Imagine the Conor vs Khabib press conference (if that would ever happen), with Conor saying that he put his arms around Putin, something even leaders with the possession of nukes wouldnt do

Would be one of the best cards ever imo, especially if UFC manage to put another one or two top fights on the card.

That fight will break any previous PPV record. The build up would be immense, especially with the bus incident. The fact that Khabib has his way of trash talking would make it a very entertaining press. However, i do doubt wether
this fight will actually happen. My bet is that they will book Ferguson against Khabib.

:nervous:

Speaking of Ferguson, he's already training 3 months after his knee surgery. I'm 4 months post surgery and just started jogging a bit, I want whatever he's taking.

yes. And i think Dana had the picks right too.

PVZ's guy showed a lot of toughness and heart, but not much talent. Didn't look anything special.

Next Tuesday is Nick Newell's chance.

So with enough training and dedication, I can kick his ass and claim PVZ as my queen? Is that what you're saying?

The amount of "tainted supplements" there is it's a wonder why they bother taking them at all....

I wouldn't be surprised if the UFC is done with USADA soon enough, they don't actually seem to do a great deal and if anything they just delay fights rather than ban fighters (JDS, Anderson Silva, Romero, Machida, Jones)

FYI I think most of the above are cheating but if USADA is letting them use this loophole it's not for me to judge them really.

Supplements can easily be tainted with the lax regulation in that industry. Even creams can have substances that are banned by USADA. And these are not always on the ingredients list. It's quite the slippery slope.

Yep not disputing that it can happen just that it seems a bit convenient to always be the case and go to line whenever anyone pops (Chad Mendes another example.)

Some are probably genuine but I'm pretty sure some have just found a good loophole and it seems to constantly work, kind of defeats the point of USADA really.

I've got some Ice mix for sale if you're interested? Just $100 per litre.

Depends on post supplement testing I guess.

I think the Cuban muscle crisis aka Yoel Romero popped and claimed tainted supplement so USADA checked and found a banned ingredient in his supplement that was not on the ingredients list.

But Jones saying he took dick pills and playing stupid doesn't fly with me. Case by case I guess.

Yeah I agree, I definitely think there's some legitimate complaints. I think Machida was one who got screwed over quite a bit and JDS to by reading the cases.

I think they're just causing a load of hassle for the UFC in hindsight and it could be a good way for the company to get out. I.e. they say there's to many inconsistencies for it all.

People finding loopholes in this stuff isn't of course just in the UFC in fairness but it does seem to be causing them a headache at the moment.

Unfortunately for the UFC, these sort of situations muddy the waters of whether someone is on PEDs or not, which then calls into question the entire legitimacy of the program as well as whether previous people who were accused of cheating were actually cheating.

So apparently moving to PPV (Sky or BT) model then with ‘regular fights’ on Eleven.

Me not likey.
Yeah it sounds like they're going the PPV route in the UK. I was hoping Sky Sports would pick it up and show all the cards on a dedicated MMA/boxing channel.

Anyone not very impressed by Sage Northcut?

His BJJ and all round grappling isn't very good from what I've seen. He's young and should develop but I don't really think he's much special right now.

He’s at Alpha Male now I heard. Last time I saw him was when he lost to MIcky Gall. He look very lightweight then. Luke Thomas was raving about him in the MMA hour saying how Alpha Male has made him into a contender.....

He won't be anywhere near the top until he's 26ish IMO. I'm glad he's at Alpha male now.

Was not impressed with him at all when he first joined the UFC but he's improved a lot since going to Alpha Male.

I thought he looked pretty sharp and did well to come out so strong in the second after being dominated for 95% of the first.

Liked his post-fight speech about words being powerful and that people should be more careful with the things we say as well.

He's improved quite a bit of late. Looks more comfortable on the ground and less likely to be submitted as easily as he was against Gall and Barbarena. If he develops any semblance of a ground game his athleticism and standup alone, should move him up the ranks considerably.

Yeah I understand he's improving. I was just surprised at how easily he was controlled on the ground given he's not even fighting top players yet . Very athletic though but needs to up his BJU and takedown defence.

Bear in mind he's only 22 so there is plenty of room for growth. What he does at his new training camp over the next 2-3 years will define how high he goes.

Anyone watching the event tonight?
I'm looking forward to seeing Emil Meek again.

He is fighting another grinder that will put him against the fence and take him down. He already fought the best at that on Kamaru, so I hope he is better prepared for this one. Got him to get the W.

Early prelims starting in 10 min.
