Mikkel Kessler next up.

Perhaps Sky or the BBC or ITV can rouse themselves to pick the bloody thing up.

The second and third stages of the Super Six super middle weight tournament has been announced and has thrown up quite a feast for boxing fans.
In stage two the pick of the three bouts sees Mikkel Kessler take on Carl Froch whilst Arthur Abraham takes on Andre Dirrel and Jermain Taylor takes on Andre Ward.
Then in stage three Carl Froch then takes Arthur Abraham whilst Mikkel Kessler takes on Jermain Taylor and the two Andres face off as Dirrel takes on Ward.

GROUP STAGE 2

ANDRE DIRREL vs. ARTHUR ABRAHAM

MIKKEL KESSLER vs. CARL FROCH

JERMAIN TAYLOR vs. ANDRE WARD

GROUP STAGE 3

ANDRE DIRRELL vs. ANDRE WARD

CARL FROCH vs. ARTHUR ABRAHAM

MIKKEL KESSLER vs. JERMAIN TAYLOR

Froch has quite a task ahead of him

Froch lost that fight. Justice will come for him in the name of Kessler. It will be a massacre. Andrade number 2.

I feel for Taylor he is supposedly still in hospital with concussion and brain haemorrhage

Christ. Hope the guy's alright. He should really consider calling it quits, if not now then as soon as he's done with this tournament. He's made his money from the sport, and he's getting knocked out far too often for a guy that had a reliable chin at one stage.

Abraham doesn't throw enough punches for my liking but he's a hell of a fighter. A brutally hard puncher who carries his power for the full 12 rounds. Doesn't get hit clean too often and in any case he's got a good chin ans he's tough as nails. He supposedly fought the last 8 rounds of his first fight with Edison Miranda with a broken jaw.

Watch it, then watch the rematch in the US and see Miranda get knocked the feck out.

Imagine being punched on the jaw when it's looking like that. Abraham is one tough son of a bitch.

According to the Youngstown Vindicator , WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik is unable to move forward with his December 5 clash with Paul Williams. The fight was previously scheduled for October, and postponed due to a staph infection suffered by Pavlik and later rescheduled for the December date. Pavlik's trainer Jack Loew says the staph infection has not gone away as expected and his fighter is unable to close his left hand.

"He's trying," said Loew. "He's been running, he's been trying to train in the gym. He's trying to shadow box with one hand, hit the speed bag with one hand. ... I've been trying to keep it a secret but it's not going great and I'm not going to fool anybody any longer."

They are trying to reschedule the fight for January 23 but Williams' side may not accept another postponement.

He can eat a big ol' dick
Im seriously annoyed with this

Just watched Ryan Rhodes stop Jamie Moore, great domestic fight v.little clinching both just went and fought. Very impressed.
The punch that got the ball rolling in the 7th caught Moore on the point of the chin and took his legs away, he fought back then Rhodes took control again and forced the ref to stop it.

Earlier tonight Tomasz Adamek stopped Andrew Golota in 5 rounds. He had him down in the first and cut Golota as well. The finish was impressive from Adamek as he ripped to the head and body.
Could make some kind of impact in the HW division

Just watched the first Pacquiao/Cotto 24/7. Pacquiao doesn't seem to have had the ideal preparation at all for this fight.

 Tony Quigley and Paul Smith giving it some full scouse "come on den" on SSN just now, hilarity!

Floyd is getting it from every side lol
zSHARE - mayweather vs ra the rugged man.mp3

Rapper RA The Rugged Man getting on to Mayweather
Ha that's class. RA comes across as a bit obnoxious but I agree with his general argument - Floyd has the talent to clean out the division and cement his legacy, but isn't willing to take the risk.

Funny hearing Floyd getting so pissed off tho... really brings out the cheap shots. Brings up Mosley's doping history for no reason, accuses Pac of using steroids, and laughably denies that SRL is a greater fighter because he lost to Camacho (at the age of 40, lol). Indicates why Floyd doesn't seem to want to fight anyone who poses a serious threat to him: in Floyd's head his legacy has nothing to do with testing himself against - and beating - the best fighters he can, it's all about him keeping his 0.

Mayweather needs to realise that to be one of the greatest of all time doesnt mean having an 0 next to your name.

What's the estimated start time of the Haye fight?

Anyone get round to watching the Johnson-Dawson fight?

Dawson was, for the most part, pretty dominant. He looks pretty special to me and I'm not sure there's anyone around his weight who's capable of beating him. Definite p4p material... that's if he's not already up there.

The biggest fight of the year is approaching and it seems there's little interest...

Cotto Vs Pacquiao anyone? Prediction?

Pacquiao seems to be the heavy favourite which I find quite remarkable, Cotto is being underestimated big time, the Pacquiao camp seem so confidant that it is already rumoured that he is set too fight Mayweather in March.

Personally I am little unhappy this fight got made, it great for boxing, but they are both my favourite fighters, they both give their all and their fights are always entertaining so wont be rooting for either to win, Cotto might just edge it though as he is a United fan!

As for the fight itself I reckon this might just be a step too far for Manny, it would be great to see him win a title at his 7th weight class but Cotto is a high calibre fighter, who may have had a lot taken out of him from Margarito loss but is still one of the best Welterweight out there who has the power to knock-out Pacquiao.

I see the fight going two ways, Pacquiao to win on points or a Cotto win via TKO in the later rounds.

The fights on Sky Sports 1, which is sweet, programme starts at 2am and the fights expected to start at 3am which is earlier then most fight start.

Anyway here's the 24/7 series which follows the run up to the fight.

I am not sure who I fancy for victory tonight, Cotto has power but Pacman is just an incredible boxer therefore I won't predict, just enjoy the fight instead.

Pac-Cotto...

Worth staying up for?

Pac-Cotto...

Worth staying up for?

Definitely

The only problem is that I'm struggling to stay awake now. Hopefully I'll be able to download the fight tomorrow without seeing the result.

Surprised about the lack of interest in this fight
