Anyone saw Garcia explain that everything was an act?

Finally got round to watching Haney-Garcia. Personally had it 112-112, with the caveat that I think there probably should have been an additional knockdown called in round 7. Can see 113-111 Garcia for sure.

The other two cards are a joke, I'd love to know how those judges - on top of rounds 1, 7, 10, 11 which obviously Garcia clearly won - managed to find an extra 3/4 rounds in his favour... he barely did anything.

Obviously a big upset but the fallout of this has been crazy. People are talking like there's no case for a rematch and that he absolutely whooped Haney which is simply not factual. And the over-correction on evaluating Garcia now is mental. I've seen a lot of comments on the back of him calling out Spence where people think he's just going to walk through him... if Spence is not completely shot to bits (highly possible) he would butcher Garcia at 154.

Agreed, I also watched the fight recently as of the last 24 hours and I was surprised that the online fans / media reception made it seem like a blow out, but judging the fight round for round at best you could give Garcia 1 (accurate) or 2 (generous) rounds advantage but no more.

It was a very competitive fight and the theatrical elements of the knock-downs somewhat created this narrative like it was one-sided which it wasn't.

I still think Devin bests most of the champions at 140 with Matias giving him a tougher fight but stylistically I could see Teofimo struggling as he's more of a counter puncher going up against a pure boxer. Isaac Cruz is another wildcard but given his height and him having to punch himself into range he'll struggle against a disciplined jab with range which explains why his team reportedly rejected the Stevenson bout.

More immediate concern is it's Devin's second fight at a new weight and he's already looking gaunt before rehydrating, thought he looked way to cut on the day of the fight and considering he would have had at least 20 ounces water after the weigh in there's glaring signs already being too big for the weight. I think the only thing stopping him and Ryan from looking at 147 is Jaron Ennis, if you take him out the picture it's open season between the current junior welterweights and the likes of Barrios and Stanionis who likely get active when Crawford vacates.

Andd Garcia has tested positive for PEDs. Haney might and probably should get his 0 back once the B sample has been tested.

Canelo has Mungaia down in round 4 with an uppercut. Seemed like Mungaia had won the first two possibly three rounds but this is all Canelo now.

Got a knockdown back in the 2nd and is on top now. I'd don't follow boxing all that closely but was surprised I'd never heard of this guy before last week.

You're in for a treat then! Another big knockdown in the 5th too. They don't call him the Monster for nothing.

Forgotten about this - told the grandchild and gardening to feck off - just in time for the knockout

Inoue being knocked down worried me a tad but the guy is just levels above the competition

What date do we reckon the Fury Usyk will get cancelled?

Fury has a lot of haters on here; genuine question - does anyone’s opinion change if he wins next weekend?

I feel like the Ngannou performance might end up being a good thing and has given him a kick up the backside. He looks in great shape and I think he’ll revert back to boxing more than people expect.

Never know what to expect from him. He could try cagey or fight like he did against Wilder which I think is his best option anyway try and tire him out.

I don't mind Fury, if he wins opinions about him will change no different to how he was heralded when stopping Wilder for the first time.

I think his CV does lack some panache but Usyk is undoubtedly pound for pound up there with Crawford and Inoue. It would be a bigger win objectively for Tyson's career as opposed to the status of being undisputed.

It sets up a brilliant showdown for Joshua (2025), and if Anthony maintains his buzz throughout that period, beating a game Usyk and rejuvenated Joshua is a great way to close the chapter for Tyson.

Even with those victories, I don't think he can rub shoulders with your Evanders, Lewis's or a Joe Louis in the all time conversation for instance, but respectfully, the current landscape of heavyweights isn't at a criteria that would demand any fighter reach those heights.

I think using his size to try and make it physical and tire Usyk out is what people think will be his tactics but he was countered relatively easily by Ngannou and he could easily drop 3-4 rounds quickly against someone as skilled as Usyk being too aggressive.

I think he can still use his size advantage by boxing.

It's a must watch fight for a change anyway hope the local puts it on.

I think that’s a fair assessment.

He’s obviously massively flawed and inconsistent as a character and is also capable of sub-par performances but I also think he’s capable of rising to the occasion and I don’t think he’s a bad bloke underneath it all.

I think the difference with Ngannou is that Fury underestimated the strength. Fury loves to out muscle opponents and put his weight on them, just couldn’t do that with a guy like Ngannou who trains that on a regular basis coming from MMA.

There’s no way I can see Usyk dealing with that in the way Ngannou did.

I get it as a tactic, and he’s be stupid to not employ it at times, but he’s only really been like that from Wilder 2 onwards which has coincided with Sugar Hill in charge. He’s made himself more vulnerable by being reckless and aggressive when he doesn’t have that sort of power.

I’d just like to see him mix it up and go back to boxing at range a bit more..

Archie Sharp floored within seconds of the first round and returning the favour in round 3. Good start to tonight's card on TNT.

Fury looks in great shape.

He is a natural boxer and some of the comments post Francis will have stung. I get frustrated by his antics sometimes but his head movement and footwork are delightful when he is interested.

Finished his cycle?
