Will the fans who want Mourinho gone admit they were wrong when a new manager comes in and does no better with this group? I doubt it. Sacking Mourinho will do nothing, squad needs serious investment.
The squad is not particularly good you are right. Because the man in charge has wasted staggering amounts of money. Hopefully the new guy wants to attack and actually has a clue in the transfer market.

I was convinced LvG was gone after that Southampton game, which was a lower point than this, so I can’t see him being sacked any time soon. Things will have to completely implode for him to go imminently.

It's a matter of money. The second the champions league was mathematically out of reach, Moyes got sacked and Van Gaal got sacked (lasted 1 extra game because of the cup final, but we lost out on CL on the last day). I'd suspect we'll see him sacked when we miss out on CL
So if we finish 4th we're fecked?

I miss Moyes, at least he came with vaguely amusing mouse mat memes - far more than Jose offers at this point.

Seriously though how long are the board going to pretend everything is fine? The entire club has gone off the rails

Look forward to hearing how our failure to beat Derby is Woodward's fault for not giving Jose yet more money to blow

Get the new coach in and let him start now without too much expectation and pressure. No use waiting. We have a lot of catching up to do. If it's Zidane, make sure you hire a world class back room staff for him, and let's get on.

I was firmly Mourinho in and I still am mostly. More and more I just can’t get animated about it.

I don’t think a new manager is going to turn Lukaku into Van Nistlerooy so why get wound up about it? Jose stays, Jose goes, I’m not expecting it to make a massive difference.

It’s the same with signings. We’ve bought so many big names since Di Maria & Falcao and they’ve pretty much failed. Why should we expect managers to be different?

This is our level. Open your eyes. A title could be 10 years away.

Well keeping him does nothing either.

I don't think there's many better managers out there. I Zizou would be in for a shock when he sees that Lingard/Rashford/Lukaku isn't Bale/Benzema/Ronaldo. Smalling/Jones are quite a way from Ramos/Varane too.

I agree on the principal. The club is a total mess but we're at a point that Mourinho himself needs to go so that we start construction of the club.

It's simply not working for him. Has been going from bad to worse. He needs to leave, then loads of changes will need to be made.

After the disasters of Moyes/LVG I don't trust most managers with transfers, especially when you've got Woodward as a quasi DOF telling people who they can and can't sign.

Which one of Jose signings have been good enough? The squad needs investment yes, the man leading/picking them needs changing too.

I think if you break down his transfers they've been largely positive. Pogba and Matic are good enough for most elite teams, Lukaku was the best available striker on the market (was between him and Morata) and Bailly is our best CB when fit. Miki only cost 30m which is buttons in this era and got us Sanchez. Lindelof has been a flop but I like the look of Fred.

We don't need serious investment (or a decent manager) to win against Derby or Wolves at home. The guy has lost the dressing room and once he did that he's out

It's a bigger reflection on the mentality of players in our dressing room than Mourinho for me. I'd be happier to give him the abuse if this squad had won big titles and achieved something, the fact that there neighbours are running away with everything and they just bottle it with these performances is shocking.

feck off mourinho feck off mourinho feck off mourinho feck off mourinho........ fade to Zidane........

Yet the championship side played more cohesive football than us without spending a fraction of what he has...

Don’t worry, people deep inside mourinho’s arse aren’t capable of seeing anything. Luckily only few daft idiots remain there.

I can't come up with any reasons to not sack him. We might go on a another good run for a few games but results like this will happen again and again this season.

All the drama, shit football and spilt among fans is really not worth keeping him.

Losing on pens isn't the end of the world. We shouldn't have lost against Albion, but overall points wise it's not that bad. We have to beat West Ham and Newcastle though, if we continue leaking goals, and not get the necessary points, it's gonna be difficult to get more than a Champions-League place at the end of the season in the league.
More than a "champions league place" in the league means the title man.

It would have to be Zidane.

Difficult to see beyond Zizou at this point, you would have to expect Woody and the board to be thinking along the same lines.

It's just a matter of time at this point, Jose will be gone before long.

I'd rather give Carrick or McKenna the job on an interim basis than continue on the way it is. At least they won't alienate half the players and we can buy some time before we appoint someone. We already well on our way to throwing the season away at this stage, but I doubt Woodward has the balls to do anything unless we go out at the group stage and are hovering around mid table in the run up to Christmas.

It isn’t, it’s just poor choices after poor choices.

Reactive decision making rather than proactive at board level. Wrong managers in terms of style. Wrong strategy in the transfer market. Everything is just so badly run at the moment.

By virtue of everything you've just listed, the United job (at this moment in time) is a poisoned chalice.

I wonder who is chucked under the bus tonight?

Mourinho is running out of top players to blame. I’m thinking Lukaku is next.

Well I haven't mentioned Zidane. We need to go "caretaker mode" before giving the job permantently to someone

YEEOOO That's the spirit!

We are squarely in 15/16 Mourinho territory now. Like Hazard, Pogba has problems with him. Then a string of losses and inability to string together a winning run (3 consecutive wins ain't a "run"). Humiliating performances against lesser teams. Loss of the "Home is a Fortress" advantage etc.

I hope Ed wakes up and sees that just like Chelsea's 15/16 season, there can be little chance of a revival under Jose.

Winning th EL gives united a lot of money because of a favorable market pool

I'm pretty sure, earning the amount of money winning Europa is less than that team were knocked out in the round of 16 UCL total prize, even without market pool money due to the position if finish outside the top 4.

Who did Mourinho waste money on? Lindelof has been the only flop. Pep inherited KDB/Aguero/Silva/Kompany/Otamendi/Sterling etc and even then out spent Mourinho.

Shouldn't be to long then. How we go to West Ham on Saturday and get anything is beyond me especially as he'll probably drop Martial and play Sanchez.

Sad to say I finally voted and it's José out, I'm afraid.

Whilst I stopped being a Jose 'fan' after some of his antics at Madrid, I accepted that he was by far our best option at the time.

What is it with him and 3rd seasons? Does he just get bored, or what?

Anyway, I am ready for Zizou.

Did the fans sing Jose's name and showed their undying love for him?

I know I'm going to get heat for saying that but how on earth is Mourinho still getting support for this team he built after 2 and half yrs, it's simply beyond me.

I seriously can't take another full season of this. Problem is not many good coaches are avaliable.

Serious question. Would you guys take Wenger now (Wenger ball) over Mourinho?

Zidane will be in for a shock if he comes here, I mean the technical level of some of our players will give him nightmares

Some of them will yell "Witch!" when they see him train with them.

Yes I edited my post you're right. It's just that english teams get more than teams from other country for winning the EL, but it still doesnt compare to the CL.

Isn't it interesting that we faced both Wolves and Derby in the last week. Two sides who were in the Championship last season and are now coming to Old Trafford playing better football than us.

It's utterly absurd. Mourinho is stuck in his old ways and he's never going to change.
