I hope Romero can connect one of his flying knees and put Rockhold to sleep. MMA gods please!
This. I absolutely hate Cuckhold.

Why are cubans allowed to compete in UFC but not in proffesional boxing? Or am I missing something?
They do both. Ortiz ?
Finished work late tonight.
Saw there were activity in this thread, so i searched for fights on ufc.com, could only find a friday card.
Which one was today ?
I hate romero just because of the 'soldier of god'-name, but as long as cockhold lost, i guess i'm happy
Can't fault Rockhold for anything there. Romero just caught him.
I hate to say it but you're missing something. One of the highest profile boxing fights last year involved a Cuban. Why are cubans allowed to compete in UFC but not in professional boxing? Or am I missing something?
Rockhold's face as Romero was right in his face was also priceless. After he running upper cut dragon punched Rockhold who was basically out cold against the fence. He cornered him, and said "I LUH YUH LUKE, I LUH YUH" "IM THE WINNER ROCK BOY" then he kissed him. It was glorious.
He's OK from distance, but the moment things get messy or there's a scramble, he's completely susceptible to overhand shots on both sides. He doesn't tuck his chin, or move his head or put his arms up - it's like a litany of errors that will keep getting him knocked out if he doesn't learn. His boxing defense is pretty awful for a top level fighter though. He’s been caught here and vs Bisping and Branch was landing on him. If he goes up to 205 like has been suggested he’d struggle massively.

He talks about technique all the time, but hasn't got close to mastering the elements of boxing that will have him less likely to get sparked clean out.
Well there's clearly a blueprint for others to follow when it comes to Rockhold, so if he doesn't address it, he's going to find more fighters bursting in on him and then swinging for the fences on the inside knowing the probability one of them will connect on his exposed, non-moving head, is high.Yeah I agree he hasn’t ever really addressed it it seems I dunno if it’s arrogance or naivity but he could of stopped last night from happening if he worked on it. He was doing alright until then as well and Romero would struggle as the fight went on, especially if he had a broken leg like he said.

I'm not a huge fan of Rockhold but the rules are a bit dodgy when a fighter misses weight.
Romero was 3lbs overweight, sure he didn't win the title but he now has a title fight next which doesn't really seem fair. That extra weight cut was sure to have a bearing on Rockhold.
Saying that I'm still glad he lost
He definitely shouldn't have gotten this fake interim belt, which is worthless in either case, but in terms of who should fight Whitaker next - it would be hard to now make a case for Rockhold to do so just because Romero didn't make weight.
Rockhold looks like he's on the way out to me.
Lose one of his next two and he calls it quits imo. LHW is a pipe dream.
Romero is fecking awesome, I just wish he was younger and had more years ahead of him. Say what you will about him, he is exciting as anything you can see and is an all round intriguing figure in MMA. Something the UFC needs more of at the moment. Always has you on the edge of your seat. Makes you realize just how good Whittaker is. Hope Bobby can come back the same level he was at before.
Yes, it does the UFC no good that Romero is 40 and has been plagued by steroid charges. BTW...his physique still looks a bit too ripped (especially at age 40) so I wouldn't at all be shocked to learn he pisses hot in the coming weeks.
It's so weird how he was just able to stand there for what seems like a lifetime and talk to Rockhold. I'm sure he had good intentions but it's pretty disrespectful as well, just let the guy stand there on his own to try and collect his thoughts. I know Rockhold isn't massively popular on here but it just seems a bit out of order to me.
