6 > 9 > 8 > 12 > 7 > 10

Also, the most overrated rpg is Chrono Trigger, followed by FF7.

Not sure about the placement of 8, but 6 & 9 up top... I dig it.

Chrono Trigger is a 7-8/10 game that people seem to look at with a 10/10 attitude. FF7 is an 8/10 out of game that fans consider to be 1489108592785873286787/10.

For it's hardcore fanbase alone, Final Fantasy VII > Skyrim > Chrono Trigger.

Both Chrono Trigger & FF7 are good games :) Not disputing that at all. I do replay FF7 every few years...

It was mayhem on release though, no real internet to speak of so the buzz around school and all that from magazines was immense. And to be fair, it was the first game that noticeably used cgi scenes well.

Though I said it then, and I'll forever say it more, 6 is superior. One of the the first real open world games that caught major attention and 7 then went more linear so a lot of us was let down by that.

Still it was one of the best experiences in gaming the day 7 was released and every day we couldn't wait to talk about it and compare experiences. It's a lot less fun these days arguing about games over the net, I feel sorry for those people who haven't experienced a truly unspoiled major launch only spread by word of mouth and a couple of small magazine images.
We have made this debate before, but anyway. 7 is slightly better than 6. 6 started strong and the first half of it is easily the best I have seen in any video game, but THe World of Ruin (second part) is a level or two below it. FF7 while never reaches the heights of the World of Balance, it goes near it. But more importantly, it is ridiculously consistent from the start to the finish. Still, I would give both of them 10/10 rating.

My rating of FF games I have played is:
1) Final Fantasy VII - 10/10
2) Final Fantasy VI - 10/10
3) Final Fantasy IX - 9/10
4) Chrono Trigger - 9/10 (it is an FF game despite that it isn't)
5) Final Fantasy IV - 8/10
6) Final Fantasy VIII - 8/10

I'd give IX a 10/10 as well, tbh, magical game. Magical.

4) Chrono Trigger - 9/10 (it is an FF game despite that it isn't)
I always say that about Lost Odyssey, the best Final Fantasy(despite...) since IX.

I always thought of Chrono Trigger as being kind of connected to Secret of Mana for some reason.
I used to get the same vibe before I'd played either, weird....

.

The antagonist - and the final boss fight - are a bit poor IMO. Otherwise, it is on pair with 6 and 7, but they have Kefka and Sephiroth which might be at the top of antagonists in video games.

If IX had faster combat speed, it would probably just about edge out VI for me as my favourite game of all time. Damn PAL version :(

Them and Luca Blight. (Yes, I know, shut up about Suikoden Earthquake....)

Fair enough though, Kuja's not quite on that level, I'll agree there, but I don't think he's bad enough(or bad at all, tbh) to take that much away from the package as a whole. Like 6, I'd still give that a 10/10 despite the World Of Ruin being massively underwhelming.

The placement of 8 is because that's the game that gives me the most nostalgia. The soundtrack throughout the game is just brilliant, and eyes on me was almost always on replay through the hard days at the hospital both pre and post transplant, so it really sits deep.

You could say, trying to be objective, that the only real thing that any final fantasy fan SHOULD agree on, is that 6 is the undisputed champion, and 9 is the second best because it captures the essence of the series like no other.

And as people may know from the 52-games a year challenge, I love the final fantasy games, and replay them multiple times yearly. :p

I really need a lightsaber wielding game, I've redownloaded force unleashed 2 and Jedi academy, hopefully there are some decent graphics mods for Jedi academy.

Visceral need to hurry up with their game

What's everyone bought in the Steam sale so far? My missus got me a gift voucher as a surprise, so I'm looking for inspiration :)

Valve have screwed up royally here. £20 wallet funds for anyone logged in in the past month would be cool.

This showed up on that Neogaf link.

Reckon it's fake, though!

That would send me so far overdrawn that Natwest would turn up at my house with two 310lb bailiffs & a German Shepard.

I keep getting the urge to play world of Warcraft for some reason.

I'm playing it right now. It's nice, even after 9 years, to just be able to jump in & play with people I've known for ages.

Does anybody still play Commandos? For me hands down the best strategy games ever. Wish Eidos wake up and make another one.

Shit, I love this music. I really want to buy the game based on that single track

That's one depressing game, I don't know what happened, and my memory of that game was quite blurry. I was expecting another Secret of Mana, but it turns out that it's him and his dog.... I don't know, the whole atmosphere is very dark and moody

Yeah the atmosphere is kind of eerie, I like it though. Haven't played as much of the game as I'd like, but I'll fix that some time.
