The RedCafe Boxing Thread

Frampton needs to do the business in style tonight. It's all gone pear shaped since his loss Vs LSC. I prefer to see the counter punching style like we saw against Kiko Martinez and not the more aggressive fighter we've seen lately.

Some question marks about his desire in the boxing media, not to mention the questionable decison to have Jamie Moore as his trainer after his split from the Mcguigan's. Hope he answers them with a standout performance, because I really believe this guy belongs in the p4p top 10.

96-93 is alright. The others a bit wide for me.Frampton clearly the classier boxer, but stamina almost did for him tonight! Still, got that one out if the way against a stubborn opponent. Onwards.

Don’t see Frampton ever reaching the heights of that first LSC fight again, that was probably his ceiling

Why was this considered some kind of "comeback" fight.....it's been like 9 months since the LSC2 fight. Hardly extended inactivity.

Well if you fight for Al Haymon, you might expect it, but otherwise fighting once a year is pretty lame.

comeback in the sense he has new management and trainer I guess. After the fiasco of his last fight, this fight was supposed to thrust him back into the limelight. I thought he looked fantastic early on but tired badly after the 6th.

Agreed. He's got fantastic skills Frampton. Natural ability and timing you just don't see that often. I love watching this guy go to work. When fighting on the outside and countering as he does, working off his jab, he's a joy to watch. Against LSC should the 3 rd fight happen, he needs to fight like he did in the first 3 rounds and then I'd back him to win. If he's the aggressor coming on to LSC he'll get picked off by the longer, rangy Mexican.

Haye vs. Bellew is off, HAye is done I suspect at this level really and it's a shame the way the last few years have gone for him considering how good he used to be.

had a funny feeling that was going to happen, yeah Haye is done now. Pity as he was his lightest in yrs, I felt he was going to really go at Bellew in the early rounds

He's such a clown though. Shameless in his publicity stunts, I honestly grew tired of his bullshit. Talented cruiserweight masquerading as a HW. Won't miss him.

Fury has called Bellew out for May 5th. I reckon they try with the Haye fight again (I still don't think Fury is fighting anytime soon.)

Shame about Haye but doubt anyone will be surprised. His comeback has only ever been about setting up a massive payday with joshua imo but it seems his body was never up to it. He's a natural talker, i doubt he'll want for pundit work

Bellew would be something of a perfect return fight for Fury, a decent UK name to sell but someone who offers pretty much zero danger to a natural heavyweight
Still doubt we'll ever see Fury back in the ring though tbh

Tyson Fury has swiftly issued a verbal challenge to Tony Bellew after the postponement of his rematch with David Haye.

Bellew's future plans have been disrupted after Haye pulled out of next month's scheduled second fight following a 'freak accident' that left him with an injured bicep.

Fury endured similar frustration when Haye twice cancelled past fights against himself and vowed to step in as a replacement opponent for Bellew next year.

Speaking in a video on his official Instagram account, Fury said: "I just heard that David Haye has pulled out against Tony.

"I'll be ready, willing and waiting to fight Tony Bellew, May 5, O2 Arena, London.
