Gaming The RedCafe General/Random Gaming Chat Thread

I finished IV but not San Andreas (barely even started it).

Yeah the multiple characters seem like it might be pretty cool. I hope I don't have to switch to the dog too often though, that might get annoying

Is there any snow in the game like the intro mission? It'd be cool to drive around in that weather rather than it just being sunny all the time.

Youre only forced to use the dog once or twice iirc.

It's usually just sunny or raining pretty much. Lightning and storms too obviously and in between but no snow unfortunately.

You will have a bit of driving in the snow during the campaign but only during set missions.

Online usually gets snow around Christmas time, only lasts for a few days and its a fecking nightmare to drive in and do heists  not sure if it goes into SP too during the Christmas period.

Ah, that's good to hear (about the dog).

Shame about the snow, but rain and storms can be cool in these kind of games, so that's something anyway.

Sounds like I might have to use one of my Xbox Live trial codes at Christmas to experience that :D

Enjoying GTA V so far. So far I'm up to the point where I've recently unlocked Trevor, and have just done the mission where you have to fly the plane for the first time.

Game trailers are closing down.

So defy media buy them in August 2014 and lay off half the staff at the start. And now do this. Can anyone explain the purpose of buying them was?

Just been reading about the new hitman game, no physical copy till December? Releasing it in parts?

What the feck is all that about? Ridiculous.

Be about £183847 on the stores too.

Square have a hard on for episodic content atm.
At least its a game that makes some sense for it,
as opposed to ... say a heavily story driven game ...

I don't mind too much. The last game wasn't particularly well received in that it strayed from the traditional hitman experience and formula. It sounds as though they are returning to what the series has always done best, which is good. This method of release means people can effectively pay to try a small portion of the game, and then buy the rest if they like it.

While I would personally prefer to have the whole game in March, if I had a choice between having a few levels in March with the rest arriving during the year, or waiting until September to play it at all, then I would go for getting access as soon as possible.

Have preordered from the store and really looking forward to it - Beta starts on Friday.

The HITMAN Beta launches this week on PS4 and then comes to PC a week later. This FAQ answers all of the need-to-know questions about the HITMAN Beta as well as the most frequently asked questions from our community. But before that, enjoy the HITMAN Beta Launch Trailer!

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE BETA?
The HITMAN Prologue. That’s the very beginning of the game, set at a top secret recruitment and training facility. The Prologue revolves around how Agent 47 joined the ICA and shows the first time that 47 meets his long-time handler, Diana Burnwood.

The Prologue contains an introduction to the gameplay features and mechanics in HITMAN, and two free-form training hits. You’ll be able to replay each hit as many times as you wish throughout the beta period to complete the challenges and the multiple ways to take down your target – as you would expect.

HOW DO I GET ACCESS?
The only way to guarantee your access to the HITMAN Beta is to pre-order the game digitally on PlayStation 4 via PSN or PC via Steam. Alternatively, you can pre-order the Collector’s Edition.
Access to the HITMAN Beta is available for the pre-orders of the Full Experience, Intro Pack and Collector’s Edition.

WHERE CAN I GIVE FEEDBACK?
There are many places you can give feedback. Our preferred option is the dedicated HITMAN Beta area of the Square Enix Forums. However, we know that the HITMAN community can be found in many places. We’ll be listening to feedback in all of these places, but won’t be able to reply to each and every comment. When the Beta concludes, we’ll send out a survey to everyone that played and connected the game to their Square Enix Members account, so look out for that!

Square Enix Forums / Hitman Forum / Hitman Subreddit / Hitman Steam Group / Hitman Twitter

HOW WILL ME PLAYING THE BETA HELP THE GAME?
First of all, by just playing the Beta, it will help us to make sure our infrastructure and technology is ready and primed for March 11th. That means testing our servers more than we’ve been able to do ourselves and providing us with valuable player metrics. We’ll be able to track lots of statistics that will tell us where you kill your targets, where you die and which items are the most used, for example. We can use this information to refine and improve the game.

Secondly, we hope that you’ll take the time to sound off in the forums or on any of the places mentioned above with your thoughts, opinions and feedback on all aspects of the game. In Hitman Absolution, we patched the game with an adjustment to how quickly players were detected when wearing a disguise. This was based on feedback from our players. Feedback such as this is exactly what we want to hear as we will be able to review and adjust these matters before we release the game on March 11th. We cannot overstate how important and valuable this feedback will be to us.

Thirdly, we will be sending out a survey about your experiences after each beta period. This will allow us to gather specific data and opinions and then create more structured reports based on your direct feedback. Survey invitations will drop into the email inbox registered with your Square Enix Membership.

As a final note, we will also be forming the HITMAN Player Panel during the beta period. This is yet another way for us to directly interact with a small number of players to get their thoughts and feedback on HITMAN. We’ll be talking more about this in the future but thought it was important to let you know some of our plans for improving our game based on player input.

Errr you have the witcher to complete first

Square are basically cnuts
Would you prefer they released the game in one hit in September/October?

This way, I get to play the game sooner, and they can improve the game based on feedback. As they say in the notes above - it's not just the technical aspects of the game, but the gameplay settings that they need feedback in order to optimise.

Also, people can just buy the intro pack and then decide if they want to buy more. I don't see what the issues is - people wanting the full game right now isn't an option.

I was speaking in more general terms (and definitely not about Hitman - I actually quite like the idea of episodic content for that game).

And Firewatch...

And Assassin's Creed Syndicate (plus the Jack the Ripper DLC)

And Tomb Raider...

and of course GTA Online...

I still have to complete ac syndicate too,

Did they take the money straight away? Or do they still do it 2 days before release?

Second part of the Pillars of Eternity expansion is out

Just played someone on Rocket League called "Edwin Van Der Car" Best name I've seen in years.

Minority opinion, but I didn't think Absolution was as bad as others made it out to be. Looking forward to the new one.

Absolution was nothing like a Hitman game though.

I'm glad they gone back to their roots with this one. Blood money was fantastic.

Just like the latest Thief wasn't really a Thief game. Decent enough when you play it for what it is, though.

Blood Money is still the GOAT.

Where is he? He doesn't seem to talk about gaming much. Miss his excitement for upcoming games.

Heh, I still remember @Alock1 jizzing over it for some weird reason. Decent game at best.

Not sure I was jizzing over it but I did really enjoy it aye, me and my mate were trying to beat eachothers scores on each mission which was great craic.
