'I am an attention seeking whore, and would never accept to get murdered by GGG, but hey, it is twitter so why to not make a tweet'?
:D Pretty much.

I hope - should he win - Canelo stops dodging and takes the GGG fight.

I gave Brook a round & one round level. Towel was a good idea to stop things getting messy. Eye injury cannot have helped but suspect KB was always losing cos of the weight.

feck I wish Brook could have fought Mayweather. He'd run him closer than almost anyone since De la Hoya

GGG's showed no respect to Brook, an attitude that is often criticised in sport. That is how you deal with smaller guys stepping up prematurely. He didn't go for a methodical approach. Instead he walked through Brook's punches, which didn't phase him, and went straight for the kill.

I had it 3-1 to Golovkin. Brook fought well but his face was shattered in less than five minutes.

It means nothing at all if he suffered a facial fracture. You don't get extra points for breaking bones or messing up someone's face. Scoring shots are scoring shots regardless of the physical damage.

how was he ahead and he cards?

It was a good effort and he got some nice shots in, but I had Brook losing every round
He probably had the second and possibly the third, but the first, fourth and fifth were clearly Golovkin's. Such is boxing I guess.

Not every punch is counted the same. You can throw/connect less punches, and still win the round.

golovkin saying that it was like sparring fighting Brook. The guy is an absolute machine, it's the reaction a second after a punch lands that indicates how hard it hit, and Golovkin barely flinched any time kell connected.

I know but just because Golovkin broke his eye socket with his first meaningful shot does not set a scoring tone for the fight.

It is generally in close rounds where the 'meaningful punches' are favoured.

@CassiusClaymore

The are not irrelevant but you don't give extra marks for physical damage caused. Brook didn't cause any real damage to Golovkin but won rounds by landing better boxing shots I.e. Using his skills to land from unorthodox angles and putting together unusual combinations.

I'd rather lose the first 4 or so rounds then break somebodies eye socket and control the fight thereafter .

As for Golovkins interview, I didn't really catch what he said, but did he say Brooks career is over or something, or did he just mean at that weight

And boxers that have broken eye sockets after two rounds don't last twelve rounds.

he just said brook isnt a middleweight

He said that Brook is a great fighter and a warrior, but he isn't a middleweight. That GGG didn't feel the punches of Brooks, and that it was like a sparring match.

Don't know how anyone could have Brook losing the 2nd. He won that one pretty convincingly. The rest I had as Golovkin though.

I want to see Andre Ward against GGG. I think Ward would handle him. James De Gale would be interesting too, he has even better movement than Brook, has shown a solid chin at SMW so far too.

GGG gave himself a 3/4 out of 10. Whats the deal with Canelo, is he ducking GGG?

That's the presumption, because the fight hasn't yet happened. And Martin Murray came out and said that Canelo is afraid of fighting GG because he's not really a middleweight. I agree that Canelo shouldn't fight GG because he wont beat him. GG will have to step up to get a proper challenger.

Wum surely. GGG would have done some serious damage if it went on any longer. Boxers health is paramount.

What a feck? He was going down in that round, and was going to get injured. In fact, in the entire round he was barely able to survive, first by showing how you shouldn't execute 'rope a dope' strategy, and then by just staying immobilized why GGG was hitting him in the face.

Good decision by his camp to stop the match, and I bet this was the plan all along (to stop the fight on the first moment he is on trouble). He wasn't going to win this fight in a million years, the entire point was making him famous as the boxer who fought GGG despite being smaller.

This is professional boxing, not tiddlywinks. And we're not even talking about a heavyweight fight where fighters can be seriously injured with just one punch - at this weight it takes sustained blows to the head over many rounds to result in a fighter getting seriously hurt. Brook was holding his own until the 5th round, and even in that round he was still throwing some decent shots. If corners are now going to stop fights this easily, boxing will no longer be the spectacle that makes it so popular. You might as well just watch MMA.

Oscar only won 3 rounds in that fight. Maidana won 4 or 5 in his first fight with Floyd.

This is boxing, takes a lot more than winning some rounds to run someone close. Only way anyone beats mayweather

no politics in the maidana fight, hence de la hoya probably running him closer all things considered.

Pathetic decision to stop the fight. Brook's team should feel embarrassed. The Pussy Team.

The kind of punches KB was taking shorten careers. Right decision.

What has Canelo said about fighting GGG?

He vacated his WBC title so he wouldn't have to fight him  GGG is the most avoided fighter on the planet.

That would be an awesome fight. Ward schools GGG, IMO.

Ward's clash with Kovalev later this year should be a similar stylistic match-up. Should be great.

Max Kellerman is saying on Twitter that Roy Jones said Brook wanted out after the 4th and his corner took the blame.

I did find the stoppage a little off TBH, like they were going to pull Brook at the first sign of real trouble because it just wasn't worth putting him through hell when he gets so much exposure for just getting in the ring with GGG.
