Got a bad feeling about this one for Joshua. He's fought plodders and brawlers who trade and lose previously. Martin will actually make him move and use ringcraft. Joshua's not a refined boxer, has next to no footwork or movement in general and is not used to fighting someone who wants to keep him at a distance. I think it's going to be a big test for him before stances are even factored in and something far removed from what he's experienced so far in his career.

I'll be impressed if he takes care of business with any kind of aplomb tonight.

I agree. Martin has taken this fight for 1 of 2 possible reasons:
1) He won the title in unspectacular fashion via an opponents injury. Is he self aware enough to want to cash in heavily whilst he's on top? Possibly.
2) He's seen Joshua's style and believes it marries well with his. He is a counter puncher that draws leads and can fire equally with both hands and straight, hard punches. He leans back most of the time and is normally out of range of the first punch by natural positioning. Joshua has little side movement or head movement (Whyte showed this best). If you survive or parry the heavy flurries, there is chance to counter both centrally and against the ropes.

It's very interesting and if I had £50 and was forced to bet, I'd still go on Joshua around 3 or 4 just because when he does connect, he can seriously knock any man senseless but I can see a Martin TKO far more likely than any other contest Joshua has been involved in. It's a 60-40 at best for AJ and that's hyped.

Joshua win is currently at 1.20 (1/5) by the way. If anyone's interested.

Agree with your post, particularly point 2. It's going to take more than Joshua has shown to date to comfortably put Martin away because he's not going to stand there and trade or stay on the centre line like everyone else he has faced.

I think we'll get to see what Joshua's ring craft is like in terms of cutting off the ring and intelligence to open up an awkward fighter. I do believe Martin really fancies his chances against Joshua's style, so he's going to present problems in his own right as well, and it won't be smart of Joshua to try and simply walk this guy down.

We'll get to see what Joshua's jab is really about, too, as he's going to need it to set anything up against Martin.

I've got it at 50-50: Wouldn't be at all surprised if it went one way or the other.

Was that Boyanov guy a complete no mark or was Benn just that good?

Whats the sound bet for this one fellas? i get caught up in hype quite easily, but joshua looks the business.

David Haye was spot on then with that insightful view. Spoke words that the Sky team haven't touched upon too much. That giant elephant in the room.

David Haye looks too small to be a heavyweight.

Ugh, the state of that. Don't know anything about that Martin guy but I hope he gets smashed now.

ok. i want martin to win after coming out in that outfit.
