I am with Andycoleno9 here. Who do you bring in? (please don't say Poch) He is one of the best managers in the world and should be given the rest of the season.

The players are playing for him. The fans are chanting his name throughout the game. Liverpool, Chelsea and City will drop points. We have scored 2 goals in every game we have played this season.

I really think we will push for the title this season, not saying we will win it but we are nowhere near as bad as people make us out to be. He may not be the Jose of 2004/05 but it was a different league back then, nowhere near as competitive as it is now.

Who si better than him? Guardiola if you give him 1 billion euros and who else...?
He is the best in the world, only one who should be a debate is Pep, the rest are nobodies still, unless they start winning things, and before anyone mention s Zidane too soon and you can't judge from one team he needs to do it elsewhere too.

Not even in the same post code unfortunately lol
It seems its very hard for anyone to come to United now and be regarded as good enough, or even good. We've had the likes of John O'shea being made cult heroes here, now even a renowned manager like Mourinho, world famous for his achievements in the game doesn't stand a chance here. Not good enough, clueless, doesn't know his best 11.

He might have been overtaken by Guardiola as the best, but not too long ago he was regarded second in the world to Sir Alex, and soon as he comes to United he shouldn't even be talked about when discussing the best of the best in the coaching suburbia? Like he's some hoodrat pullin tricks to get the job. Absolutely ludicrous implication and just very very weird.

Changes my mind from first to the third option. I'm genuinely surprised and happy of the way we've been playing in the last two games, especially against Watford. The improvement is just so massive, it reminiscence the Fergie's era, when we could just create tons of goal opportunities (in the 1st half, notably).

If only we had better attacking unit than now, I'd be pretty optimistic we can win a trophy or two with how we play. Although the key is to keep Pogba stay fit for the whole season. He's the key to everything good coming from midfield. Maybe Pereira could be Pogba's sub.

The first half was encouraging even though it was against Watford. We need to sort out the likes of our 2nd half performances before we can hope we are progressing nicely this season.

Attacking the box with numbers had been a rare sight for us for last few years even before Jose. Seeing that at times in this game in the first half was a bit of a joy even though obviously it should have been our regular playing style.

Baby steps.

One of the best managers in the world (still is, regardless if one sees Guardiola and a select few ahead of him). Watching the team play, you can tell Jose knows exactly what he's talking about when he wanted certain players in certain positions. That gaping hole at RW and unsteady CBs are on display every game for all to see. Hopefully the gradual shift to more proactive, attacking football despite a shaky backline continues going well.

The anti-Mourinho media and pundits are all steaming under the collar right now and it's so fun to watch as they try their best to dig up his faults from 20 years ago to slate him and United, just like some of our pathetic fans on here.

The snakes have been quiet of late...

Mourinho winning...Smalling scoring...Fellaini MOTM today
Small margins though, skin of teeth results really (I mean has anybody actually relaxed until 5 mins after the final whistle yet?). Drop a goal in each of the last two games which we quite easily could have done and the MO brigade would be deafening
Me included

Unlucky mate. maybe next time for you

Sky sports pops out on my Facebook feed. They had about 7,8 Liverpool news, how they showed their title rivals they mean business, again every pundit there discussing can they win the title, asking captain Hendo too who was in some funny outfit that looks like a kid pijamas and every little bit darling, funny Klopp said.

Just one mention about our game and it's about how we stopped a brilliant Watford run like we played prime Barcelona there.

Biggest credit for him is how he turned the tide from the ultimate negativity surrounding the team after 2 poor results to a positive atmosphere. I always thought his main problem is failing to deal with the pressure when his team is failing, but he did absolutely brilliant this time. His actions towards fans, defending his players, keeping us focused and going forward, while putting media in their right place.

Forget tactical things. His attitude to deal with the poor start and 2 terrible losses was better than anything he has done previously in his career in such situations imo.
Good post. Bad news for all those who are desperate to see his meltdown. Sadly many of those are United fans.

You sound gutted

Unlucky mate. Maybe next week we'll lose

I also cannot wait until he's gone.
Did I want us to lose yesterday? No
Will he win us the title? In my opinion no

He's not the right man for the job.
We've had one good performance against Burnley and lot of sketchy / bad performances this season, yet you're happy with that, I'm glad, at least we don't have high expectations these days

So who would you replace him with?

It is clear that a large number of Cafe posters range from not liking Jose to outright hating him and everything he does.
I am not one of those but do understand such views and sometimes find his press conferences irritating.

I certainly would not agree with those who call him a dinosaur; far from it.

In my opinion he should be given at least another season but winning the Premier league and/ Champions league will be incredibly difficult with standard of opposition.

One thing I would say is that he should be given credit for sticking with Fellani, Shaw and Smalling.
He also seems to be getting Paul Pogba to perform on a more regular basis.

You do realise that Mourinho gone = the club has done VERY bad - ie missing out on the CL. In other words: you can’t wait for the club to lose and lose.

It really doesn’t. Zidane just walked away from a champions league winning team, Pep walked away from league winners, Ancelotti. People can leave without the season having to be a disaster. If the powers that be don’t think he is the right fit for them they can pull the plug whenever they want.

If he is 8th or whatever is will certainly speed that process of him leaving up, but even that isn’t definite.

They can, but I think we can agree that it is not very likely. Zidane and Guardiola are outliers - I’m fairly sure Guardiola cited stress for leaving Barcelona instead of staying on and try to become the GOAT manager.

With relation to United directly, the board didn’t pull the plug on Moyes or LvG before they were mathematically out of the CL despite the fact that everyone knew they should be sacked, at least, six months in advance. In other words, Mourinho won’t be sacked unless he cocks up CL football or walks himself - and I consider the latter to be very unlikely.

So you're happy with a top 4 finish yeah? You're happy with becoming Arsenal I take it?
Just because we finish top 4, doesn't mean we should stick with the manager. If Mourinho gets top 4 but nothing else for the next 10 years, I assume you'll be happy? Because by your point, we'll stick with him until we drop out of the top 4.

But look at us, we aren't a team, we aren't playing good football and to be honest.
Who would I go for? honestly right this second, I've no idea. I wouldn't get rid of him until the club feel a suitable replacement is available, but I'd like us to have the balls to do it.
Liverpool did it when Klopp was a possibility, they bit the bullet early that season.

I just don't see how he improves us.

*I* am not happy with 4th, but it would seem like the board is. Either way, United finished second last year and not 4th - while the style isn’t pretty for those who want GOOD FOOTBALL there has been a clear progress in terms of what is important.

1st season: poor league campaign but two trophies and CL
2nd season: 2nd place and finally beating the Big Six teams
3rd season: Disappointing start, but it’s been four bloody matches.

Will take more than three games for me to change my mind. Our second half yesterday was upsetting.

Really? I loved the second half, we should have killed the game multiple times but when we didn't and Watford scored we pulled our balls out and put on a real guts and glory backs to the wall display still with a pacey counter attacking threat that also should have paid off. Comfy wine-and-fireplace 3-0 wins are nice but I prefer the differing variants of adrenaline yesterday much more.

I'm happy to give him a bit of leeway at the moment. We're better to watch and the overall atmosphere (Pogba talking to the media aside) seems alright. If we can keep picking up wins, fair enough, we'll see how the season pans out.

And it should also take more than 4 games for people to decide that the season is Over and open Mourinho Out thread, but ofc even 3 where enough for chaos in here, whereas you need more sample to give credit, double standards...

Also to people like Igor Drefljak saying ''So you are happy with finishing 4th since we are keeping Jose'' why would keeping Jose mean our maximoum achievement league wise would be top 4? We can win the Title, just cause you believe we can't doesn't make it anymore true than me believing that we can.
Boards keeps Jose cause he is a proven winner therefore gives more chances for Silverware, WHY is Klopp being mentioned, he hasn't won JACK SHIT yet for Pool, Jesus...

Up to you if you think people decided they were not for Mourinho over the first four games.

The team you supported finished runner up last season.

Get your own team stats right.

It’s funny that When we look at the standard at the top of the premier league, there are some on here who say we should sack him if we finish in the top 4. So should say, Man City retain the title, by that logic, should Sarri, Mourinho, Klopp, Poch, Emery all be sacked for not winning the title? Some people’s dislike of one man makes them go beyond reason and just spout utter thoughtless drivel. Que the garbage about attractive football......

Que the common sense you mean. You pretty much answered your own question. Maybe if you spent less time watching what the other teams are doing you would analyse our situation better. The simple fact is this marriage is not going to work it doesn’t look right and most importantly there’s too much cons. Watching United is pretty much torture and has been for 5 years. We are built from a different cloth we are not Chelsea, it’s a results and performance business for us and from the get go Mourinho has only been about one thing and if he doesn’t how that too. What is the point.

Doesn't matter if I count 1 or 100 to be honest, I didn't once say we finished 4th

@Sky1981 To be fair reading that your comprehension was just poor. Like Liverpool just ‘bite the bullet’ on this one

I guess that means you werent one of the people at the game singing "Jose Mourinho" yesterday then?
