The MMA thread

Apparently UFC 236 did awful PPV numbers and that was actually a good card.

I reckon this will do the worst PPV numbers ever.

UFC don't give a feck anymore.

ESPN now pays them a fixed amount per PPV. (The average of last year's PPV events)

It makes you wonder how much they need their "stars" anymore. Brock was the first casualty (he wanted 10 millions flat fee, Dana said feck you). What will happen when Conor ask double or triple of that?

Yeah short term it's ok for them long term they're fecked if it carries on. They get paid for every PPV the same as if they did 500k buys. But long term they still need big stars to keep the company going.

Like you said, Brock is done, Conor probably has a couple of fights left (if they pay him) then there's people like Jones who get good buy rates but outside of that there's no one really. It's ok over here cos we get it all on BT Sport but apparently in America it's a nightmare to buy a card now so I've read?

Never been a fan of 'Thug Rose' but something tells me that this is going 5 rounds. Damn it's hard not to favour Andrade though. She's got thunder in those hands. That said I can't say I love Andrade either, so will be interesting watching this fight as a neutral. Wouldn't mind a Andrade-Joanna rematch when all's said and done....

Ferguson-Cerrone Will be amazing!

No nonense dramau Queens who love to fight.

That's transformed 238 from mediocre to must-watch. Cowboy will be sorely missed when he eventually retires. Going straight from a tough five rounder with Al into a potentially brutal fight with Ferguson in a little over five weeks is crazy. Only downside for the fans is this will presumably be a three round fight?

Fancy Rose to win in fashion tonight or quite comfortably over the scorecards. IMO with Rose it's a mental thing and if she's mentally where she needs to be IMO she beats anybody in the division.

Yep, gonna be a war probably, both will have their moments until El Cucuy sinks that darce and game over.

Man he absolutely sleeps him right there. I’m trying to get my BT Sport App to work so can’t watch it at the minute.

Except for the last fight you haven't missed much anyway. BJ Penn lasted like 2 minutes before his cardio was gone. Clay Guida kicked his ass.

Fair one. Think I’ll probably have to give a miss tonight as it’s still not working on my Xbox. I only pay £5 to stream BT so I can be temperamental. Not too bothered really except for Aldo Volkanovski. I’ll catch it tomorrow.

How did holobaugh survive that choke? Jeez.

See BT Sport they’ve the most cringe inducing adds on tv. :wenger:

Boom. Sparked.

Nougeira didn’t move well all fight but then again he could pass for my grand father. Hats off to him still competing.

Dominick Cruz sounds like Hosea Matthews from Red Dead Redemption 2.

Trying to get in Vince’s good books and emulate Lesnar more than likely for monster contract.
