Man's waiting for his final payment. Now way he turns around this. The ship has sailed.

Sacking him isn't going to be some magic bullet. The problems run deep; we have some serious issues at this club. Saying that, i see no reason why we should keep this guy on at this point. We're on one trajectory here, and it's down. It seems like his tenure is finished, in my opinion. I wanted him to sort his shit out this season and kick on, but it looks like it's broken beyond repair at the moment.

You and some may have convinced yourselves of that, there was a sizable portion of us who felt Mourinho was a disaster waiting to happen. Not only will he be gone soon, but the damage he has done will not be easy to repair for the next manager either. Whether it's his tactics, man-management, or attitude, Mourinho has been a massive, massive failure.

I was being polite. I've been Mourinho out since halfway through last season.

I'm not the only one who's called him a narcissist. Plenty of articles written about it, plenty of people inside and outside of football have said the same things.
It's not like narcissism is a serious mental ilness anyway. Hardly a big deal if someone calls him that.

To be fair there was something wrong right from preseason. It was one of the worst preseasons we've had in memory.

Was at work watching the first 10 minutes and after that I turned it off. Sure, I had to work butbu wasn't really bothered that I wasn't going to watch it. We usually have no response when we get behind, and I didn't think this was gonna be any different. I've been laughing most of the day because I'm tired of getting mad and upset when we lose now. My mind is just using coping mechanisms to handle this.

Isn't that the big worry. That he will pull more tricks like today to completely sabotage our season, just so he can get his money.

Well its in the hands of Woodward now. I mean Ed could basically sack him today and avoid aforementioned issues. Knowing the incompetence of Woodward, safe to say he'd wait till we get kicked out of CL and fail to reach top 4.

In ideal world he would be in and players out. Players today are in charge in big clubs. Reign of coaches who are the boss like Jose, Fergie or Wenger is over. Now it is friendly "lets be friends" managers era.
Today manager can't say bad word to player. Pathetic times

Then do you get a top manager and top players without CL football?

Not necessarily.

Sacking him now could have a rejuvenating effect on a squad of highly talented footballers. They just need to be sparked into life, given an element of freedom to produce their best performances. This squad is a great deal better than what they are showing of late, I don't think that is even up for debate.

He should go immediately, no need to wait and see because everbody knows the gig is up. We're also losing several players who are not renewing, understandably. Ed saved money this summer, spend some of it on sacking Jose and it might even be financially beneficial in the end.

It's not incompetence - it's competence. He is saving the cost of the termination payout to make sure the EBITDA is better than ever before. He really is the CEO - that's his job description.

I agree. We looked way off it. Which is what made the endless "it's only preseason!" replies when people were bringing it up even more asinine.

So he is saving on that but might lose millions if we don't get into the CL?

Thank you for at least winning something in the last couple of years Jose and bringing champions league back to OT. Unfortunately it should be time for you to go now. Hes taken the club as far as it will go with him. That team and setup he put out today should be the last straw.
We won the CL and I didn't know it?

The last high-profile sacking mid-season I can remember right now is Zidane taking over for Benitez, they ended up winning the CL. Now, I know the circumstances are far different, but the team looked completely rejuvenated with a new voice and philosophy. This team needs that as well.

Do you not think Guardiola, or Klopp say harsh words to their players...?

How about Zidane? Remember his falling out with Bale?

How about Simeone? Or Conté?

Mourinho is a very divisive figure, and his time at United has brought 2 decent trophies, but now is time for the club to move on.

I mean we're on a downward trajectory with him in charge. I'm saying he should probably go. I agree with you; it just seems like it's over.

Well Woodward leaked to the press that United would have no problem spending 100+ million on a defender like Varane....well he would want to put some of that money together to get rid of Mourinho right now

How much more shit and worse is this going to get? What's it going to take because Mourinho is finished with this club, he wants to get sacked and his team selection today was baffling.

We are the biggest embarrassment worldwide in football right now

Then do you get a top manager and top players without CL football?

Manager wise Pool got Klopp w/o CL, Sarri to Chelsea, Potch to Spurs (?) lot of examples are there. We need a proper coach who could implement the system and find players fitting the system and not just big names. My choice would be go with Carrick for now ad go all out for Potch next year.

Any other big club would've sacked him already. They wouldn't have accepted this level of incompetence.

We're not getting top 4 this season. The faster people live with this the better.

Get a caretaker to take the job for the rest of the season and hope for good luck in CL. League is done already. We have been here several times before.

Maybe with the league out of our eyes the new caretaker can make a good shout in CL or something.

So the team out there should just jog around and do nothing? The team he puts out should try at 100%. They aren't because they want him sacked.

Doesn't make any sense. Some of them are being picked because Mourinho likes them more than most. Its in their interest to do their best and keep him around

McTominay, Fellaini, Young, Lindelof

Whoever the next manager is going to be, they are unlikely to rate these players as highly and give them as many chances as with Mourinho.

9 points of the top with the potential to be 11 (If Lpool win) and we're still in September :lol::lol:

So he is saving on that but might lose millions if we don't get into the CL?

Sarcasm was missed it seems.

Anyway - yes, he has done that before so no reason he doesn't do it again. Jose gave an interview a couple of weeks back where he said that his job is safe coz United have to pay him a lot of money to give him the sack.

With no replacement currently lined up - there are no guarantees we will make it to the top 4 with a new manager.

The way ED (who is one of the most egotistical CEOs we've had) would see this is that, if he makes the decision to get rid and we still don't make it to top 4 - the loss of CL revenue is on him alone. If Jose is in charge when it becomes mathematically impossible, it's Jose's fault.

Sack him and get Zidane in. Still early in the season. So plenty of time to salvage things.

We’ve not had an attacking manager since sir Alex retired, it’s mind boggling. Can we please get an attack minded manager in please. I’m sick and tired of watching boring football, and being outplayed by absolutely everyone.

He won't go yet,

True, Zidane however was already in place at Madrid B and ready to step up
Bayern also sacked Ancelotti during the group stage of the CL but could rely on Heynckes to come back

Who's ready to step in here?
Mourinho's time is up but we need to get the next appointment right, league is gone, but we're still in the Champion's League
