He got dropped and was unimpressive, but surely after that his next fight won't be against Garcia/Judah?

Khan the fighter he is too much hype , Khan the person is a total and utter scumbag.

Based on?

I think that Khan clearly won the fight. It was very reminiscent of the Maidana fight. I don't really know where Khan will go from here. I think that Garcia will drill him in a similar fashion again should they meet. I think that Khan somehow needs to engineer a fight with Mayweather through some clever matchmaking, take his beats, the money and retire.

Past history, I dont like the guy, tyr a web search about the guy he knocked down but that is not for this thread.

Khan the fighter for me is all hype, yes he can take a good punch, I kind of agree with you about Mayweather, but I doubt it will happen, I doubt he would last longer than 2 rounds.

A guy that he knocked down by accident when he was 19? Convicted of driving without due care and attention. Do you know the people involved personally? I am not sure that I can deduce that Khan is a scumbag from what I can find about that story.

He's 26 and clearly loves boxing, so I can't see that happening at all. Khan undoubtedly still has a career, its not as if he lost tonight and his fights are always good to watch

Based on tonight I agree with you on Garcia though, he would have been KO'd if he took a similar number of big punches.

But based on the actual Garcia fight I thought he looked by far the better fighter before that big overhand right, he was way too fast for him and was putting combinations together, wasnt enough of that tonight I thought.

He looked like that in the first few rounds of the fight tonight and he did in the first few rounds against Maidana.

The blueprint is the same; he starts like lightening, his speed and power disconcerts his opponent; that speed and power starts to fade a little after 3 rounds; his opponent starts to time him and nails him with a shot; from then on in he is on the run; he boxes well in burst but keeps getting tagged; he ends up getting macho at some point and either gets knocked out or spends the rest of the fight looking drunk and on the run.

I think that he has peaked physically. I don't believe that Diaz would have given Khan such problems a couple of years ago. Khan has taken a fair few concussive blows in his career already. He is a old 26 for me. Look at the top of the junior welterweight and welterweight divisions, there is Malignaggi and Bradley who would be favourable fights for him, the rest would KO him the feck out. He just has limited options in the long term for me.

Yeah I agree with a lot of what you say. I've also thought he looked like he's peaked physically but dismissed it because it just seemed illogical. I mean he's 26..

Maybe an extended break might be a good idea? I think he needs to get some muscle in his legs, he never looks sturdy to me

Look at Ricky Hatton, he was fecked by the age of 30 whereas Hopkins is still mixing it at 50. Fighters age differently according to their physiology and career. Khan has taken a lot of punishment to his head, concussion is not something that should be experienced a lot in a persons life.

Personally I think that Khan should chase a big payday with Mayweather. He can get that fight with a couple of carefully selected wins. Dan Rafael, the chief boxing writer at ESPN says that Showtime have Khan as a possibility for Mayweather on his recently signed contract. Khan just has to make himself look like a legit opponent for Floyd. It won't take as much as you think, look at Victor Ortiz when he got the Mayweather fight. Boxing is about money and Khan - Mayweather would make a lot of it. Floyd just needs Khan to throw him a bone so he can make that fight.

Khan won on points but the last few rounds he was hanging on, the man is a farce

Can't believe how nervous I am (although it could be how drunk I am) COME ON MURRAY

Anyone know what time Murray/Martinez and Garcia/Judah are on?

Think they might be on similar times so will probably go with Garcia/Judah, they dont like each other at all and hopefully Judah can shut his Dad up, so annoying.

I'm pretty pissed in a mates house but the stream seems to be suggesting it is starting soon.

That was a good first round mate, nothing in it really

Needs to offer more than that.. barely threw a punch

feck sake no chance he'll get the decision in Argentina. That 2nd KD should have stood and I think he would win this fight. I have it as a draw without the KD

But Sergio will surely win by 2 or 3

 Look at the stats, Murray landed 20% more AND has 2 knockdowns yet loses the fight

I had Murray winning by one not included the knockdown that wasn't given, I would say after getting to decisions that's gone against him he deserves a world title shot at home

Only caught the second half of the fight, but I'd give Judah the last couple of rounds. Had Garcia wobbled a couple of times.

Looked like it was a good fight, actually.

Serious question if anyone can answer it?? I now have the worst hangover ever which means I was seriously pissed last night, do I need to watch the Murray fight again or was my drunken thoughts correct?

I thought he should have won by a maybe one point.. and the longer it went on the more likely he was going to win, Martinez was gassed from around the 7th. That 2nd knockdown should have stood as well.

Judah vs Garcia turned into a decent fight. Garcia's stock might have fallen a little as a result. Showed a typically good chin but ended up making slightly hard work of an old Judah. Judah was unusually gutsy and well-conditioned though.

I don't know anything about this Guerrero cat. Does he have any snowballs chance in hell of doing anything against Mayweather?

Some commentators are saying that this could be the moment that an aging Floyd gets dethroned.

Not for me though. Whilst Guerrero is a skilled fighter, he was a lightweight a couple of fights ago. He made a remarkable jump up through two divisions to beat, and at times manhandle, the overrated and HBO pampered Andre Berto. A victory that got him the fight with Floyd. Guerrero looked terrible recently, fleshy and undefined. He is not a natural welterweight by any stretch of the imagination. i can't see anything but a Mayweather victory in this one.

hilarious that not that long ago Khan was talking about trying to get a fight with Mayweather

Whats so hilarious about that? Look at who Floyd is fighting next? He not exactly going after the stellar fighters to cement his legacy.

I think for the last years his always been lined up to fight Floyd, it just his continuing stuttering is not a great way to build a fight that would have only been second to Manny and Floyd at it peak in terms of revenue.

Floyd, if he is to furfill his 6 fight deal, i have no doubt he will fight Khan along the way.

Khan is one of the names that Showtime have penciled in. Mayweather has been talking today about wanting to fight in the UK. Mayweather would make that fight in a heartbeat if he could. It is one of the biggest purses out there for him. Khan just needs to legitimise himself a little first.

Now Khan's camp are talking about facing the winner of Peterson - Mattyhesse (I know!). If Khan were to win that fight then the path will be open for the Mayweather fight. Khan had better hope that Peterson prevails in that one.

Khan seems to be getting worse with each fight, I don't think Diaz was even ranked in the top 15 & was causing Khan all kinds of problems. On current form I think Khan would have serious difficulty getting passed Kell Brook never mind Mayweather.
