Wonder if they put DC vs Brock on that card as well so if Jones wins against Santos and DC beats Brock there is your next superfight even if it is a 3rd time.

On Jones, I always remember him saying it was a struggle for him to make lhw as he just kept losing weight and had to eat loads to stay there so heavyweight might be a push for him although he does seem a lot bigger now.

Edit: Another thing, who’s bright idea was it to put Gaeje vs Brandao? Are they try to kill Gaeje, he’s the kinda guy that will be willing to take some severe punishment to land one. I actually fear for him in this. It’ll probably be spectacular unless it becomes hugfest 5000.

Do you mean this weekend with Barboza?

It's a fun fight, both are no where near a title shot and it's potential for fight of the year really. I don't think Gaethje is to bothered about taking punishment he's done it long enough. i'm looking forward to it.

I’ve honestly no idea how I managed to write Brandao  I’m not even sure if I can blame predictive text for that one. Must have just spaced out.

I’m looking forward to it but Gaethje should be worried about the long term effects given all he has been through, I know Gaethje has the ability to win this but it’s a bad fight for him and someone at some point needs to step in for this dude as he has taken some seriously bad shots over his career.

I agree he takes to much damage and all that but he does seem to enjoy it and it's not like a BJ Penn situation where he is way out his depth.

He had 2 close fights with Poirier and Alvarez who are ex champions/title contenders, he beat Johnson and he easily beat Vick. He's had 250k worth of bonuses in all them fights to. He seems pretty aware of the situation etc so if he's happy to do it he might as well.

I’d hate to think what a brain scan on him would look like with the amount of concussions he hasundoubtedly had but yeah his fights are amazing things to watch it’s just a bit of a worry how he fights. Saw this.

I meant to mention this but I hope they get rid of Whitman. Most of what he says about the corner talk is just boring nonsense and his voice in general is just annoying as hell.

Would love to see Gaethe scrap with Conor.

It'd be a really interesting fight. Fighters who walk Conor down tend to pay dearly for it unless they have a cinder block head like Nate but then again Conor hasn't dealt with that type of striking pressure and leg kicks either. Justin against Ferguson would be insane too. Wonder if he has the wrestling to keep Khabib off him long enough to deal some damage. Guy is a stupidly exciting fighter to watch. Also puts into perspective the improvement that Poirer has made with his switch to 155. Division is crazy stacked right now.

I'd love to see Gaethje fight Khabib. I can't remember too many times Khabib was hurt bar maybe Johnson. It would be some first round.

Gaethje is an all-american wrestler, so no slouch. If he actually uses it occasionally he would be incredibly hard to beat (not that he isn't already!) His leg kicks are something to behold.

Trouble with Gaethje is he hasn't beaten anyone impressive yet. Barbosa has been fading of late and Gaethje just got clobbered by both Pourier and Alvarez. Stylistically I think he would be a good matchup for Conor. He's simply not ready for Khabib at this time imo.

thats a bit unfair. he had dustin in all kinds of trouble in their fight

ONE is live on YouTube

Great fight now to start the main card, Alvarez up next and DJ later.

DJ wins, was a really good fight tbf. Wakamatsu looked good especially in the 1st.

Just seen the eye poke in the main event, was pretty nasty even if unintentional. Justin was doing well before that but I'd be amazed if it didn't affect Barboza somewhat from that point onwards.

Also both DJ and Eddie looked like they were fighting guys 2 weight classes above them. Knees on a grounded opponent opens a whole new World of trouble for anyone fighting DJ especially since he's an animal in side control without them already.

It definitely affected Barbosa but even with the eye poke, Gaethje was already pretty aggressive with the leg kicks before that so I'm guessing the result would've been similar since he was beating Barbosa at his own game of kicking people into submission.

I would have been tapping out after that first couple of leg kicks  anyone who has ever eaten one of those knows how damn painful that is. I’d rather get punched in the face. That little section where they went “oh leg kicks, I can leg kick too” awesome. It’s just a shame the fight didn’t last longer but seriously as one of the best strikers on earth how you going to exit a clinch like that. That was sloppy and amateurish but maybe he took a shot just before that and I think he tried to push or grab him but still. Poor.
