Backed him for 3 years however, after his horrendous decision making against Wolves by swapping Pogba and Fellainis roles when we were ahead I realised he is past it. Has no aura about him and in 3 years he cant get them to string a pass together. The board gets some blame for not bringing in the 27-30 year old players he wants every damn transfer window but he is to blame for his poor man management. Isolated Martial when Rashford and Sanchez can drop disaster after disaster. He treats players with favouritism. I mean why does Bailly or Pereira go missing from the matchday squad after a bad game yet Jones, Valencia, Lukaku, Sanchez, Lingard can keep their place. Not only that but he is clearly past it. Pogbas comments about playing like they did vs Tottenham say it all. The old Jose would never change how he played for players or even his assistant coach. Not only that but our team today was better than Derbys in every position and Derby have more of an identity with Lampard than we do with serial winner Jose. Its best for both parties he leaves. If woodward had a brain for footballing matters located somewhere within the 10 mile radius of a forehead he has then he would get rid of Jose tomorrow while we can salvage our season.

What’s that supposed to mean? No point sacking underperforming manager?

What do people expect to happen? Erm improvement in performance. Not get bossed by Derby or look inept in all our games.

It means that I don’t trust the board to make the right appointment and I fully expect the visious cycle to continue. There’s clearly, to me anyway, something very wrong with the club that goes behind hiring another manager to clean up the past three managerial feck ups. If we make the wrong appointment again, we’ll be set back yet another 5 years. Unless there’s an actual vision and planning in place, it’s pointless to expect things to get better by sacking Jose. It could well get even worse. Nothing after SAF’s retirement suggests that the club know what it’s doing.

Woke up this morning feeling shite
We lost to Derby, at home last night.
We look like we don't have a fecking clue...Oh yeah
Something tells me Jose will be leaving soon....

Ok, i am now officially in this camp.
Been wanting him to get enough time to get the team and tactics right, but nope, he can't do it.
Give us an early christmas present, Eddy.

Time to go, Jose.

I'd recommend he retires with his dignity still kinda intact. He's past it and will only get worse and worse until people forget how good he was.

I genuinely feel sorry for what ever club appoints him next.

This...

We are not going to replace the whole squad and it's not working with Mourinho so better we let someone with new ideas have a crack. Yes will probably not work, but we have little to lose at this point

We will still need to change loads of things regarding the constructure of the club after he leaves but him leaving is part of "changing these things". It's inevitable at the moment.

He should go tomorrow in my opinion, but the truth is he's going absolutely nowhere at this moment in time. We need to get used to seeing complete shite on a stick football I'm afraid, because he'll be here until the end of the season.

His presence here is poisonous though. If I were Ed I'd just let him go and see how the next risk pans out. There is no clear cut solution to a post-Mourinho Manchester United but keeping him as our manager is not the answer.

Mourinho probably should go now but you can't defend these set of players.
Game after game we're second best in every department, it's unacceptable.
We truly have some thick shit players, just daft and Jones n Baily are at the top of that list.

Will the fans who want Mourinho gone admit they were wrong when a new manager comes in and does no better with this group? I doubt it. Sacking Mourinho will do nothing, squad needs serious investment.

Mourinho has spent an absolute fortune... our wage bill is the second highest in the world! The problem is with the manager!

We lose to West Ham, I pray he gets sacked.
It's becoming a joke now. Pay him 15m or whatever, this season for me so far could be rivalling Moyes and his shamblolic season. I just see plenty of defeats coming our way if Jose stays, his stagnant shite week in week is so easy to play against.

Looks like the Utd job post Fergie is a poison chalice.

This needs to stop. It isn’t, it’s just poor choices after poor choices.

Reactive decision making rather than proactive at board level. Wrong managers in terms of style. Wrong strategy in the transfer market. Everything is just so badly run at the moment.

Nothing is going to change whilst turnover keeps rising and profits are remaining. Fans can vote with their feet but Old Trafford is full every week blindly backing the manager to be good fans. Part of the problem, fans are far to lenient compared to other top clubs. All because of Fergie’s last speech.

I partially agree here, the squad is full of deadwood... but serious investment?? Haven’t we done that already? A lot of it at Jose’s request - at least get somebody in who knows what they’re doing with “serious investment”, that would be a good start. I’m terrified at the thought of Jose spending even more money on bang average to be quite honest.

Is there a single element of the game that we're better at now than we were when he took over?

Genuine question.

Probably better than LVG but at least we know how LVG want us to play football and has an identity in place. With Jose, there's no identity and don't know what to do when we play football.

Not loads, a few tweaks. It just takes an intent to play on the ground and stop dropping back as soon as one goal up.

There're surely loads of things that need to be made regarding Ed and squad. We shouldn't be deluded. I wanted LVG to feck off but always said him leaving alone won't change everything, but it's part of it. Same about Mourinho. He needs to leave, now not even by Jan, but him leaving alone won't need to change us to title contenders.

Sack him, bring a DOF and start planning as a football club for once.

I just can't see this being the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak.

We need to get used to seeing complete shite on a stick football.

That’s the truth if it. We can whine bitch and moan about it til the end of days, but Woodward and those in charge will just see the revenue going higher and higher and won’t do jack shit to change any of it.

It won't be long before pundits and journos will start feeling sorry for us, we used to be hated for our success, these past five years was heaven for journalists and our rivals, but now it's getting cruel.

I'd like to think we're a sleeping giant, turns out we're the drunken idiot pissing his pants as he passed out round the back of the pub.

Don't forget Matic who starts every single, despite performances and even fatigue levels. Mourinho has destroyed him, the man has a serious surgery in the summer but he throws him out there first chance he gets vs Spurs, we know what happened after that

I'm one of his biggest fans & it hurts that Fellaini is playing the role for Lindelöf that I wanted Blind to play for two CB's. He was not made for CDM with the intention of going forward but wpuld have been wonderful to fall deep in to a back 3 & be the CB that initiates play from deep.

Jose gave him 2 or 3 games at CB - didn't make a single mistake & got dropped permanently.
Really? How about that major blunder against City that directly caused us to concede?

Never the right man for Utd but an inevitable response to our situation and obsession with names and star recognition to keep us relevant. LVG was crap but we needed a better, younger version of him rather than going down the Mourinho short term route. More years and money wasted, Zidane would be repeating the same mistake.

I personally though mourinho would adapt to our club and not screw this opportunity, but he is as stubborn as lvg.

Jose never had the makings of a varsity athlete...and he's a god damn hot-house flower, that's his problem.

EDIT: Just realised what song you're referencing  Stupidly thought it was the Sopranos opening initially....fs United has fried my brain.

Some idiot will tell you we have improved and he is doing the best he can and no one in the world is capable of making a team worth millions play some sort of cohesive football to challenge a championship side at home.

Should concentrate on coaching some attacking play instead of leaking shit about Pogba not being our captain.

It's just going to get worse. It's like a lottery as we don't know on any given match day what we're going to serve up. We can lose to just about anyone at the moment it seems.

Less expensive than missing out on CL though, right? Not that I disagree, I think we're stuck with him for the season, or most of it anyway.
Winning th EL gives united a lot of money because of a favorable market pool

Edit: Ok I looked it up and it's amout as much as making it to the R16

No way will he be fired on the basis of a League Cup game. Watch him get a few jammy PL wins to sort of steady the ship, before getting another disastrous result.

Yet the championship side played more cohesive football than us without spending a fraction of what he has...

Losing on pens isn't the end of the world. We shouldn't have lost against Albion, but overall points wise it's not that bad. We have to beat West Ham and Newcastle though, if we continue leaking goals, and not get the necessary points, it's gonna be difficult to get more than a Champions-League place at the end of the season in the league.
