Gaming The RedCafe General/Random Gaming Chat Thread

Ah man, there's some issue with my computer that's making the cpu downclock to 0,8 ghz. I can almost forget about gaming for the time being. Almost. Perfect excuse to finally get into Planescape: Torment which I'm enjoying at a cinematic 15 fps. I've been meaning to play it for years, and after a couple of hours I can tell it's gonna be quite a ride.

I hope you spanked your int up to 18+.

Int 17, but bumped it to 18 early. Started with 18 Wisdom as well.

It's a fascinating game really, weird as hell. Very wordy though, so it will probably take a while to get through, but I'm really enjoying it.

:mad:I feel the need to share my frustration: downloaded Metal Gear Rising: revengeance for PS3 a little while ago.
Have just reached the last boss (first playthrough, on 'hard'). This has got to be the most frustrating final boss ever. Why the huge ramp-up of difficulty right at the end???
Slowly getting closer to doing this after many, many attempts. It's become a test of wilpower rather than a pleasure to finish this game off.

The Senator? Can't remember having too much trouble with him.

Jetstream Sam though, that guy brought me very close to smashing my controller.

Metal Gear Rising is awesome, but even as a Platinum games vet, I gotta admit I do suck at the Armstrong fight on higher difficulties.

Funnily enough, I beat Sam at the second attempt.
The Senator I am well over 50+ tries already (it's that damn 'blade mode' bit). I will get there, if it kills me (or my controller)

Beat the fecker eventually.....after my 5th long-ish gaming session to make the attempt.
I really need to pick something easier for my next game........

I got The Witcher yesterday (the first one). It's not the kind of game I'd usually buy, but it was 99p and still had the cool slipcover on it so thought it was worth a shot.

Have you played other games in the series already? If not, don't let Witcher 1 put you off. The combat is hilariously bad in that game.

Is anybody into Zombies? Its the only reason i bought Black Ops. Not touched multiplayer yet but probably will do eventually. I am getting pissed off with the idiots running around ignoring the need for juggernog and everyone dying on wave 8/9.

If anybody wants a game at some point (of Zombies) then message me.

Nope, haven't played any of them.

Well, you've been warned. Witcher 1 isn't a bad game, but it's janky as hell by 2015 standards. 2 & 3 are much better (although some would disagree).

TBH though I rarely play those kind of games, so I might not be aware of what modern standards for them are like :p

I played the first few levels of Timesplitters Future Perfect last night. I'm liking it a lot! I was disappointed when I played the first one, after loving the second one so much, but this one definitely feels much more like the second. Really good so far.

I played this the other day. I found it absolutely hilarious. Even though Msn Messenger was the big thing when I was in school, AIM seems very similar and the game was very nostalgic.
Yeah Msn Messenger was the main when I was school as well(I cringe when remembering some of the stuff I wrote on personal profile page). Also the ending killed me, as soon as it finished I tried looking up to see if there was another happier ending, I mean it can't just end like that but yeah it really does.

Haha yeh, when he keeps deleting what you want him to say was so frustrating. I absolutely lost it when he typed in "so hows the weather?".

The story was excellent. The multiplayer was out of this world. We played 4 player split screen and it was so good that even the girls loved it.

I have to say I haven't really been paying much attention to the story, but the gameplay and general feel of the game is really similar to the second. I'm not sure what it was about the first, but it just felt off.

I had to replay the first few levels today as I didn't save last night, but I enjoyed redoing it, which I guess is the sign of a good game!

Recommend me some games, guys. I have free time for a bit which I won't get for a long time. Less graphics intensive pc games I can play on my laptop.

So far I've got the following to go through

Undertale
Gemini rue
Transistor
Gun point

Only transistor seems to be appealing right now.

I'm thinking of trying ori and the blind forest and everybody's gone to rapture.

I decided to start a sealed collection of my favourite games throughout my life so far. This was after I saw COD4 was selling for a mere £10 on Amazon. I bought a few copies for this and also for future use, LAN games at my flat etc, though having said that the cases are slightly different, I'd like to find one that's exactly the same as the one I have already but sealed. Next up I plan to get GTA III, Vice City & San Andreas for PS2, and Banjo Kazooie for N64.

Sealed collecting is serious business, good luck!

You wont have much trouble with the GTAs, but Banjo Kazooie will cost you quite a bit.

Cheers. Technically I should go after the Pokemon games too but they go for a bomb and I spend enough on the old cards haha. The good thing about Banjo Kazooie is that despite people who played it absolutely loving it, it was never as popular as a Pokemon or Zelda for example so I have good hopes for getting it.

Will you not be tempted to open them? Surely the red strip and thought of hearing the crispness of the cellophane will be too tempting?

I really want to open a sealed game now.

Not at all! I've played them all to death and it's not like I don't know what's inside haha, I definitely wont have any urge to open them!

Well you've got more control than I would have.

I have too many favourite games on NES/SNES though, so for the prices I'd have to pay for sealed versions of those I'd probably be able to stop myself.

Ori and the Blind Forest is one of my all timme favourite games, but it is pretty damn beautiful... Might be a bit too system intensive for a laptop.

Shovel Knight, Volgar the Viking, Super Meat Boy, VVVVVV, One Finger Death Punch :)

Haven't play it myself but heard good things about Downwell

Shovel Knight is better than any of its influences (Mega Man can't compare to the Knight, baby)!

Super Meat Boy is very good, but also very hard. Very, very hard.
