaraz and John Pantsil. What about Demichelis and Lovren? Too good?

Someone is definitely getting this guy:

Can't go wrong with everyone's favourite Ivorian.

Alright you impatient bastards. Here I am just a few hours after the deadline and you're all flustered :)

Results incoming shortly.

@Balu if you're able to do the 10 am announcements that would be wonderful.

Deadline? Who cares about the deadline? I've been waiting for you to get back from coaching!

Can do. Just tell everyone to add me to the conversation in which they send you the picks. It shouldn't be a problem for me to do the morning reveal. EAP and Viva already added me in theirs.

This is unacceptable. We need to at least choose where Sheep's play. Obviously not GK's, but outfield choice should be given to managers, imo!
The sheep committee will look at your picks and choose accordingly. You picked Ronaldo and Thuram in the first round, doesn't look like you want a winger at all.

 The only positional allowance is to not get a player in a position you already have. As far as I can see, you have Nereo Rocco, who played as midfielder and IF, so arguably AM. I obviously won't complete a sheep midfield, so the next sheep for you will be defenders/strikers.

Interesting, only MJJ (in all likelihood) went for a pairing that's already been taken.

Can't do. :nono:

Sheep should be handicap, not a guarantee of loss. A Sheep in CB or ST is a sure loss of game. Wingers are recoverable provided I make my other picks are good. If you are going to ensure loss, then I may as well exit the game and play just to block others!

 Good luck finding a player better than Eboue in the other QFs...

That said, I don't think you even need to, as you now have to pick the third carded guy in that game which you haven't tried yet. This is exactly what I was thinking about when I asked @Skizzo yesterday.
