Hhaha Jurgen Klopp

"Before the fight, cutmen will usually put petroleum jelly on the most likely areas of impact, especially the fighter's face, making the skin more elastic and slippery, and hence less likely to tear."

They call vaseline "petroleum jelly" these days ?

An right uppercut with the power of a ford escort model 2019 is definitely something

Yeah I think Cruz straight after suggesting it was his knee that did it has forced that narrative somewhat. There is replays showing the uppercut and Cain was going down from that (which probably did the damage to the knee) but Ngannou definitely landed and deserves credit for it.

Exactly, one just have to look at the trajectory of Cains face to realise that something hit him really hard. My guess is that we was flash KO'ed, and because of the angle when he fell in an uncontrollable manner, his ACL/MCL received too much weight.

Sad it ended this way, but let us not fool ourselves. Cain got rocked and went down from the uppercut. I have yet to see somebody getting rocked by Ngannou and surviving to tell the story.. If the knee didnt pop, his faces would have got smashed.

And yea, Cruz wasnt helping either by discrediting Ngannou and giving Cain a "way out"

Haven't read the last few pages. Just wanted to say Cain is completely finished and needs to announce his retirement.

Tragic to see how far he's fallen from the prime athlete he used to be.

It was such a stupid matchup for Cain's return. Ngannou is the last guy in the company you want to face rusty - He's the most dangerous fighter in the UFC but only for a round or so. He's always looking for an early finish and it was never a fight he could ease into.

He'd of had to of fight him eventually.

Cain was apparently looking great in camp according to his biggest cheerleader DC. I am never huge on tune up fights really but for Cain especially it seems a bit pointless. He's hugely inactive, he hadn't fought for 2.5 years before the other night, he had a year gap before then and a year and a half before then. In all honesty the UFC probably saw it as all of nothing. He comes back and does well they try and get him to do a quick turnaround even though it's unlikely. He loses like he did and they're probably not to bothered really cos of how little he fights, Ngannou is more valuable to them than Cain is nowadays.

Like I said you don’t want to fight Ngannou rusty. Ring rust is real regardless of what Dominic Cruz says – Looking great in practice is one thing and even then DC would say that regardless. Regardless of how hard they’re training nothing will replicate a real fight.

He should have taken a fight without the same sort of instant KO threat – Blaydes or Volkov – Then fight Ngannou when he some rounds under his belt. In what little time he had everything he did was sloppy and he was punished.

Blaydes got KOed in 45 seconds 3 months ago I doubt he would of been allowed to fight and Volkov is fighting Overeem in April so them 2 couldn't fight really.

Going through the rankings there was no one else to really fight that is justifiable. People went mad when Valentina absolutely destroyed that woman a while ago as it was a huge mismatch so it shouldn't be any different for Cain, he had to be in a somewhat competitive fight surely. He was apparently looking good in training and is constantly touted as the best HW of all time by plenty of people so why should he get some easy tune up fight? Equally he looked pretty impressive on his last return after a big lay off.

I can't really blame the UFC to be honst, they probably know Cain is a huge injury risk and may get a massive lay off so didn't want to waste what is probably a limited amount of fights for him. Risk vs. Reward really for them, the division can't wait for Cain to potentially not fight for years again and this way it does create a huge buzz again for Ngannou.

It was actually Ngannou who requested for a fight versus Cain.. As crazy as it might sound...

Why aren't either of them fighting Rockhold or Romero, who are higher up on the pecking order.

Rockhold is a LHW now, and Romero is fecking around in some reality show so can't make it.

Seen a clip of Romero on that reality show the other day. Guy is an absolute beast compared to rest of them. Got a feeling USADA don't test people on reality shows in other countries...may be why he was so keen to do it
