Gaming The RedCafe General/Random Gaming Chat Thread

Just seen a post on nintendo life, it doesnt work with cartridges and theres no way to add any other games, still want one though

Some guy on another forum mentioned something about a NES all in one a few days ago, and now says he's a bit ITK. He's also said that there are SNES and N64 prototypes that will happen if the NES one sells well.

There are.

Plus won't be long before some clever sod makes it upgradeable. I miss Liksang :(
Yeah someone will probably find a way to stick every game on there.

I knew about Liksang, but never bought anything from there. Shame how it ended up.

I'd do stuff for a N64 one.
It would be quite cool.

Not sure on the best site, but S.t.a.l.k.e.r series is awesome. Especially when you go to town on the mods.

Excellent choice ;)
I love the series, played the first one to bits when it came out. Played lots of mods for that one as well. Haven't really played CoP or Clear Sky with mods though, and I'm mostly interested in CoP as Clear Sky for me is the weakest one in the series. I just love the atmosphere in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, to run into a bloodsucker at night time is absolutely horrifying, among other things! I haven't played them in ages though, and lately I've been feeling the urge to play them again.

Oh so if anyone else knows a good site to buy CD-keys for steam that would be appreciated!

Far Cry 3 is so looong. I am around on half of it and it is already annoying me.

Also, the plot is as shit as that of the first game.

Try Green Man Gaming and also G2A. Make sure to look for the Steam logo when purchasing, as not all games will give a Steam key. Always check region, also.

In other news; Ubisoft is giving away a free game each month for the next few months. Splinter Cell this month - https://club.ubi.com/#!/en-US/ubi30

And this is a decent bundle for less than £3 - https://www.bundlestars.com/en/bundle/indie-legends-4-bundle

Great! I thought that they were doing so only for Prince of Persia.

Think I'm going to replay both the Tomb Raider games... loaded the first one up about an hour or so ago and it already feels epic again, compared with when I done the same with uncharted a couple months ago and I just felt bored pretty quick.

Tomb Raider clearly outdoes Uncharted for me personally, still need to play UC4 mind.

Can't wait for the next TR

Not sure what to make of the new Tomb Raider games, tbh, didn't much feel like Tomb Raider, but still decent adventure.

Well they veered off track ages ago, TOMB raider is lost partially now, although you do have tombs in these but it's not all set in them.

They don't feel like the old tomb raider games (medi packs and save crystals) but they do feel part of the story somehow. It's like a grown up version of the old games, plus, I have a feeling we're going to get something close to the original made a few years down the line, they're still busy telling the story of before the first game. Just something about these new ones which feels so so right.

Anyone raised on arcade games must remember how hard games were back then. Been playing Black Tiger on my Raspberry Pi, just can't get past this one particular boss.

Haven't played it, but looking at it, it looks rather good. I'll have to try it sometime.

It's unforgivable. Think i'll play Wardner tomorrow, one of my all time favourites.

Finished Gone Home after getting it for free on PSN. I don't understand the rave reviews, I thought it was a bit crap. What seemed like a horror game ended up
being a soppy teenage romance.

Anyone watching TI6 over the next two weeks (Dota 2) ?

Finally finished Broforce. Great fun, but those Hell levels were a bitch. The baddies just explode in the last level so non-gun bros are useless. You punch a baddie and he blows you up. The final boss is just ridiculous. Spent about an hour on it.

The ending was hilarious
High fiving the president, then RAMBRO pisses on Satan's grave. You get to control the stream of piss

I need more side-scrolling button mashing shoot em ups.

Yeah it's great fun, adored that game.

The Expendabros is worth a crack for free, not half as inventive, and very short, but still good.

Yeah I played Expendabros a while ago, which made me fork out for Broforce. It was a blast. I love how everything on the screen is blowupable. Then you feck yourself because you needed that platform to get up a ladder, but you've rocket launched it into dust.

I also love how the bro puns gets stupider as the game goes on.

Seems to be a lot of not-so-serious shoot em ups on Steam just now, which I'm going to jump on. Gigantic Army and Mercenary Kings look pretty fun. And there's one called Guns Gore & Cannoli. Not sure I can take a game with that title seriously, but the graphics and gameplay look pretty great.

Aye, I think the peak was TERRACOCKTER!!!!! especially as the gun went floppy. Agree about the completely destructible levels too, genius.

I got Mercenary Kings for "free" on the PS+, tbh it isn't very good, noting on the level of Broforce, that's for sure. Guns, Gore & Cannoli, I agree with the name, but it does look a load of craic.

It's great. As much fun as the missions are, just driving around is great  Better than all GTAs besides Vice City for me.
Yes. Love kicking people tbh.

Ooh, gonna play Jade Empire tonight, get to kick monsters and shit. Kicking.

Strange, the one thing I didn't much like about it was driving about, the cars didn't feel too good, IMO. Overall though, it's an absolute top game.
I like it. It's obviously not realistic at all, but I find it fun, ramming people off the road and everything.

Yes. Love kicking people tbh.
I like grabbing people and throwing them in the sea
