The MMA thread

So at press conferences they get arms length close, and all hell breaks loose, throwing bottles, wanting to kill each other, and their teams. And after the fight its all hugs and kisses. Why the feck do people fall for that "animosity" crap, should`nt be allowed, all fake
Selling the fight is a huge part of the fight game

MMA and boxing. Nearly everytime there is bad blood leading to a fight they kiss and make up once it's done in both sports

They're fighters, no matter whether they like each other or not they're gonna have huge respect for each other after a war like that.

Worth bearing in mind McGregor dropped Diaz twice in round two. Hardly surprising they awarded it to him. If he wins that he wins the fight as the other rounds were clear cut.

Yeah that was tomato sauce coming out of Diaz's head too. Load of the shit the whole lot of it, isn't it.

Why didn't Nate shoot on him once or twice? A couple minutes on the ground could have really worked to his advantage.

Not sure how good Nate's shooting is. He tried repeatedly to take him down in the clinch but Conor's defense and the fact that they were so gassed prevented it, until the very end.

It was a draw or a Conor win. Nothing happening in the 4th hurt Diaz, I don't see a problem here tbh.
Conor has a blueprint on how to beat Nate now so he's heavy favourite for the rematch. It's all about cardio for Conor and tweeking a few things here and there.
Great fight. Conor earned a lot of respect points tonight.

Hard to not show some respect to the other guy after a 5 round dogfight that was as close as this one. But yeah, come on, the 3rd fight was going to happen for sure unless McGregor got his ass kicked in this fight

That's why he wants 155, he'll have stronger cardio at that weight. This weight is just too much for him.

Will help if the next one is at 155 like he said. That's bound to favour McGregor.

McGregor was in control for 4 mins of the 2nd though, you can't discount that because of Nate's flurry near the end. In my opinion.
No I'm not

I've already re watched round 2

It's mcgregors round. But I get where some are coming from with nates late push in that round

But for anyone thinking it's fixed or a robbery clearly don't watch the sport often.

There were several points where Nate had him on the ropes and Conor was in real danger of losing. Nate could eat Conor's punches all day, he's a bleeder and it takes a lot more to finish him than Conor can deliver. I don't think Nate was ever really in danger, Conor did not push him that close to his limit. Conor gassed again. With a full camp, total focus, and 5 months of prep the best he could do was a controversial split decision. Hollow victory for Dana's meal ticket.

Only caught 2-5 and Mcgregor edged it for me.

Excellent fight. Hope the rematch isn't for fecking years, the build up was so boring between the too this time.

He clearly got a 2nd wind in the 4th

Hollow victory my arse:lol:

You do realize Mcregor was fighting at a weight he's not able for? More muscle more oxygen. Stop crying.

Dont think it was a 10-8. It was basically all on rd2 and how that was judged.
I think its fair that Conor had the majority of that round.

At least you're not bitter about it.

I watched from the round after McGregor punched him to the floor. I only saw Nate in the match really and was suprised it went against him.

So glad it lived up to the hype again was a classic for me. I couldn't split it but can see why they gave it to Conor he was very polished and dominant in the early rounds. Nate needed that takedown a bit earlier and he might have won it.

My god Rumble is a beast!

Putting Americano on ignore is the best thing I've ever done. Being like that since his essay on why Aldo would destroy McGregor last year. That "show ignored content" option was too tempting not to click. Knew it would be him.
