How did you mod it? I'd have been shitting myself messing with something that cost that much
That sounds more like it.I modded it for NTSC games and RGB output through UK tvs. The Snes was for full screen @60hz as opposed to the bordered PAL shite we got. I've done all sorts on other machines, but not as bad as one of my old workmates who blew up a £10k Gamecube dev kit fecking around with it
Had it in my wishlist for ages, but something keeps putting me off.Has anyone played Sunless Sea? I had been meaning to play it for ages and after reading the New Yorker rate it as the most memorable game of 2015, I decided to give it a go. Played 10 hours straight yesterday after booting it up for the first time. A well-written, captivating and atmospheric indie game.
Well Olly are arse cameras and hours of bad exposition your thing ? Then Mr Kojima is the go to man.Has anyone else never played a Kojima game? With all the hype around him recently I was thinking that apart from about five minutes of MGS2 I haven't played any of his games.

No but really MGS 1(Twin Snakes on the gamecube is the most acceptable version) is well worth picking up although it's worth a ton(Well around £50)on ebay and the most recent is Metal Gear is one of the best and worst game this year(Also hear good things about MG3 but haven't played it.)The rest of the Metal Gear series is complete shite of the highest order. The guy has got great ideas but badly..... badly needs a editor.
Still interested to see what he does next.
Can't believe the prices it's going for, at one stage I had two copies of that fecking game(Sold it for dirt cheap along with about 50 others because I wanted a PS2 and PES 5). The best way I can describe a Hideo Kojima game is image watching Pulp Fiction except it's not written and directed by Quentin Tarantino but by Ron Jeremy.
Yeah I was considering trying Twin Snakes before, until I saw the prices it goes for. Maybe I should get the Japanese version since it's a bit cheaper. I know I wont be able to understand what's going on, but I'd be skipping all the cutscenes and stuff anyway.
Is there going to be a redcafe game of the year poll?
Would be interesting to see which game wins.
Hmmm, Bloodborne is kind of in with a shout too, but I'd probably give it to Witcher, so much fun, style, variety. No it wouldn't, its clearly the witcher 3. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong and should be strapped to a rocket and shot into outer space

Also speaking about skipping cutscenes -
EDIT - Actually you can just get the HD collection(PS3/XBOX 360/PS Vita) for like £20

I know that pain, have some special edition of the new Assassins Creed, still in it's wrapper. Feck that though, more GTA!Still haven't played bloodborne, sure I have bought it too
I clocked it, and you spend the first 800 hours of MGSV sitting in a hospital bed. With optional nurse cleavage perving. Then you spend another 800 running around a hospital with a blokes exposed ass crack zoomed into at every opportunity while trying to escape some kind of Sauron knockoff. From watching that video I'm pretty sure I'd go crazy if I was forced to watch all those cutscenes.
Yeah the HD collection is a good idea, forgot about that.
Also;
Well, if there's cleavage...I clocked it, and you spend the first 800 hours of MGSV sitting in a hospital bed. With optional nurse cleavage perving. I'm sure the 3rd 800 hours are good, though!
It's great cleavage, tbf.Well, if there's cleavage...
good idea, think I'll make a threadIs there going to be a redcafe game of the year poll?

https://www.redcafe.net/threads/the-cafs-game-of-the-year-awards.226640/First to find somewhere to copy and paste the categories from
Yeah that's the one I found too
Better get a PS4 then. It's great cleavage, tbf.
I can't see a better reason.Better get a PS4 then.
With Weaste no longer here, I think I shall agree.I can't see a better reason.
We're talking about classic games yet not one of you has mentioned the greatest 2D game ever.
Do you think it's better to have a list of categories like that or everyone submits there top 10 games and I can just use this template from neogaf to decide the winner
I would not use anything from Neogaf to base something on, TBH.Do you think it's better to have a list of categories like that or everyone submits there top 10 games and I can just use this template from neogaf to decide the winner

His cleavage wasn't quite as good as MSG's.With Weaste no longer here, I think I shall agree.
He's incorrect though, FFVI and Suikoden I+II were 2d, his argument is invalid. While searching for that old GOTY thread, I have decided that there aren't enough good video game threads compared to a few years ago. Who knew @esmufc07 had such good taste
I don't think there's anyone here to talk about Super Metroid with these days
His cleavage wasn't quite as good as MSG's.
Well Super Metroid isn't Yoshi's Island, so he's obviously wrong. But as Super Metroid is so brilliant I can forgive him for mixing the two up.He's incorrect though, FFVI and Suikoden I+II were 2d, his argument is invalid.
I need to play Yoshi's Island again, been far, far too long.

Unfortuantely unless it has Pokemon in the title, I can't be doing with turn-based battles and random encounters, so I'm not familiar with those two (three).
Yes, yes you do What version have you played? GBA?I need to play Yoshi's Island again, been far, far too long.
Yup! GBA it is.Yes, yes you do What version have you played? GBA?
@Alock1 said he was going to play it but I bet he hasn't, the swine.
Ok I went for categoriesI would not use anything from Neogaf to base something on, TBH.
But seriously, I'm not sure. I quite like categories as I find it easier than having to try and come up with an ordered list. But either would be good.
Ah right, cool. Still need to get a backlit GBA/DS Lite to properly appreciate my GBA games.Yup! GBA it is.
Cool, nice oneOk I went for categories
What's Metal Gear Rising like? Looks like it might be more my kind of Metal Gear game (yes I know it's not a "proper" Metal Gear game) with my whole thing about gameplay > anything else > story.
Cool, sounds good. Looks nice and crazy, which I can imagine being a lot of fun. It's incredible. It may not have the bottomless depth that Bayonetta has, but it's still very difficult to master, & immensely satisfying to pull off.
The Steam Winter Sale starts on Dec. 22nd, so it might be worth waiting until then.
Love them all. He's one of the most influential game developers but probably not to your liking given he played a big part in "cinematization" of games, and his games are never of the pick-up-and-play, but rather a mix of stealth gameplay, and over-the-top highly stylized cut-scenes and story.Has anyone else never played a Kojima game? I like stealth gameplay, so it's a rather unfortunate combination for me.Love them all.
