i have it 3-3 in rounds at the moment.
I wouldn't for the sake of Khans career.
If Khan steps in with Mayweather he will get convincingly beaten, they aren't even on the same planet. For Khan not to fight Mayweather or Manny - what career?
Algieri's a tough fight for most at 47. Guy is huge and super fast.
Believe he was best at 140 before he moved up.
Nah. There are only two ways to dominate Khan; KO him or pressure the feck out of him. The current version of Floyd won't do either. Floyd still wins, but it'd be competitive. If Khan steps in with Mayweather he will get convincingly beaten, they aren't even on the same planet.
khan should win this on pts easy but not impressed by him at all. he's not getting a shot at floyd thats for sure
Agreed, not good enough. Not even close.
Yep, I never thought this would be easy. Algieri is a tough fighter.Khan deserves credit for this win, Algieri's a world class opponent in my eyes.

Is Maidana better than Khan? No, most certainly not!
He lost by unanimous points decision against Khan when they fought; yet Maidana got 2 fights against Mayweather (both fights goin the distance).
Mayweather will dodge anyone that can box with speed now (took 5/6 years for him to fight Manny ffs); so to end his career & break Marciano's record. He wont fight anyone that can go the distance, throw a shitload of punches & win rounds.
Mayweather's last 6 fights have gone the distance, and apart from Manny (who had a crocked shoulder & wasnt the fighter we expected to see) - none of those 5 other fighters throw as many punches as Khan does.
I'd give Khan a chance to win on points against Mayweather; but although Khan's chin looks alot better this past year or 2 (his defence more importantly)- its still a fear-factor for anyone who supports / follows him.
He took quite alot of hard punches on the chin tonight; came through it pretty well & his defence / footwork were pretty good to get the hell out of there, whilst also fightin his way out of it too, so that's a great positive against a touch bastard like Algieri..
Hopefully, after tonights showing - Algieri will get good paydays & plenty of wins now. Seen the interview with him on Box Nation & it was brought up that Algieri's been living in student digs until recently & his last number of fights have been for $3k.
He seems like a real nice guy too & it's hard not to love a tough bastard with a fighting heart like his either..
Gareth A Davies at the Telegrapgh reports the fight times as the following for tonight folks:
8pm - Selby.
9pm - Mitchell.
10pm - Joshua.
11pm - Brook.
Howard Foster with a similar to Groves-Froch, contentious stoppage of John Ryder. Turn out for the books - bookies favourite stopped.
Caved in and bought the boxing cos there's nothing else on TV tonight...that John Ryder stoppage was a bit early, Howard Foster seems to have a habit of that now!
Sky's commentary is a breath of fresh air compared to Box Nation's with Khan's last night.
Malignaggi makes the difference. An active fighter that is articulate and intelligent (well I think so anyway) and adds great insight into the action.
It's an extra safe stoppage isn't it, all the ingredients were there but there's just something a bit too early about it still. Not outrageously bad but as Malignaggi said, Ryder has himself to blame for being in that position and not reacting enough to close it up or avoid further punishment.
Was Cleverly added to this card late?? I'm sure he wasnt on it a few weeks ago.
Yes mate. 14 seconds to win it too. Cracking shot. That poor bloke was so out of depth though. Don't particularly like Clev but that's hell of a way to deal with an opponent.
