Shit matchup stylistically too. I wanna see Tony vs Khabib but that's not gonna happen anytime soon. Max vs Khabib would be great too :drool:
 
I get that controversy sells but having your most famous sports star direct a racist post at an opponent before being accused of being a rapist in return has to be bad for the sport.

Tony against either of them would be a fun matchup IMO. Pity he's just not ready for a fight for a while.

I'm quite happy to watch Conor Khabib 2. But then I'm entertained by pre match and post match shenanigans so don't mind me.

It's sad that people try to excuse these type of actions and especially when they're even still fecking suspended...

For what it's worth, Ali Abdel Aziz is as big a twat as Conor is, those two really deserve eachother. But Khabib has always stayed classy up until Conor took things too far.

Khabib is far from classy he's a sexist homophobe who willingly takes money off dictators and is friendly with them. The narrative that he is this dead nice guy except when McGregor is around is just as biased as people defending McGregor.

I don't know of loads of people to defend McGregor either. I know people who may not be that arsed by the comments bit that's a different thing all together. I think sometimes people get more worked up by something that hasn't yet happened.
 
Conor and Khabib are two absolute scumbags. They are clearly going to fight next. Dana White will be living this Twitter crap no matter what he says in public.

Hopefully both will retire after. I wouldn't be surprised if they did either.

I've not been a defender of either but have to ask, what did Khabib do to promote himself as a sexist homophobe? Genuine question.

Also, the thing about aligning himself with dictators. I have a friend from that part of the world and he says "when these dictators align themselves to you, especially when your a celeb like Salah or Khabib, it's in their best interest to comply. Especially if they have family and loved ones there. You don't want to make enemies with the likes of Putin". Now I dont know how true this is but this is coming from someone who grew up in that part of the world.

As for classy, put it this way. McGregor is the one that runs around throwing racial/homophobic/fill in the blank slurs at people willy nilly. That's what he represents and promotes. As far as I recall, haven't seen too much ugly from Khabib bar the push up with homeless people thing (which was obviously a bad move) and his post-fight brawl after he beat McGregor.
 
The way McGregor is going with this, he'll only have himself to blame if he has something serious happens to him during or after the rematch. Especially after the last time.

He told a Q&A that any woman who wants to be a fighter should stay at home and "finish their husband" it is sexist. And for me hanging around with a dictator and posting pictures of him on Instagram, Twitter etc after he has made homophobic comments isn't a good look.

Maybe that is the case and it's easy for me to judge him fair enough but equally I think it's a valid point to suggest Khabib is hardly this angel who's only act of being a dick is when mcgregor is involved. What does McGregor have to do with women in the UFC for example and Khabib has commented on that. I'm not offended by either of them really, neither has particularly bothered me in the slightest. I've always thought that using celebrities as a pillar of society is a bit weird especially when they never promote themselves as such. It's ok to see them as a role model but for their sporting achievements etc, wanting to live your life and have your views represented by them is just a bit odd to me.

Conservative practice of Islam tends to bring with it sexist and homophobic views. While there's nothing directly from Khabib regarding homosexuality it's a pretty safe bet he wouldn't approve. As for dictators he's actually pretty close to Kadyrov - It's not just a photo-op thing.

He's a genuine scumbag.

It was just that simple last time. Khabib has the best ground game in the world and Conor is a very good (but not elite level) striker so barring something unexpected a rematch likely go down the same way.

I do agree that most likely the fights will go that way with Khabib. He's favourite against anyone.

I agree with this, but the issue I do have with this is that, at the top level, kids will always look up to sports stars. You can't help that. They don't have to be pillars of society, but I do believe there is a moral obligation to be a good role model.

Khabib is probably the most gangster of any fighter on the rosta ? He just gives off that vibe. If he were to meet Conor at some location, I don't think it would end well for Conor :lol:
