Just a quick word for Sony, my 60gb PS3 broke yesterday, stopped reading any games, or bd optical media. phoned up sony customer services and the guy on the other end didn't give me any hassle like i have had from MS customer services where you have to run through 'have you switched it off and on, go check the wires are in the correct place' etc etc for 15 minutes plus. it was a straight 'oh yeah i know that fault, you've had the console for over a year yeah? well we'll say you bought it at the end of september so you're still in warranty and i'll get a new one sent out to you straight away... oh no, i'm sorry it's going to be a bit of a while until i can get one to you i'm afraid, i can't get it for sat, is monday ok?' which considering i phoned up on friday afternoon seems bloody brill to me, and they're sending me out another 60gb unit. a 3 min phone call, no hassle at all, even though the dude knew it was out of warranty a straight up replacement and an apology that it wasn't going to arrive the next day.
I haven't played my ps3 as much as my 360 but that kind of service when something goes wrong really does gain a degree of brand loyalty from me.
