Well that was just a little bit funny, getting hyped up fighting 40 odd year olds then one of them bangs him out in 2.

It was his Amir Khan moment. Tony Thompson came in at his heaviest too, carrying a tyre of blubber for one last roll of the dice. The doubts about his chin seem to have been well founded.

A bit gutted about Price to be honest. Looked genuinely skilled and seemed a decent guy, but there's been rumours about a suspect chin going back to his amateur days and they're obviously accurate. Clutching at straws here, but it probably makes a Price vs Fury fight somewhat more likely in the next few years, and that'll be fun if insignificant.

Wladmir overcame his chin issues to be a dominant and lineal champion.

He was hurting Thompson, and don't know if he got carried away but he got drawn in looking for that big right hand and got caught

It's a bit like Khan in that respect, can win most of their fights with their skills at range

Price is 30 in July, he's way behind Wladimir in that respect who was already a world champion.

I am not a fan of writing fighters off after one defeat, especially in the heavyweight division when KO's can happen at any time.

Yeah.. I didn't either.

I'm just saying there is a clear difference between him and Wladimir, you are right he can bounce back but the two situations aren't that similar. Klitschko had accomplished so much more by this age. It's the same with Lennox Lewis who he was compared to during the build up, he was World Champion by this age. I'm not writing him off, but he needs to get moving if he wants to achieve similar success.

Bernard Hopkins is a world champion again. He's 48

Very good performance, but I don't think trash talking Andre Ward is a smart move.

Fantastic achievement and I'm not sure he was trash talking Ward. He has said previously that no amount of money would make him fight Ward because of the respect the two have for each other.

I think he was simply repeating that just in a very energetic and slightly boisterous way. I don't think Ward took whatever he said to him personally but he was working for HBO at the time so seemed a little put out by the language.

Its mainly down to the injury which he is over now so should be more active in 2013. However the difficulty is that there really aren't many challenging fights for him to make since he came through the super 6.

Does anyone know what Hopkins was actually saying to Ward after the fight? I'm sure they said they'd never fight a few years back but that looked like some sort of call out to me.

Its hard to see how Hopkins would make that fight competitive but like Bamsola says there's really not much out there for Ward at the minute. Martinez maybe, but he'd be very undersized.

Mayweather and ward have apparently had a slanging match, now Ward is saying he would love weight to fight Mayweather at middleweight. Now this is surely just talk couldn't see ward or Mayweather actually doing this.

No one talking about Bradley-Provodnikov?

Fight of the year candidate for sure, absolutely unreal!

Never seen the fight, read that Bradley was lucky though as knock downs could have been scored in the first and second round.

Sounds like Bradley is lucky he doesn't have serious brain damage.

Apparently he received a concussion in the 2nd round and fought 10 more rounds basically out of it.

That is the kind of shit that shaves years off of careers. Guys are sometimes never the same after those kind of fights. Brutal fight.

He looked fine for a few rounds after the second too. Was a great fight. The windmilling from both guys in the 6th (?) round was hilarious, it was a real test of character for Bradley but he showed heart.

Also, there's rumours that Haye is returning in early June. Possibly against Povetkin.

Read before that Haye is going to be fighting July 6th but didn't see the opponent.

Carl Froch v Mikkel Kessler is where it's at. Can't wait for that one.

Can't wait either, my brother phoned me drunk a week or 2 ago saying he could get 2 tickets at face value, i'm gonna have to check he got them. Never bothered when they first went on sale with it been the night of the CL final but since Madrid knocked us out I would be well up for it.

Best fight I've seen in ages, really is a must watch. Respect for Bradley has gone way up after getting through the 2nd and turning it around.

Anyone watching the Bellew fight tonight? Quite like him usually entertaining and thought his performance against Cleverly should have earned him a rematch.

Guess it's just me. Was a great super middleweight fight on the undercard and Rocky Fielding was brutal.
