Gaming The RedCafe General/Random Gaming Chat Thread

There's a VN on Steam (@Olly) where you play a young girl on the way home from a stressful day at work, and...

- What is "Pub Encounter"?
It's a romance game where you can fall in love with one of several middle-aged men. All of them are experienced in life and have their own stories to tell. They may not be young, but they can love as deeply and passionately as anyone.

- The Story
After a rough day at work, you decide to walk a different way home to try and improve your mood. Walking down an unfamiliar street, you stumble across a bar named Audire that seems like it has a nice atmosphere. Unsure of what to expect, you open the door and find a group of high-class older men. What awaits you at Audire?

That is not a middle aged man. I've seen middle aged men in pubs and that is not one.

Because you seem a lil bit dodgy to me :nono:

I'm joking, but you never know.

A bit bored of gaming at the moment, and I've got way too many games backlogged. But for some strange reason, I decided to restart assassins creed black flag and it's got me hooked :/ easily the best in the series.

Gonna have another attempt at taking my PS3 apart later on and see if cleaning it can help with the YLOD. Need to scratch my R&C itch.

Seeing how much dust gets into my PC after a couple of months, I hate to think how much is in the PS3.

I got an A* in GCSE English Language for writing the plot to GTA IV (as I'd finished it the day before the exam).

It doesn't feel that great to play so far. Very clunky, doesn't feel fluid at all. It's basically up/down/left/right and shoot at things. Manoeuvring feels really off.

Ok, is it F2P? I'm busy for next week and a bit so will probably wait for a bit. Hopefully beta helps them fix the maneuvering I remember War Thunder initially was a problem too.

When I say the manoeuvring, I don't think it can be fixed as it's the design of the game. Moving isn't fluid at all, you can't tilt your ship for example and the world spins around you, you literally keep the same view and you go either up down left or right within it.

Ah I see. Not a deal breaker for me as long as it's fun. Will give it a go when I get back.

Just started Skyrim. Played it for like 3-4 hours a few years back, but didn't like it (it looked to me quite worse than the original Dragon Age), so giving it a retry. I hope I will enjoy it more this time.

I started playing it last week or so too. I'm not having much trouble getting into it, except not knowing what to do next. So much stuff to do!

I just picked up Out Of The Park 16 on the cheap, and OOTP17 is now out. I've never played one before so had no idea what to expect. I'm a very casual fan, so I think I might struggle.

It's just so... huge. I spent about almost 4 hours just looking at everything I need to do before even continuing once. Started piecing together my 25 man roster, then I dip into the minor leagues to see what prospects I have. Then I realise I've got about 10 minor league affiliates to scour through to see if there's anyone worth bringing up. There was about 100 acronyms I needed to look up so I knew what the mountains of numbers actually meant. Started having a look at tactics and orders, but after an hour of WTF I decided I'd just be the GM and not the TM for now. I'll stick to scouting and renewing contracts. Played the first pre-season game. Comprehensive loss at home to the Red Sox.

The interface looks so bloody good though. It's just a joy to browse around. It makes FM look pretty crappy.

I have one of them, 15 I think, gorgeous interface, indeed.

Not a fecking clue what to do in it, indeed.

They have an ice hockey version now(FHM/FHM2), also looks gorgeous, and is a bit more complicated than EHM, but seems far more approachable than OOTP. Still I've been looking for different games like FM, but none of them scratch the same itch, especially tactically they seem much less versatile. There's an American FOotball one coming out too, sometime, called Beyond The Sidelines, looking forward to that.

I never really got going with EHM. It just didn't really grab me, though I'm much more fond of hockey than baseball. I think you're right about the tactics. It's that side of FM that keeps me engrossed for so long. In my breif spells with OOTP and EHM, it seems more like running a business than the actual execution of the sport.

I'll persevere with OOTP for a bit longer. It looks too nice to abandon.

That's it, these are a bit more business tycoon/chairman that manager.

Someone was making an OOTP style skin for FM a while back on the SI Forum, but they stopped posting, was looking incredible too.

I'm close to waving the white flag with OOTP after 3 days solid of trying to wrap my head around it. I'm sure it's a great game, it gets rave reviews, and it's just wonderful to look at, but it has turned my brain to pudding. I now see everything in acronyms and decimals. WTF 0.67 CBA 1.91 GTFO 99.9 LOL ROFL FML 0.0001

It's a shame, but it really does seem like a game for those that know about baseball inside out.

I could get to grips with the hockey ones much easier despite limited tactical knowledge of the game, but they still don't have the pull of FM.

The first Elusive Target for Hitman begins tomorrow:

https://hitman.com/en-us/news/this-week-in-hitman-11-5-16#

This week in HITMAN, we’re officially releasing the first ever ‘Elusive Target’.

At some point on Friday during European hours, we’ll update the Elusive Target tile on the Featured Hub in-game and the contract will be live. Make sure you’re ready, because you'll only have 48 hours and there won’t be any second chances.

An Elusive Target is the closest thing to the Hitman fantasy that we've ever created. Each one is a custom-created character with their own backstory and their own unique reason for being in that location. We call them Elusive Targets because they are added to an existing location for a limited time in real-time and you'll only have one chance to take them down. If you kill them, that's the way that you killed them. There are no do-overs and no second chances. When an Elusive Target leaves the game world, they never return.

As always, Diana will brief you with critical intel that will help you track down and kill the target. That intel is more important than ever because Elusive Targets do not appear as targets on the mini map or instinct. You'll need to explore, find your target, study their movements and come up with a plan to eliminate them - all whilst playing. The pressure will be on when you've got the target in your sights. If you miss the shot and chaos breaks loose, you will need to have a plan B, because the save-game is disabled during an Elusive Target contract.

We know that Elusive Targets are not going to be easy, they were designed that way. If you can prove yourself, you’ll earn in-game rewards for completing multiple Elusive Target contracts. You will receive the first reward for successfully completing 5 Elusive Target contracts and the reward will be the signature suit from Hitman: Absolution. The reward for completing 10 Elusive Target contracts is the signature suit from Blood Money. Future rewards will include versions of those suits with gloves. Check out the signature HMA suit below.

Need a recap? This is Elusive Targets in a nutshell:

- Elusive Targets are added to the game for a limited time in real-time. They won’t return.
- You only get one chance to take them down. If you die, you fail the contract and cannot retry it.
- Elusive Targets do not show up on the in-game map or Instinct. You need to locate and identify them with limited intel.
- Earn in-game rewards for completing multiple Elusive Target contracts throughout the season.

That’s the big news, but there’s a lot more happening in HITMAN this week, aka the week after the week after Sapienza.

We’re adding two new Escalation Contracts to the game. You'll need your Battle Axe for this first one in Paris.

129355709314.315.ad7e00026c93722b69e5584631015254.jpg

The Kotti Paradigm is a very unique Escalation Contract, which was based off a contract created by Hitman speedrunner, TheKotti. And then we ramped up the difficulty.
This Escalation Contract has only three stages, but each stage has two complications. We've shown some of the contract on our Twitch channel but could only complete stage one successfully - and it was a long way from a Silent Assassin run. We know you can do better. Good luck.

When you've completed it (or need a break from the Battle Axe), this week's other Escalation Contract is in Sapienza.

The Scarlatti Covenant features the usual five stages and you'll need to make use of a priest disguise and explosive kills to complete this one. This contract will also be the focus of our next livestream on the HITMAN Twitch channel at our (semi-)regular slot of 2pm CEST on Fridays. Sidsel, Torben and Travis will broadcast live and direct from the IOI studio and will be taking your questions from chat.

This is a genuinely exciting week for us, we can’t wait to see your reactions and playthroughs of the first Elusive Target. We recommend you keep your eyes on our Twitter page for all the latest updates.
Remember that there are no second chances. Good luck and don’t miss out.

I think these sound really good - I like how they are not highlighted on the map or via your instinct, so you have to figure out who they are and do it all in real time based on the intelligence you receive. If this is done well, then it could be excellent.

I also really like the new Sapienza level. The mansion in Paris was good, but this town feels much more alive and open - with many more possibilities. I haven't put too much time into it so far, but looking forward to.

Does anyone here play Halo Online? The version that was ported to PC.
I've started playing it lately, it's brilliant.
