Porter just wasn't clean enough for the judges, one thing was evident though the crowd at ringside knew he had lost there was no boo's at the end and they were leaving before the scorecards we're read.

I felt porter deserved to lose he was swinging for the sake of swinging at points in the match just to look busy and kell was avoiding most of them and those he took didn't faze him.

I think I expected Brook to have to do far more to take the title off him to be honest. His work rate was never strong/high enough to consistently trouble Porter. Meanwhile Porter was by far the more dominant force in about the opening 6 rounds till he slowed a bit. Basically when Brook was on top (which I would say was for only 4 rounds max) at no stage was he bossing Porter to anywhere near the same extent that Porter was bossing him for the first 6 rounds.

Porter's work was never completely clean or technical (it never is) but it was clearly effective before he slowed. It looks to me like the judges were scoring based on technical ability as opposed to aggression, dominance and overall control. Porter for me was in control of the fight for a lot longer than Kell was and when he was in control was a lot more dominant than Brook was during the little pockets of control he had.

Bloody hell.

Thats fecked up. Second time he's been stabbed in the past few years too.
Who the hell stabs someone in the leg? I can understand getting stabbed in the arm defending yourself, but in the leg?

I guess the leg is just an easy target. You mightn't even notice someone with a knife held down around waist/leg level until its too late. It can do some serious damage if it was to cut the femoral artery too.

Frampton wins on points. Well-deserved, although the scorecards seemed a little harsh on Martinez. You could certainly make an argument for him shading 3 or so rounds.

Agree, the cards were harsh. Carl looked great again

Thit shitbag Broner is fighting now. He really stepped it up in the 4th round. I felt Taylor edged the first three rounds on workrate, although I struggle to be objective about Broner. Very even 5th round. Fun fight so far.

Broner won a fairly close decision. Tough fight to score, with most of the rounds fairly close, but it was probably a fair outcome after Broner scored a great knockdown late in the final round. Taylor was winning that round up until then. I doubt it'll be too long before Broner catches another beating anyway. Taylor isn't top class by any stretch and he gave him a tough fight and landed plenty on him.

Aye, he's no heir to Mayweather that's for sure. I thought Taylor looked okay, he lacked a bit of a bite in his punches which I think cost him. Particularly in the earlier rounds I thought he started nice with a few body shots but instead of really twisting his body and ripping them in I thought his punches lacked that impact. Broner in comparison would cover up at times but then spark into life and fire in a few shots which looked more impressive. I think Broner was the better puncher off the two and deserved the decision.

Matthysse with another KO in round 2, somewhat controversial because the count was probably premature but at the same time there was no way I saw him losing that fight. He won the first round quite comfortably and then knocked Ortiz down in the second so I think it was just a matter of time regardless of the count.

I still can't believe he lost to Danny Garcia. Can't stand Garcia and I would love to see a rematch there.

Taylor did fight well, but as you say his lack of power cost him. He lacked that extra bit of quality to close out rounds as well as he started them too, which allowed Broner to steal quite a few rounds by stepping it up in the last minute. He was impressive though and showed alot of guts. I'd gladly watch him fight again. I'd love to see a Matthysse vs Garcia rematch, although Ithink Garcia would beat him again. Garcia's become a decent technician as well as a hard puncher. Matthysse vs Broner would be a great fight too. If Broner got hit as much by Mattysse as he did by Taylor I can't see him making the final bell, although Matthysse's chin has looked vulnerable lately too.

Pretty good build up this

Forgot how dirty the first fight was!

All the signs point towards a wide decision for Floyd. Maidana fought close to a perfect fight first time around and still fell short. He needs to hurt Floyd early. Not sure it's possible with those pillows Floyd has him using.

I am. Can't help but get sold into the possibility of Mayweather losing.
Can't see it happening. Mayweather for the KO towards the end for me.

Boxnation at around 3am-3:30am.

Neither will happen. He'll win pretty unanimously on points. There won't be a KO cos his hands are fecked apparently. Hence him not finishing anyone since Hatton (unless you want to count the Ortiz sucker punch).
It's a horrendously shit card, with a shit main event. He really must have been scraping the barrel in terms of opponents, IMO.

There are rumours that it wasn't as innocent as Kell is saying...

That first fight was proof of every thing that is wrong with Sky's boxing commentary.

Jim Watt calls the wrong punch that landed. Nick Halling delivering a laboured intro as the fighter he's promoting gets knocked down.

Already tempted to watch tonight's card on mute.
