EDIT: Wow fecking immense from Froch...bit of a mad ending!

That was a hell of a performance, total domination from round 2 onwards.

god his head rocks back horribly on that shot

ref is a knob giving a count while the guys legs are like jelly and he is clearly monged...

Wtf was the referee doing, he should've stopped it instead of counting. Is there not one single sport where the referees are competent?

Return clause in the contract. Wonder if he will wanna take up that option with a rematch in Montreal? Only made 1 defence besides this attempt outside of Montreal..

Great by Froch. Brutal.

Bute applauding the performance. Good sport.

Yeah fair play but reckon he had to take that on the chin and admit he got outclassed. Froch just looked so focused. Awesome performance.

Great by Froch. Brutal.

Do you reckon Bute will fancy that?

Shocking refereeing there, Bute took about 10 punches after going out on his feet and then the ref only gave him a count!

Great performance from Froch and fair play to Bute applauding at the end, though after that onslaught at the end he probably thinks he is at the theatre watching Le Miserables.

gratuitous interview with the 'model girlfriend'

Am sure they will replay it tom- well worth watching.

That was a stunning performance by Froch, think thats the one where people finally have to admit what a great fighter he is.

And probably the most entertaining to watch, his fights are alwas so exciting (although I did miss the Ward fight)

watched it live and will happily admit i did buy into the hype surrounding Bute and after the Ward fight i questioned if Froch could do much against the "boxer" well i was so glad i got it wrong, i love Froch! Great fighter, always comes to fight, takes on the best opposition out there and is always good value. His heart and determination are unlike any other, what a warrior and true champion the guy is.

Sad news in the World of boxing this week with Jonny Tapia being found dead at 45 and Paul Williams being paralysed in a motorbike accident.

Jonny Tapia had been long off the rails and addicted to drugs so it always seemed like a matter of time.

Paul Williams was in Ring Magazines top 10 P4P fighters only a short time ago and was scheduled next for an intriguing bout against Saul Alvarez.

No surprise with Tapia (although still sad, obviously) but the Williams news really is quite shocking.

He was one of my favourite fighters... loved a good scrap and neglected pretty much all his physical advantages in favour of slugging it out toe-to-toe. Not exactly one for the purists but he was always in entertaining fights.

Hope he gets better but, judging by what I've read, the prognosis isn't too encouraging.

Oh and Froch was ruthless the other night. If the Kessler rematch happens in England, I reckon he takes it in another close-fought affair.

Gotta love the guy! Such a ballsy move but it paid off handsomely.

Lucian Bute insists he wants to face Carl Froch in a rematch after losing his IBF super-middleweight title to the Briton.

Froch suggested Bute could retire after ending the Romanian's unbeaten 30-fight run in five thrilling rounds on Saturday night.

However, Bute plans to learn from defeat and wants revenge over Froch after admitting he underestimated the Nottingham fighter.

"Every athlete has to admit defeat. Great champions need to know to lose. I have to learn from this defeat," Bute told boxingfutures.com.

"This is not the end of the world. I don't think that it's the end of my career.

Dominated

"I need to relax. It was a great mental load. I need time for my return. On Saturday night, Carl Froch was better.

"Any great athlete must have dignity, to be able to congratulate your opponent. I was the favourite and everyone thought I would win easily. We all thought that, even me. Unfortunately, you saw what happened there.

"I believe that in five rounds I boxed in only one, for about three minutes. I was totally dominated. After the first round, I was very sure of myself. I told my coach that he was slow. But things changed in the second round.

"I do not necessarily want the belt back. I want to beat Carl Froch. I want a rematch - even if there is not belt at stake."

Surely he can't be serious, what is he hoping to achieve? has the man got a death wish? not sure why he would have been so confident after the first i had been out drinking in Manchester all day for the rugby but fairly certain i still had Froch winning the first round.

What channel is this on?

Or does it have to be a stream job?

Cheers Liam, should be around 5am, hopefully a bit before. Dunno whether to stay up for it or not.

Anyone watching this? Last undercard fight, knockdown in 10 seconds.

 feck sake.. very dirty fight. Low blow, then a crack on the back, then a shot on the ear all after the other.

Shit refereeing.

edit - feck sake, called off as no contest. Bullshit

Flicked on to see him down in some discomfort, looked pretty dirty to me, after a low blow followed up by a punch in the back, you don't then thump someone in the ear. Then to call him a coward?

Got a long wait on now it seems. fecking basketball.

lol yeah calling him a coward is very harsh.

Just trying to sell a rematch though I think, turn it into a bit of a rivalry.
