Gaming The RedCafe General/Random Gaming Chat Thread

Started a free to play game called Trove. Interesting concept. Trying to mix minecraft elements with a pixelated mmorpg.

Grab PCSX2 and boot up THPS3. Still looks great when at QHD/UHD with some AF/AA added  I choose to think that THPS5 doesn't exist.

Has anyone here played the Skate games? I remember before I played the first one I thought the controls would make the game horrible, but I really enjoyed all three.

Nope. Only played THPS1-3.

Yeah, I guess they just thought they'd try anything to make it look a bit better.

I don't really care how it looks, but I know it's going to be awful in every other way.
Yeah from what I saw before it looked really really bad(PS2 levels). Also I think your right it's going to be awful, I remember hearing from that you can shoot projectiles from your skateboard :wenger:. But to be fair to the people making this one, the series had already been done to death by the third game and then as soon as SKATE came along the ''arcadey'' style just seemed really outdated.

Yeah, Skate definitely felt nice and fresh compared to all the last few Tony Hawk's that were shat out.

Too bad, it used to be bloody awesome.

Looks incredible. Making it semi open world is great, loads of different routes play around with.

Hopefully they make the head turning a bit more smooth/flowy though. Looks a bit rigid now.

Just finished Teslagrad. Wow, it was really good. If you like platformers/puzzle/Metroidvania-ish games then I highly recommend it. It played, looked, and sounded brilliant all the way through.

If I was the kind of person that cried at games then I may have shed a tear or two at certain points.

Go play it!

Hnggg...

A grand strategy, from Paradox Development Studio, set in space! Day one!

FFS, I am fuming. Just made the same mistake I did with The Witcher 3 only recently. Spent hours trying to resolve graphical issues installing KotOR: manually editing config files, looking for mods, installing a widescreen program I've never heard of to add new resolutions.

And guess what the problem was...?
After some summer storms I had unplugged everything. When I plugged everything back in, the HDMI was in the motherboard instead of the video card slot.

Twice. Within the space of a couple months. 6-8 hours wasted. There's no hope for me...

And that widescreen program has been a godsend over the years!

Can anyone recommend a website that is reliable for on-the-day delivery of AAA games, please? I have slipped into the habit of buying from PSN, so as to guarantee day 1 receipt, but I want a hard copy of MGS V.

I'm not quite as good as a computer unfortunately

Is there a playable version of that level to download though? Could be fun to try out.
No idea. Found it while I was reading something for A* and thought it is interesting to share. Seen before Pacman with the same algorithm, but this Mario is much more insane.

Yeah it's very impressive. I don't really enjoy watching tool-assisted stuff though since you know they'll always do everything perfectly :p

In the next seven days, PC RPG fans will get...
