John Howard has some pretty serious damage, reminds me of Sakuraba

Okami takes the split decision. Deserved victory, thought it should've been unanimous

Hoping for an upset here, but I reckon Jones will have too much. Think he has a lot of talent but he's a bit of a wanker, come on Vladimir

Made it look easy, thats how you take care of business. Hopefully Jones will get a serious serious test after this.

Impressive stuff from Jones, looks like he could go on a tear through the division. Hopefully he gets someone top level next.

Charles Oliviera looked pretty awesome in his debut in the prelims, got a really slick triangle/armbar like the one Werdum got Fedor in

He could easily move up to HW as well, apparently he was around 220 during the fight and with his frame he could pack on the muscle like Overeem if he wanted. Although he's a big threat at LHW, plenty of quality fights for him there.

Been confirmed that Aleksander Emelianenko has hepatitis apparently. KSW were looking to pit Pudzianowski against him but have called off the fight, saying Aleks has hepatitis C.

Predictable but still sad. Aleks is a great fighter to watch, some of the best hands in the HW division. Always needed to work on his cardio and reckless attitude but could've done serious damage in any organization

For feck sake. I love Pudz, but it was clear as day that he should have been fighting low-level opponents for 12-18 months if he was ever going to have a chance at being successful in MMA in the long term. I was saying that before the Tim fight too. He's nowhere near ready to be facing this level of fighter.

It was actually a little frightening watching Pudz against Sylvia, thought he was going to have a heart attack or something. A fight with Aleks would've finished very quickly for him though.

Don't really watch UFC but some ex UFC fighter called Roger Huerta got into a street fight after he saw a guy punch a woman.

Yeah, I clocked that over at the ug this morning. Bloke looked like he got what he deserved.

Looking forward to this weekends Brazil vs USA themed UFC.

What's everyones picks?

Read that UFC is coming to Dublin next March. Any Irish lads go to the one a couple of years ago?

If so were tickets easy to get and how much were they?

Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen
Thiago Alves vs Jon Fitch
Rafael dos Anjos vs Clay Guida
Ricardo Almeida vs Matt Hughes
Junior dos Santos vs Roy Nelson

Bad night for the Americans I reckon

I can't wait for Silva vs Sonnen. I don't think Sonnen has much of a chance and it might be another pisstake from Silva, but the amount of shit talking from Sonnen has been hilarious and I just want to hear what he'll have to say whether he wins or loses. If Silva does take the piss out of him it'll be painful viewing considering how Sonnen's built the fight up

Alves struggled to make weight apparently, came in over twice. Going to fight at 171.5 and have a % deducted from his purse.

Assuming Alves made a genuine effort to make weight, that's Fitch to win then imo. I can't see a weight-drained Alves having the stamina to make it a seriously competitive fight.

Should be a great event, although I know I'm going to be pissed off by the end of it as I want Sonnen to win and he won't. This reminds me so much of Hatton-Mayweather, where I'm rooting for the busier, tough as feck fighter that's going to end up being hopelessly outclassed.

I can't stand Sonnen's trashtalking. He's spouting all sorts of garbage, and he's not even that good. Can't wait to see him take a pounding

I think Sonnen's hilarious. On paper this should be a pretty straightforward victory for Silva and a pretty rubbish main event, but the way Sonnen has sold this one I can't wait to see it. He's set himself up to be utterly humiliated, but if Silva doesn't take him seriously he may be in with a chance, and the way Silva's responded to the trash talk it seems he'll want to play the clown again.

Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen

I would love Sonnen to win. Its that kind of reality check Anderson needs to become a better fighter and a more likeable fighter. And Sonnen's relentless wrestling and ground and pound should test Silva, on paper. But even though a win for the best trash talker in the sport would be absolutely brilliant. Its just not very likely. I'll predict a Sonnen win almost purely out of hope because he can win this fight by decision. But 5 long rounds against Anderson Silva would usually end with a Silva win, and a stoppage.

Thiago Alves vs Jon Fitch

Fitch to Fitch Alves. A long time out, problems cutting weight, rust. It'll be a better fight if Alves wins it but I think Fitch will instead.

Rafael dos Anjos vs Clay Guida

I know very little about Dos Anjos apart from him being a BJJ player. And I hope Guida wins and shows his improvement.

Ricardo Almeida vs Matt Hughes

Again, I dont know much about Almeida except that he's a BJJ player who can punch. If he's that good he should win this one.

Junior dos Santos vs Roy Nelson

A lot of people underestimate Big Country and I've been one of those in the past. But having seen what he can do, I have to say I'm not going to bet against him tonight. He has excellent JJ and is a skilled fighter. But so is Dos Santos. As long as Roy stops Dos Santos from picking him apart in the standup, I can see him pulling out an upset. But if the fight stays standing JDS will most likely end the fight with a K.O

JDS vs Nelson is an interesting fight, may finally get an opportunity to see what JDS' ground game is like. He's a BJJ black belt so you assume he's a bit handy, but Nelson is a big test if it does go to ground.
