The MMA thread

Just watched the shittest amateur fight on BAMMA. The anticipated debut of Reality TV's Geordie Shore's Aaron Chalmers against some random novice from Liverpool. I wasn't expected to go down like CM Punk but I'm certain they put him against someone they knew he would beat. fecking embarrassing, no fights whatsoever and he's on straight on TV.

chiesa and kevin lee almost got into a fight at the presser

Lee might have landed a punch....

edit. it was a crazy presser :wenger:

weigh in show next:

Anyone up to date with TUF?

the last episode was hilarious...

HANGIN WITH THAAA BOOYZZZZZ!!

Hahahah yeah was brilliant that, his missus giving him shit about it was funny.

That press conference did a good job hyping up them fights. The Lee/Chiesa thing was odd coz he didn't even said anything bad about his mum (this sounds ridiculous just to type!) did like how most of them where dead angry except Weidman and Gastelum as well and the whole crowd got on their side cos of it.

Looking forward to the card tonight glad no major pull outs makes a nice change.

I actually felt bad for Cody. I wouldn't marry a girl that thinks I'm a douche for being myself.

haha yeah, Gastelum and Weidman hugging and laughing together was funny. Such a contrast with the rest.
(almost as big a contrast as Weidman size vs Gastelum)

almost there!

fecking Herb Dean that was a DQ win for Dustin
I'm really annoyed because it was shaping up to be a very good fight. Eddie got rocked but in classic Eddie fashion, he came back and stunned Dustin... and he was very close to finishing him off. Something seriously needs to change with these rules. Really, do we really expect a concussed fighter to analyse his opponent's position (grounded or not and all the other nonsense associated with that)? Let's not even get into how dumb it is to have different rules in different states. Regardless of that, it's not relevant and Dustin should have won by DQ.

yeah its one of those rules that's need to be there but its hard to implement to perfection. They need to sort it out.

the Jotko Branch fight was underwhelming.

edit: Yair next!!!!

Sad for Yair, but Frankie proved to be a handful for him. Expect a lot of grow and improvement after this defeat.

And Maia... the human anaconda. nuff said.

So happy he gets the next title shot vs Woodley. Big chances he will be the new champ.

Dos Santos was out of his depth....wasn't even close. Joanna is a true champ....didn't like the running the whole fight but it was a good strategy and she was tagging Andrade left and right.

That was a fun UFC.

I'd like to see Miocic fight Werdum again. Or possibly Nganou.

Joanna was fantastic tonight. There's just no competition for her in the division any more.

Decent card, don't like what happened in the Poirier fight though. Shambles.

Glad my boy Maia won, feared it would be a trap fight like Jacare recently.

JDS done at the absolute top level.

Coulter and Sherman had an incredible fight on the prelims. Warriors. Poirier and Alvarez was a bloody war untill those illegal knees.

Old man Frankie Edgar gets the win and wants to cut a fecking promo. I am listening.

Maia just edged out the win for me, pretty fun match

Man Andrade is tough, but Joanna bossed her around. Is there anyone who can legit challenge her?

Man, I love Stipe. Clean KO, ref should have stopped that a bit earlier I feel.
