So, when's the retail version of the Oculus Rift coming out and who's getting one?

I can't wait to go around killing virtual foes while smashing up my whole room.
 
Haven't played a game since July. Need to motivate myself to play a game. FF X has been in to-do list for more than 2 years but have yet to start it.

First 4 months of 2016. I was going to get one, but then the Vive was anounced. That's easily my pick now.

Jesus, don't play FFX. It'll ruin your enjoyment of JRPGs for years to come.

The story is horrible & ridiculous (imagine Batman releasing the Joker over and over but worse), the voice acting is beyond terrible, and the world is just one big boring corridor.

Gameplay is (mostly) good and the OST is of course fantastic.

Did you like FFVIII? If so, you might like it.

I liked (but not loved) FFVIII. Still, it was quite a good game IMO.

I am not expecting something similar to 6, 7 or 9, but some good FF game. THe story being horrible isn't good news though. The story (and the entire experience which comes with it) have always been a big part of the FF games.
 
6 & 9 are my faves, with 4 & 7 coming in close behind them. 8 I couldn't really bond with for multiple reasons.

10 is better than 8 in terms of pacing (everything just seems to happen on disc 4 in FF8)
8 is better than 10 in terms of actual story (because so much the 10 cast does is nonsensical)
8 has better world design
10 has better combat
8 has better characters (and I hate the 8 cast)

I don't know. Give it a go and see what you think... If you're not ready to throw your controller through the TV after seeing the lead character for more than an hour or two, I don't know what to tell you. You might be ill.

Is that even possible? I hated 8's quest, although Squall was Emo before Emo existed, but he still was so boring.
 
Believe me, it's possible. 8's love story compared to 9 is just laughabale :lol: Really have no idea how people think it's some sort of masterpiece of writing... Probably because FF fans (myself included in the past) are OTT, and everyone loves their first FF game way too much (except me because 6&9 > 7).

To be fair though, characters like Zell & Seifer... They're boring & generic, sure, but at least they're not insultingly stupid. And that's before the voice acting takes over, holy hell :D

Valve's VR solution, in partnership with HTC. Vive is targeting the high end of the VR market, with Oculus sitting below it, and Morpheus probably below that simply because it's bound to the PS4 which is pretty weak hardware.

Dunno man, I mean it looks good but Valve doesn't have the financial capabilities of facebook or Sony.

I also saw a clip on youtube comparing VR sets and Project Morpheus somehow came on top of the Oculus. Something to do with the capabilities of the PS4 eye and light source.
 
Valve have, by far, the most advanced tracking system. Lasers > all :drool: Valve also shared a lot of their secrets with Oculus (and later Sony), advancing both of their device ideas.

They'll be fine.
 
Undertale is now the highest rated PC game of all time on Metacritic, sitting at 97, 1 point ahead of Half Life 2.

Time to see what the fuss is all about? Might as well, it's only £7.

I've been thinking about getting it as well. I tend to dislike pixel art games, but it's said to be extremely funny.

I've only played for 20 minutes, so take my opinion with a truck of salt.

It... Has lots of charm. Nothing that's made me laugh like Psychonauts or <Any Platinum Game> yet, though.

The highest (and only) Final Fantasy game on that list is on the 92nd place. And that game is Final Fantasy XII. :rolleyes:
 
It's meant to be games that hold up today...

Which is why it's so bad. Why is Ocarina of Time so high (by 2015 standards, 20fps isn't good enough)... Why aren't Quake 3/Unreal Tournament on the fecking list? They're perfect, even in 2015.
 
Don't care for mobile gaming, and don't care about the plights of those that do. Feck them :D

Revisiting SC2 at the moment. Gotta get ready for LotV.

I refunded it and bought This War of Mine instead... Which I haven't played.

I thought the combat system was great, but the humour wasn't as good as I expected to be. It's like watching a Chris Rock concert when you can just youtube for Eddie Murphy.

To be honest, I'll never find anyone that tops Carlin for me. Rock is a funny dude.
 
Just beat the Mega Drive version of Ghouls n Ghosts :D

I've had Super Ghouls n Ghosts for about 15 years and haven't managed to complete it, yet I beat the Mega Drive one after having it for just three days and on my first playthrough :lol:
