I'm guessing it was help for his crazy weight cut.
What a disaster that fight has turned out to be. This happens 2 months ago and Cody doesn't take that fight to lose imo. 135 has gone from stacked to looking thread bare at the minute.

It doesn't really surprise me he's always had the look about him and there's been stories in the past (the one where cody basically admitted the whole of TAM are drug cheats being the classic one.)

Him giving up the title is a pretty big sign he knows he's screwed here, wouldn't do that if thought you'd get away with it.

True.

It’s a shame. I enjoy watching Dillashaw. That’ll be him out for a while now.

bit messy in the lower weight classes. Flyweight division future still up in the air, bantamweight champion relinquishing title due to USADA. Current featherweight champion next fight at lightweight. Current lightweight champ suspended

Apparently he got 1 year suspension, retroactive to the Cejudo fight, so January 19 next year he will be eligible to fight again.

A fecking shame. I hate cheaters... TJ has always been one of my favourites fighters. A hard one to swallow.

The sport is so dirty. :( Another fantastically stylish fighter who is now outed as a cheat. TJ had such confidence and swagger, to think he would act bold as brass whilst gaming the system is nuts.

If this is all down to 'assistance' to drop weight for Cejudo, it's the single worst career decision that has cost him on multiple fronts... I doubt anyone will be surprised if what Cody was intimating is true, however.

That was a nice moment.

Can't remember the last time i saw a whole arena chanting "USA! USA!" in the UFC. Good to see there are still some things that unite people.

Figuereido vs Formiga next

Been some alright fights so far, which is a bit sad, because i should've been sleeping now :(

Damn..... What happened?
Looked like Wonderboy was going to unleash on Pettis, then boom!
Was rooting for Wonderboy :(

I always find the USA thing one of the most ridiculously cringing things ever it's hard to watch!

Pretty average card but the KO was brilliant don't know if Pettis does much at WW but he's always good to watch

Was looking forward to that Wonder boy vs Showtime fight as if any two were going to put on a clinic it would be those two and someone was getting their lights put out but given the first round didn’t think it was going to be Wonderboy.
Love watching Wonderboy fight, think he is incredible and it’s beautiful to watch, but that shovel superman punch, damn, landed clean. However Wonderboy was a good fight for him stylistically, think Petis would get mauled by those above Wonderboy.

Crazy knockout. Pettis always puts on a show (when he is not being mauled by a wrestler). 155 is just by far the most stacked division. Every notable fighter who is stalled at LW and moves up seems to find success, Pettis, RDA, Masvidal, Chiesa etc. Love watching Wonderboy fight but he does seem to have some defensive frailties which are going to get you in trouble every couple of fights.

The result also opened a crazy bit of mma math: FW Champion Holloway -> Pettis -> Wonderboy -> MW champion Whittaker.

Wonderboy reacting to the fight. Very likeable guy.

McGregor has apparently retired, announcing it on his Twitter.

So, will you guys be ready to buy the super, mega, splendid and majestic extravaganza that McGregor’s ‘out of retirement’ PPV will be?

‘Cause I certainly won’t be. See ya, Mac. It was fun while it lasted, but let’s move on from his circus.

Yeah I'm willing to bet my house on seeing Conor in the octagon again very very soon.

"I'll only fight if the money is right"
He'll be back, I don't see him being extremely active but we'll see him in the octagon again. Fair play to him if it's real, he doesn't need to cut weight and get smacked in the face anymore.
