I feel obligated to log in and say that its time up. This is ridiculous at this point. He has lost the team. He is ruining what otherwise could be a salvageable season with a lot still left to play for. He is making our star players want to leave.

TRUTH... we have the players/ talent/ history and fans to be better than this. much better.
TRUTH ... our style of play does not work any more. It just doesn't. not with the team we have.
Our team needs goals and confidence. We need to attack.

Times up for Jose. In for Zidane for a 3 year contract with a 4th year option.

Think there was always a chance Martial would play as he has a good scoring record against West Ham, but there again so does Sanchez and he dropped him altogether.

Seems like it was to silence the demands for Martial to play. Now he's mocking the fans for it!

If you didn't know it before, you should now - he needs to go.

He's got too many players underperforming or lacking confidence.

I doubt he will leave 20 m pounds and walk away. He will wait till we sack the fecking looser. I have no respect for him.

The squad is not good enough to win the title - but it is good enough to play a decent brand of football. Klopp did that with a much much worse squad & they have a belief around that club that gets stronger with every purchase and every month that passes.

I just want that - a footballing belief that revolves around good football. Trophies happen secondarily to good football more often than happening the other way around.

Think you'll beat Valencia and Newcastle.

Get the feeling a bad beating by Chelsea at the Bridge will be tipping point game. Always a bogey ground for you guys and don't think you've even scored a goal down there since Mourinho became manager?

We don’t look solid, we don’t look like we’re taking risks either.

We’re struggling against most teams we play, despite mostly playing teams we really should dominate.

I think a change would be good now, let Carrick and McKenna take over for the moment than try to get a new manager in.

At the start of the season, on the back of that terrible preseason, the bad signs were obviously there. But after the Watford match I felt we saw a turning of the corner. The players were still playing for him and he was still trying to win matches, with the away fans loudly backing him. After today it looks like that's not the case anymore. He's lost the players and he looks only interested in "winning" petty arguments. Time's up.

I guess the buggers surprise is that it's happened so early in the season. Hopefully the board make a move sooner than later and we can salvage something this year. And then they feck off Woodward from the football side too.

I'm not confident of winning any game at the moment. Valencia will be tough.

I think they are just showing us they are just not better than this. At least I’m not surprised anymore.

It's the very public nature of the pissing matches too that is a big problem. It's all too easy for a player, or a manager, to throw out an off-the-cuff remark in the knowledge that the press will seize onto it and turn it into a major story. It's too easy for a player to post on social media remarks that are detrimental to the club. You can't un-ring that bell and no amount of backtracking or saying it was taken out of context can repair the damage.

Look, I have no doubt that something is rotten at United but all this airing of the club's dirty linen in the press has caused a schism. Keep it in-house FFS.
Exactly. Even Fergie fell out with players but you only knew the ones that were moved on and thats when you heard it as well; Right at the end. Other players joked of the hair dryer treatment but no or very few details came out

Is there any point in sticking with Jose? Even his most ardent defenders accept that the greatest appeal of having him at the healm is his ability to win.

He’s not doing this, and doesn’t look like changing it around any time soon. Players are not buying into his methodology and the football is a disgrace for a club of our stature.

The only point would be financial, which becomes moot when you think of the value of the club and its players going down by the game with him in charge.

We have an awful record against Spanish teams so I can see Valencia causing us problems if they have a go at us.

Newcastle are terrible, but Rafa will have his players up for that one. He will love nothing more than to beat Mourinho.

Chelsea, 1 league win at the Bridge in 17 years. Its not our favourite ground

He doesn't. He wants the money.
This. I think making sure he gets a decent pay-off is pretty much all he is focused on right now. Sickens me to even think that, let alone write it, but United are just an absolute shambles just now, complete laughing stock.
I think he has alienated most of the players and now there are probably only a very few that want to play for him, if any at all. He's turned the club into a circus.

I'm not convinced United will sack Mourinho until the end of the season, it gives them time to hire the director of football the board has been on about; then choose the new manager. There aren't many options for an interim, or even a long term manager at the minute. I think Jose will stay, United will finish fourth, then he'll leave in the summer. We'll see.

Liverpool hasn't won anything so we'll see. The real question is that if we were so good last season defensively, what is the reason behind our current struggles since we have the same players/manager. We should be very close no ? Why isn't it working ?
Brilliant reply. Well said.

No chance Jose will leave because that would portray the message to the masses that he is accountable for our current problems on the pitch. Jose will need to be sacked, but Woody and the board are reluctant to do so due to the hefty compensation he will be awarded.

A ridiculous situation when you think about it, United is one of the richest football clubs on planet earth, just pay him off and be done with it. We all know Jose isn't turning this around, not having lost the dressing room in a manner of his own selfish doing.

When Chelsea fired him, they had just given him a new 5 year contract in August. Yet they still went ahead with it.

Keeping him hurts us each day that he remains within the job. He will make sure that he burns the place down if he is allowed to. That's jsut typical Jose. Anyone that saw the end of his Real and Chelsea stints knows that it usually gets even worse from here.

The similarity between Jose's third season with Chelsea and his current season with United is glaringly obvious, so much so that I'm shocked you do not see it.

I laughed at people when they suggested the same thing would happen with United, I couldn't for the life of me imagine us suffering the same fate, but it has happened. They were right. People need to be honest and admit it.
Same. I was borderline disdainful of anyone who sought to try and draw parallels ( especially at the outset ), but I was spectacularly wrong and can't for the life of me credit how this particular dog can return so often, and with such unerring accuracy, to this particular pile of vomit. It's like he can't help himself in the same way that Suarez still salivates at the site of a center-halve's shoulder blade. I suppose, by now, it's a type of conditioned response, especially as things start to implode, but from the outside I just can't fathom why such a gifted individual doesn't show a modicum of self awareness and attempt to break the pattern.

If you were to offer a fair assessment of the squad's capability, man for man compared to those you mentioned, I don't think we would be far off if at all.

It's difficult to make that assessment given the way we are playing, but under a new manager with an entirely different tactical approach, I honestly believe this team isn't far from a title challenge. A few adjustments here and there and a few quality additions just might see it happen.
Mourinho isn't getting the best out of them but the players are just as culpable as Mourinho imo. Everyone's opinion is different on this though and it's hard to know really, what they're capable of. We won't know until we see them under a different manager.

I think it's wishful thinking to believe that we just need to get rid of Mourinho and all will be rosy. I assume it's some peoples way of coping to think that the solution to get back to the top is so simple.

That will not happen under Jose.

People underestimate how bad things are for us. Not a chance we finish 4th.

We have been playing awful for a while, it's only this season we're finally getting punished for it. Too many posters on here have been burying their heads in the sand to deny it.

Firing Jose isnt the answer to our problems. Its part of the solution.

But keeping him isnt the answer to it either. He is done here. He knows it. The players know it.

Just can't see us getting fourth as you say. To do that he would have to get these players onside and it looks like there is no chance of that. Like a lot on here I actually think he is trying to get sacked. It is like a stare-down between him and the board and f*ck the fans and what happens to the club.

We've seen these players play better under other managers, including LvG.

We haven't a hope in hell of finishing 4th. Even Arsenal look like a better side than us right now.

You just need to watch the first 7 minutes of Chelsea v Liverpool to know we're fecked as long as Mourinho is in charge. Two teams trying to win a football match.

Agreed, I can't see him turning the players around. His voice has become stale, his constant complaints of his players never were going to be a successful strategy to unite the team, and the fact that he never takes responsibilities himself when he has been in charge for three years now is just weak leadership.

At least he'll finally be able to check out of his hotel room.
