Very tough fight for Frampton. If he can somehow win this he'll become a megastar.

Huh? I didn't say it was up to Hearn. I just said it shows how much power he has with Sky when they haven't even mentioned the fight at all. Not blaming Hearn for that
Why would they though when it's on another channel? i bet Boxnation haven't mentioned the Sky show.

It's never been any different for that - Sky's old Ringside show never mentioned any fights not on their channel.

I don't really like Frampton any more. Would always have a go at Quigg for not fighting 'the real champ' Rigo. Then as soon as he won the WBA, not a squeak from Frampton about Rigo.

Anyway, I think LSC will win on points. Frampton doesn't have enough power to stop him coming forward and letting his hands go.

Because he's one of Britain's best going up against one of the worlds best boxers? It's like Sky ignoring the Champion's League entirely because it's on BT.

I dunno I just find it a bit odd. Again wasn't a criticism of Hearn or anything just an observation. Like Tommy says they don't have the CL but still mention the games. They don't show the World Cup but it would be a bit odd if they didn't report on it.

Yeah fair comment. Rigondeaux does come with little interest in terms of money though and is always labelled dull to watch. I suppose Frampton would argue if he were to win tonight he has far more lucrative fights with Gary Russell Jr and a huge fight with Lee Selby he could go to. If he loses comfortably he could just drop down a division again and fight Rigo (not that I think he will.)

I agree with your point for what it's worth I'd of liked to of seen the fight especially after he was labelling the title he won a paper title. Be interesting who Quigg fights next he is at a bit of a cross roads, in all honesty the division is pretty shite. There's Rigo and Donaire and that's it really and neither are particularly huge names overseas, his biggest earner was a Frampton fight and there's no interest in seeing that again and now he's moved up it won't be happening anyway.

I find it stranger Frampton's own team have done a such a pathetic job of promoting this fight.

Barely anyone knows it's happening.

I've seen it advertised on Twitter, Facebook, BoxNation, BBC Sport and in the papers. In fairness the fight is in the US so it would be quite hard to promote over here when the biggest "sports news" channel won't promote it actively and it's not on the biggest sports channel. BBC are covering it on 5 Live tonight.

They've not done that bad of a job there's thousands of Northern Irish people out there apparently.

funnily enough i only heard about it through the sky sports app

Yeah I've just been on there and it is on the app, albeit on the front page of that app it is right at the bottom below about 50-60 other stories, some of which are shite.

As soon as Frampton signed with Haymon, he was never going to be promoted well over here any more. His fighting home is in the States now.

Frampton 6-3 up for me although Round 9 was razor thin. Barring him getting knocked down in the last 3 rounds I feel as if he will win the fight.

Amazing from Frampton had it 115-113. The draw wouldn't have been a bad result as well. Those judges scorecards were crazy though.

Has to be up for fight of the year, great to see frampton win, it was a toss of a coin between both of them, both gave everything and it would be great to see them get it on again.

Great fight and delighted for Frampton. I had him up by 2 personally. Thought the BoxNatuon commentators were biased against him in the final rounds. Were too busy calling LSC's work and ignoring CF catching most of it and his own output.

It was the opposite way round with the american commentators, they were pointing out every little thing Frampton done good.

It seemed like the commentators favoured Frampton in the early rounds and then decided to do the opposite in the last few. Went from discounting everything LSC did to discounting Frampton.

Frampton dominated the start and LSC took the second half, thought the last round was a clear Frampton win.

One of the better boxing fights I've seen in recent times yet it's one i come away from not content. Nobody really deserved to lose that imo and it could've went either way.

I wish I could have a ShowTime and HBO commentary option over here.

Great fight that and delighted for Frampton. He has his 2 biggest wins of his career in his last 2 fights and now can't write him off against anyone I don't think. he surely has a claim to being one of the top pound for pound fighters at the moment as well after that.

Frampton you absolute MONSTER, Sports Personality of the Year?

I think the commentators try scoring the fights how they believe the judges would score it, rather than giving their own personal scorecards.

I was going to ask that very same thing to the forum.

Does anyone now consider him a top 10 P4P fighter?

Probably, I struggle to get behind Canelo as high as some like to have him due to the fact he hasn't been fighting at real weights and they are just making claims to stuff, Frampton has back to back fights at their proper weights against top guys in both divisions, would of been nice to have Rig on his resume too of course, but still. Quigg-LSC-LSC II/Selby is one hell of a year.

He's still below Canelo of course, I'm just using an example, like he'd be 9th or 10th I guess.

That might be a tough ask in an Olympic year with Murray winning Wimbledon and Lewis likely to win his third world title in a row. I guess the whole of NI would vote for him so that would help but him being with PBC and Boxnation won't have helped his profile with the general public.

If Jess wins gold again or Mo does another double he will have no chance though.

I think he has to be now. Won world titles in two different weight divisions, beating top champs both times (once to unify). And he's still undefeated.

Huge win for Frampton. Now one of the biggest stars in the sport, delighted for him.

It's hard to argue against it now.

I think it's a weird one pound for pound it's so hard to rank and is all subjective.

I don't see why he shouldn't be high up on the list though he's just fought 2 of the best fighters in 2 divisions and easily outclassed one and beat the other in the fight of the year.

The ring ratings (as per http://ringtv.craveonline.com/ratings) are:

1) Gonzalez
2) Kovalev
3) GGG
4) Ward
5) Crawford
6) Rigo
7)Lomachenko
8) Alvarez
9 ) Yamanaka
10) Inoue

I'd have him up in the top 5 personally definitely deserves top 10 at least.

F1's a joke sport. But yeah Murray's a tough one to beat, a gold should put Froome up with him, it'd be a bigger achievement anyway, it'd be reward for being the man over the past 4 years in the sport. Murray didn't even have to beat Djokovic or Federer, I mean you can only beat what's in front of you at the end of it.....another good year for British sport to be fair, Bale would win in some years, as would Frampton....but just not this year, seems like Brits go overboard in Olympic years.

Aye. I forgot all about Froome! It is essentially a popularity contest though. Froome and Frampton just don't have the public's affections like Ennis, Farah or Murray.

It has been a great year for British sport. I agree with you on that for sure.
