Keepers suffer from the opposite problem of attacking players. We judge them by their mistakes. So if we are not seeing them regularly it's impossible to properly judge them, and can often assume that they maintain the same level of performance that they show in high profile European or international games.
That's the danger with United players. Unless they were superstars they are a ticking bomb. I guess that's part of the reason why probably 2/3 of the players to have featured for us in CL finals are nowhere near being picked. XXXXX YYY Superstar

The thing is, that theory has been tested before, I had Barthez in a draft before. I got mullered. To TITOs credit, he has Blanc-Desailly so people should realise it's not the Barthez vs. Arsenal or the Blanc that played for us... We'll see.
Every keeper has mistakes in him. So let's not pretend Peruzzi never did and that Barthez was forever making them. In reality having my current keeper - centre back pairing is quality. You know it Anto, so no need to remind me of casual voters, I've played enough drafts. Could easily pick a team completely different to my current one just to win casual votes but where's the challenge in that?

I'm going to choose Carlos Marchena as my next pick. Hugely decorated centre-back whom rose to prominence on the excellent Valencia team in the early 2000s. Marchena was also a staple of the era-defining Spanish national team for the entire decade, winning the European Championship in 2008 and World Cup in 2010.
