Imagine that someone did tell you that one day we will be remembering Moyes era nostalgically.

Definitely worse than Moyes for me once you consider the big picture. Frankly, I don't even consider it a discussion unless you were dying for the League Cup or the Europa League.

It would be nice to actually have some sort of respect for our next manager (no matter who it is). Van Gaal failed but I liked the man and found him humorous. Both Moyes and Mourinho are so fecking horrible as people. Give me a reason to actually back the manager through the hard times.

Valencia just now has to be the final straw really.

Sure, LVGs football was boring as the system wasn't effective, but he actually had a system. This side has no direction, not to mention the absence of any intent in a game where we could clinch top of the group. Ok, it was a second eleven, but essentially it's LVGs team + Joses 3 most expensive signings. And who can even tell what our "1st eleven" is nowadays...

The worst manager we've had post SAF.

No team with a competent manager would perform as shockingly as we have this evening. There is a clear lack of passion, with no desire to win.

He is the virus, and we are in desperate need of the antivirus. It feels like a terminal diagnosis right now though.

Hands down worse than Moyes. Rather have Conte until the end of the season. Now that’s saying something.

Utter joke of a manager. Can't get a near 400 million pounds squad to score a goal against fecking Valencia. They're 15th in LA Liga ffs .

Guy is an absolute bag of shite in Europe. I don't think we've had more than 1 decent performance in the CL this season.

Young Boys 3-0 away was fine (not amazing, we weren't looking too good before we scored). 2-1 at home was poor.
Valencia 0-0 and 0-2 (so far) were absolute shite.
Juventus at home was really crap, and even though we won away the overall performance was still poor. Scrappy goals at the end plastered over the cracks.

Tonight's performance is stackable on top of all the crap we've had to put up with this season.

His tactics tonight are simply appaling, he is selecting players who should be rested for Sunday and he keeps incubating low standards. Also a finger up to the fans by not giving Greenwood or Garner a chance

Exactly this! Mourinho hasn't done anything to deserve our backing. His rant after Sevilla showed his lack of respect...why should we back a manager who constantly talks ill of the players, the club, the fans not making enough noise, the scouts, the board, etc. and pretty much never accepts any blame himself. All he does is moan about what he doesn't have and points out that the likes of Sevilla and Everton have players we should aspire to have. He gives the fans literally nothing to look forward to.

He was getting shown up in the CL at Chelsea too, which was his last hurrah. Europa League's about his level, and that too with probably the luckiest draw in the competitions recent history.

Who gives a feck if we're competitive as long as we don't have to pay full compensation to José, eh?

And we were very close to getting knocked out by Celta Vigo anyway! And fecking Rostov if my memory serves me right, with Romero pulling off an amazing save to deny them a crucial goal.

He's a definition of a coward. In a lost game won't even give Greenwood his chance.

We have had too many of these sorts of performances under Jose Mourinho.

Could have at least given a few mins to one of the kids. The game is over. But hey let's throw on Lingard again.
Really bothered me that. It was such a pointless lineup that achieved nothing.

If we wanted to have a real chance to top the group, play a strong team. If it's a pointless game and the focus is Liverpool, play the kids. Instead we've got this weird formation and a mish mash of players shoved into it. What's the point?

No one will beat Moyes.

I'll rephrase it for him. This season is the worst we have had post SAF. I preferred our style of play in Moyes' season, this season is abysmal. I never thought I'd say this but I'm actually losing interest. Though, the interest will probably come back once Mourinho is gone.

Easily worse than Moyes for me. He’s had nearly 3 years to create his own team, and some sort of style of play, and this is what we get.

What players has he improved? Have any signings have been a success?

He’s had enough time and he’s failed. Bye Jose you won’t be missed.

I've just lost all interest in watching us anymore. It's so boring and exhausting to watch. At least Moyes it was still exciting given the weirdness of the situation.

I bet he will manage to draw/win 1-0 against Liverpool, get semi decent results in the rest of big games and save his job in 2019, even without CL.

I am shocked that this is even debated now. He should be sacked now. I wonder if the match going fans who went to Valencia was serenading Jose?

I think he needs CL to stay as United manager for sure.

Can imagine a jammy 5th place with City getting a ban, securing it that way and staying on

Under Moyes and LVG we at least had the intention to score/play/win, even if the execution was awful. The intention behind half of Mourinho's games is some ulterior point he's trying to prove.
