You don't have to worry. The way our rivals are playing, top 4 is a pipe dream. He is gone by January or in the summer at the worst, but we will be unnecessarily frittering away this season when even an interim appointment might work some magic.
The problem is the way he runs his mouth is just making us look worse by the day and he's destroying the players' confidence. The club has a duty to correct that shit asap. It's the damage he inflicts on a daily basis that will put us in deeper shit. It's not wise to continue like this when there will be medium and long term damage. It saddens me so much.

He's hired two managers. Let's keep things in context and wise up a bit.

While letting the most attacking managers in the world snapped up by our biggest rivals and then expecting Jose to change his ways to suit this clubs traditions. Great strategy.

By the way, he hired all 3 of them. Sir Alex recommended moyes, the hiring decision is still at ceo's disposal.

Aye, as if he could say no to a living legend. That's gone real well for people in the past.

Dear me.

I'd rather wait until it's mathematically impossible to make the CL before we sack him.

We might get a three or four week honeymoon period if we sack him now, but then things could turn really ugly performance wise. No decent manager will want to go anywhere near us.
Many managers would love to manage a big club like ours.

Think the decision to hire moyes was made before he took the helm of footballing decisions. Gill and SAF effected that decision I believe

Any 'damage' Mourinho has done can be repaired in one season with good recruitment. I swear you reactionaries have no capability of looking at past events, just use your emotions to predict the end of United as a club.

Woodward seems to think like the fans, its all about the manager. Forget about every other club having a smooth transition because they have a good structure. It's all on Moyes, then LVG then Mourinho then the next manager until we find the next SAF.

David Gill retired at the same time as Fergie - if anyone is to blame for Moyes it’s David Gill.

Well, it took him 8 months to throw"your job now is to stick by your manager" quote out of the window. I think all the due process was followed in moyes appointment as well, it was not like it was gifted to him.

Agreed. If United can nab Alderwerield on the cheap (or free) and buy another top drawer centre half plus a top right winger, it's an absolutely brilliant squad that any manager would be delighted to take over.

The Sunday Miror quotes him today (Oct 28) a saying:
  • Jose Mourinho has fired another jibe at his Manchester United boss Ed Woodward by claiming the Old Trafford boardroom lacks a winning mentality.
If this is true, he could be fired for gross misconduct. I firmly believe he looked to get himself sacked during that second stint at Chelsea and maybe he's doing it again...

1. That’s not a quote, it’s a summary.
2. He’s right if he did say it.
3. It’s the mirror. How many times is that paper going to make shit up before people stop using it as a source? Or did Jose get the sack regardless of the result against Newcastle and I’ve just been drunk since then?

As for getting himself sacked? Maybe, but one things for sure he’s telling the truth every time he opens his mouth about Woodward and the board. The club does lack a winning mentality. The club does need to keep investing year after year if they want to be serial winners. Woody and the board seem to have an arsnel mentality of top 4 is good enough. Regardless of whether Jose is the right man to take us forward, woody is not and that board needs a kick up the arse if they are holding us back also.

Think he's Jose's signing. Those quotes about Lindelof being from his inside sources was him suggesting that much. Furthermore Lindelof I hear was nicknamed the Iceman because of how cool he was in defence. Based on that description you could see how Jose would want a young defender like that. His composure just didn't translate to the PL (not yet anyway).

What inside sources?

Also, Jose has always preferred no nonsense meatheads so long as they are semi decent on the ball. He wouldn't go for a sub standard defender just because he's composed in possession.

We could get Alderwierald on a free in 18 months time! We really aren’t far off - but need to do what Liverpool did - identify our biggest weaknesses and break the back for the best players you can get in that position. They went and broke the world record for a CB and then did the same for a keeper. If we did the same for a CB and a right winger, we would be in business. We need to stop spending £30m on CB’s that aren’t better than what we have or £50m on a a midfielder that’s just going to be a squad player.

Yes exactly, we have some brilliant players that with some additions can be a very good team. That is why I'm not bothered about him getting the sack, this team should not be playing this badly we should be a solid top 4 team. It's fine if you don't get 95 points to win the league because that's very difficult but at least have a respectable level of performance.

I think you alluded to this already, but Mourinho has thrown a strop because he didn't get the CB and RW that he wanted. The same happened at Madrid and Chelsea where the club didn't get him the players he wanted so he started getting hostile.

Even if what Jose says about Woodward were true, you don't criticise your boss in public, you have a word behind closed doors. What he's doing is blatantly deferring blame on to someone else to cover up his own failings, and to give himself an excuse for when he gets sacked. However the excuse is bullshit because he's been backed plenty and made a mess of it. Managers with less resources are outperforming him.

Woodward's have exactly got back what he himself is doing to the managers he has hired and the treatment they got with the stuff leaking out in the media before the managers received information themselves.:D. He tried to save his arse by the 100 m on varane comments himself and blamed it on Jose.

Classic drama unfolding at the club.

I think lindelof's critisim has been way over the top on cafe. He needs to be more aggressive surely, but I expect him to improve with a good midfield and a better strategy than to play without the ball and without the press. It's the team who has to defend as a unit, and what's happening in front of our cbs ain't helping them one bit.

I’d have been kinder to him if he showed John Stones-esque balls skills, thing is, he’s not even that good on the ball.
With that considered I expect a much better centre half than what he’s shown for either United or Sweden so far.

Well playing from the back and building is not a grand plan of Mourinho's team, I don't think he would be even doing it in training if that's not your philosophy, so its expected that players regress at their skills which they don't practice on daily basis and also there is little attacking movement up front to receive the pass as well.

Never knew you were psychic

Huge 90mins coming up for Jose. If we come out sluggish at home again I'm gonna scream. It's gonna happen though, isn't it.

I think it will be a fairly comfortable win today with 3 in the middle and fred doing his bit to sort out mid mess. Though I expect their keeper to pull off some great saves and frustrate us.

Why do you say that? Everton haven't been too shabby this season.

But hope you are right obviously.

Football doesn't practice playing with the ball in training? Have you ever played football for any kind of pro or semi-pro side @Patrick08?

I think the WC has done a lot of damage to Mou plans for this summer , it is so obvious Matic is tired , Lukaku also I think

I see the thread has turned into the full time Woodward attacking thread, if we maintain this victory it will die down till the next bad run

Van Gaal just praised Jose Mourinho on Dutch TV (Ziggo Sport).

He said that United is not a football club a football club like Bayern. Man United is a commercial club. Football comes in the second place. He did not expect United to be a club like that.

He said that Jose should have been backed, they didn’t back me as well. If you put another coach there he will have the same problems that I faced and now Jose is facing.
